As a result of my recent sleep eating kitchen raid I started thinking of ways to prevent it (besides sleeping more!).
Instead of turning to food when you are tired you can help prevent fatigue with certain foods. For example, having an iron deficiency often results in fatigue. Red meat is one of the best sources for iron, but I don’t eat red meat so my go-to iron sources are:
– Beans
– Spinach
– Iron fortified cereal
Fitness Magazine has an article of 5 Nutrients You Need for Energy. I think they are all great suggestions, especially for runners since they mention: Potassium – which is a runner favorite via banana & berries, Vitamin E – that we all know and love through nuts and Iron too!
