Eat What You Want Day–Tinkerbell Run–Invisalign Update

What Runners Eat

11 May

Hello! How’s it going? Today is National Eat What You Want Day. That’s a real thing. Ha! So random. But the timing was perfect because we had an epic potluck at Bible study today. I’m new to this Bible study and so I don’t know how/why they break up the sessions the way they do but this session they did it twice.

There’s always a spread of food – but for the potlucks it’s awesome!

We did the “All Things New” study by Kelly Minter. I really like her (she spoke at the retreat I went to last year). And a little bonus of the book was she had recipes at the end of each chapter. One of them was Hummingbird Cake. Someone made it for the potluck. I was super excited about this since I had been thinking about making it.

If I were to make Hummingbird Cake I’d make this easy version because that’s how I roll. (Note: I just spent way too much time looking for the recipe to share with you… realizing most of the recipes were fancier than I am  OR for a 3+ layer cake that I could proceed to drop.) Moral of the story – this Hummingbird Cake recipe is easy and made with cake mix. Boom.

Yes, it was delicious!

I bought an extra toothbrush to keep in my purse. This is a new lil thing since getting Invisalign, which happens to be one of the most essential dental treatments.

Speaking of my new teeth which can be serviced by professionals who also offer All On 4… I got the anchors put on this week. They are the little bracket things that are put on certain teeth to keep the Invisalign liners in place. I made a video of my thoughts. I’m still talking weird. And I think they’re super obvious…

It’s been quite the adjustment getting used to Invisalign, but I’m already seeing some changes. The anchors are definitely something to get used to, and while I feel like I’m talking a little funny, I’m optimistic about the results. Invisalign is a game-changer when it comes to discreet dental treatment, and it’s reassuring to know that skilled professionals are managing the process. If you’re considering a similar treatment, finding a good specialist like the dentist in Henderson nv, who specializes in Invisalign could really make a difference in your experience. They can guide you through each stage, making sure the fit and progress are exactly as they should be.

Adjusting to Invisalign and the little anchors that come with it really highlights how important expert dental care is—not just for cosmetic improvements but for overall oral health and comfort. Skilled professionals understand that treatments like Invisalign require precision and ongoing attention to ensure they’re effective without causing unnecessary discomfort. Whether you’re managing minor pain from new braces or facing more urgent issues, having access to knowledgeable dentists who can quickly address your needs is essential.

Services that combine advanced technology with compassionate care can make all the difference, especially when you need immediate relief or expert guidance through complex dental procedures. It’s reassuring to know that there are dental specialists ready to support you every step of the way, helping to ease pain and ensure your treatment progresses smoothly.

Beyond straightening teeth, expert dental care is crucial for restoring confident smiles and relieving discomfort caused by a range of issues—from sudden toothaches to long-term oral health challenges. Clinics like those linked with emergencydentistchicago.com offer comprehensive solutions that go beyond routine cleanings, providing urgent care when dental problems arise unexpectedly. Their ability to combine emergency interventions with ongoing treatments means patients can trust they’ll receive timely, effective relief while working toward a healthier, more beautiful smile.

For anyone navigating dental treatments, having that kind of reliable support offers peace of mind, knowing expert help is always available to restore comfort and confidence.

The key to a successful Invisalign journey is working with an experienced dental professional who understands the nuances of this treatment. A skilled dentist will monitor your progress, make necessary adjustments, and provide helpful tips to keep you on track for the best possible outcome.

For those exploring Invisalign or other advanced dental treatments, visiting a trusted dentist cedar city can ensure you receive top-notch care throughout the process. Their expertise extends beyond Invisalign, offering a range of restorative and cosmetic treatments designed to enhance your smile. Whether you’re considering dental implants, teeth whitening, or other services, their team is dedicated to creating personalized treatment plans that address your unique needs. With their guidance, you can feel confident that your smile transformation will be both effective and comfortable, helping you achieve lasting results you can feel proud of.

In the meantime, I’m learning to embrace the awkwardness of talking with the anchors in place. While they may be a bit noticeable right now, I know it’s all part of the journey to a perfect smile. Having a dentist who understands your needs, like the team at a dentist in Henderson, NV, can help make the transition smoother. They’ll offer personalized advice on how to care for your aligners and ensure you’re on track for the best possible results.

Hummingbird cakes sounds great!!! I’ll give it a try. I didn’t run last weekend. My son graduated from college, it rained cats and dogs here and we spent Mother’s Day with my mom. So, it was a win / win all around.

I ran the Vigor 10k down a canyon. My fastest pace time yet! But it was downhill so that’s kinda cheating. I’m running the Disneyland Half in Sept. I’d be so fun to dress up together! Ariel and Merida? Mufasa and Simba? They were kinda ginger-y. Or we could get shirts that say “Two redheads walk into Disneyland. And then ate their way through the park until there was nothing left!”

So I was somewhat angry when I got my attachment points on because I also felt that I was led to believe they’d be less noticeable. You definitely feel them and initially they’re super annoying -just as bad as having braces brackets. I also have a lot and they are in the front. So…..most people don’t notice them. When I wear the aligners i feel them less bc they’re not rubbing on my lips. I definitely have gotten used to them and they rarely bug me but you’re right about food getting stuck. You do need to brush your teeth after you eat and drink water with meals to kind of rinse them. You’ll get used to it so don’t worry.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the attachments. I guess I’m glad to know I’m not the only one.

The “bumps” for invisalign are how the product gets your teeth to move. So where they are placed will be different for every person. I had it for a couple years and definitely felt that it was visible. Plus, it made life difficult – eating and drinking outside the house, attending events, etc. In the end I was happy to have my teeth straight, but I would never recommend it unless a person had quite visible and obvious crooked teeth. It’s just not worth the aggravation.

I got the invisalign this week and have brackets on almost every tooth. I feel totally self conscious about the front ones as well. I’ve found it so weird with eating as it constantly feels like I have food on my teeth.. Have you been biting your cheeks a lot? I have and am an told by the ortho that it will go away as the jaw movement adjusts. Definitely been an adjustment to my life this week

Weekend will be fairly low key. A brunch on Sunday with my mom and fam.
I’m headed to yoga tonight and I might go see a movie with the BF tomorrow night.

I don’t even see the braces at all in your videos. And I don’t hear the lisp anymore either.
My brother just had his braces taken off after 2 years and his were the metal kind! He’s a lawyer and is around professionals all the time. He was obsessed with teeth brushing after every meal and not eating the “forbidden foods”. I’ll see him on Sunday for the first time braceless. 🙂

I’d go run a disney race in costume with you. As I return from my latest injury I need to make running more fun and less pressure filled.

I had been planning to take my kids camping at Assateague this weekend, but it looks like it’s going to rain through Sunday morning. No, thanks to that. Now I have to come up with something fun.
