Finding God

Hola Chicas y Chicos, today was a lot better than yesterday – but still crazy!

I took bites of things I didn’t picture, but I am working on it. I need to find God(probably on more than one level). I read in an article recently that people who were trying to lose weight did best when they had to make significant lifestyle changes. If it was a big/uncomfortable change they had to make a bigger effort and were more aware of what they were eating. I dunno. I’ve always been a big fan of small changes that add up, but this is the exact opposite. The article literally said if dieters needed to “find God” they were more successful. Hmmm. I don’t know what big change I can make to help me change my eating habits. Eating in another room? Only eating foods that start with the letter “B”?

I made great progress on my secret project 🙂 and I’m hoping it will turn out well!

Other things I made progress on:

– Work work

– Ben’s Easter Basket 🙂

– Mailing out the blogger bake sale winnings

– Procrastinating (my specialty)

– Writing this list

For my afternoon snack I made a super indulgent bowl of greek yogurt with pumpkin butter/almonds/choc chips/raisins/cereal. My brother Mike even commented, “that doesn’t look healthy, why are you eating that?” But, I think he was just trying to harass me, whatev.dscn7527

I found this cookies at the 99 cent store – Mexican Wedding Cookies!  I have heard about these, but hadn’t tried them before and was thinking about tracking them down for my wedding. dscn7533

They were good, but nothing special, just simple almond cookies covered in powdered sugar.dscn7532

I had time today to roast up my fave veggie – brussel sprouts and bake some tofu, served with a sweet potato.dscn7535

I froze the tofu and thawed it out today. It wasn’t completely thawed by the time I was ready to cook so I microwaved it for a few minutes and then squeezed out the water. Frozen tofu has a very different texture than just cooking straight from the package. It’s very spongey on the inside and chewdscn75381ier. I love it!

After dinner I had a few almonds from this fancy trail mix and a sf hot cocoa. dscn7542

Question: Have you ever made a BIG lifestyle change – something that was drastic and uncomfortable??? Why did you do it?
