As I was posting this pics I realized I eat a lot of junk that I don’t take pictures of since I know I ate random pieces of cookies and sweet bread throughout the day! It’s so hard to get on track when I feel like I am on vacation. I mean, I am on vacation, but I am staying at the BF’s fam’s house so I do have healthy choices available or I could just NOT eat the treats that are around. My willpower is so bad right now! I guess while I am here I can allow myself 1 sweet snack a day and that is it – the bites and tastes have to stop!

I ate this with lunch – Cabot greek yogurt, it was a little tart for me.foodies-1259The main lunch event was a veggie burger on sourdough with cherries.foodies-1260We went for a hike at a park nearby – hiking in FL is very different from CA. Florida is so flat in comparison! I’m not complaining, it’s nice to have a long walk with no hills 🙂foodies-1265Dinner was freshly caught fish, potato and green beans, I think I ate a little bit of something off the BF”s plate, but I can’t remember what.foodies-1266Oh yeah a cookie for dessert…foodies-1267A few hours later (we ate early) the BF”s mom made spice cake with homemade icing and we ate it with vanilla ice cream. It was delish! Doesn’t cake and ice cream make you think of a birthday?foodies-1268The BF and I drinking Hurricanes and counting down the New Year by the fire outside. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was fun!foodies-1269

The BF and I had a long talk about my New Year’s goals last night too. I need help staying on track since my main downfall is my snacking! It is a very bad habit and I’ve been doing it for soooo long I feel like I am an alcoholic. Seriously, I am a foodaholic. I eat for reasons other than hunger, i.e. when I am bored, lonely, stressed, just because it’s there…you get it. My random snacking and sneaking food throughout the day contributes hundreds of calories to my diet and is keeping me from losing weight. One of my biggest goals for 2009 is to stop snacking and eat 3 meals a day with 1 snack between lunch and dinner. If I am honestly hungry outside of that then I can eat fruit. It felt good to talk about it out loud instead of just listing it here on the blog. Like, if I say it out loud and make it known that I am working to stop this habit I can get some help if I need it.
