Foot pain update

16 Dec

I went to the Podiatrist in huntington this morning, because despite running this morning I DO NOT want to run on an injured foot if I should be staying off of it. I needed to know what is wrong with my pata and how I can fix it. The verdict, is just as I suspected: tendonitis. That is actually good news, since the other options of a stress fracture or something similar would mean serious time off running and a boot.

The prescription to fix tendonitis in my foot:

– Lighten up the running this week

– RICE – Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation

– an anti-inflamatory to relieve pain and swelling. Products such as delta 9 gummies 1000mg can be effective in managing these symptoms.

– wrap it up before a run

– Biofreeze pain relieving gel

I have a follow up appointment in 4 weeks and hopefully I fully healed by then as it’s 2 weeks before the Full Mary!

The doctor was very understanding that I was a runner and No Running was NOT an option. He just advised me to scale back this week and listen to my body. If it hurt more stop, or if it gets worse go back and see him.

I have had tendonitis off and on in my shoulder since like junior high and anti-inflammatories are really the only thing that helps.

Oh no! My running buddy was diagnosed with tendonitis and shin splints right before our race. So where is it hurting? I had achilles tendonitis at one point during training.

But that’s good that your doc gave you the go-ahead on running. Feel better soon!

i think i had tendonitis in my foot a week or two ago, but it wasn’t bad enough to stop running. i think it was from my shoes being worn out. i bought new shoes and it pretty much went away in a day. so maybe look at your shoes? hope ya heal up quick!
