Food I Don’t Need

13 Feb

Cabin fever had me super crazy today so I bundled up and walked to the store. It was the first time I left my apartment in days. Days! Seriously.

But, I was enjoying my time out so much I ended up at the store for one and a half hours and also ended up buying a bunch of stuff we do not need 🙁 I am lame.

First, I got some Fig Newmans because I wanted a “healthy cookie”. Okay not really, I wanted a good cookie, but  they didn’t have a bakery with fresh chocolate chip cookies. For some reason I thought Ben liked these (so I wouldn’t be eating them all myself), but he said whatev.

I also got these new Risotto chips. They were on sale and looked interesting so I went for it. The Good News is they taste good! The garlic flavor is super strong (just like I like it).

The Bad News is: The serving size is for 9 chips 🙁 And they have a long ingredients list.

I also got this super processed can of soup because I knew I was going to waste all my dinner calories on the above mentioned snacks. Good call. But bad call on putting down the soup with the veggie broth base and accidentally taking this one home in the confusion of reading all the labels. I still ate it.

I also got this new Luna protein bar to try. I didn’t like it. It is smaller than the “usual” Luna bars and totally not as good, but with similar calories. Boo. (Don’t ask why the package is empty, despite this bad review.)

Ben’s Random Comment of the Day:

Ben: “Babe, I was reading on Reddit today that you’re super healthy. Harvard Medical Review did a study and said girls with big butts are healthier than others.”

Me: “Did you just call me fat?”

Okay, this really happened, but I wasn’t offended because life is too short to take yourself too seriously 🙂 And I actually enjoy certain Latin/feminine features of myself.

Happy Weekend!

I’m always wary of processed food. When I’m craving cookies, I try to bake them. When I’m craving carbs, I head to the local bakery. However, soup and the like in cans are very convenient. So I don’t completely ban them from my diet.

I used to get offended when my hubby said stuff like that while we were dating until I figured out he wasn’t just trying to make me feel better about myself, he actually LIKES my big butt! Now I’m proud of my ghetto booty – and it if makes me healthier, even better! That being said, guys do say some dumb things sometimes!

The only new luna I thought was worth it was the cookie dough

I’m cracking up over Ben’s comment! Honestly, I think a full bottom is the best. I wish I had a quarter of what Kim Kardashian is working with. You’re beautiful and hilarious

These days a “big butt” often refers to a woman with healthy curves that we were meant to have! So rock on! That is probably why the women in that study were found to be healthier!!

I tried the same luna bar and gave it a big thumbs down.

That study is reason number 2 why I like my big Italian ass. Reason number one is because it looks good 😉

I bought a couple of those Luna protein bars, and I thought the PB one was so-so, but the cookie dough flavor was (I thought) really good!

oh ben… those risotto chips look awesome! (or I guess any carb with garlic and cheese tastes stellar)… hope you can get out tomorrow – even if its just to the gym next door!

Does that mean us latinas will eventually take over the world through survival of the fittest?
    I think yes!
