Fourth of July Run and Breakfast

4 Jul

Happy Fourth of July!!! What are your plans for today?

I started my morning with a 15 mile run. It was rough. My legs are definitely tired and feel really tight. I just spent some good time stretching. I’m trying to actually train for a fall marathon and I am working on staying on a training plan, but that requires me to stay healthy and injury free so stretching is key. I also need to incorporate some more complimentary cross training in the mix.

Post-Run fuel… cream cheese toast with blueberries and strawberries. Plus eggs, but that’s not as festive Smile

And coffee.

Last night I sipped on a new to me creation = tequila and Crystal Light. It was amazing. Trust. My behavior after a few drinks was probably less than amazing but that’s not the point…

Now I’m headed to my parent’s house to spend some quality time with my fam and bbq.

Sounds like a festive day! My parents and I did a 4 mile race yesterday morning close to home at 700am… pretty early but we beat the heat for the most part!

I ran a 4 miler race today and spent a lot of family time. Tomorrow is official vacation for a whole week! I’m so excited.
I always need to incorporate more strength training, but I always have a hard time committing:/

I ran a local race this morning. It was a 5 miler and was SO HILLY!
Then I went to dog sit for a bit for my boyfriend’s pooch.
Then I went out to dinner with my sister-in-law and nephew. We went to Famous Dave’s BBQ. I am stuffed.
There are some fireworks happening outside but I’m too tired to get off the sofa to go look.

Have you tried ice baths after running long distance runs or hard speed workouts? I’m finding they’re helping me recover at the minute. They’re also not too bad in the summer when it’s hot.. Happy 4th Of July by the way 🙂

My family and I are in Laurel for the largest fireworks display in Montana! 😉 I’ve never seen it so I’m excited to see whether it’s impressive. I just ate a huge funnel cake, and am going to float the river for a bit here soon. I have to get a run in this evening and I don’t know how it’s going to go with all this unhealthy celebratory eating – but that’s okay because nothing says ‘Merica like eating tons of obesity inducing treats lol.

That breakfast looks delicious! I ran a local 1/3 marathon so that I could pig out on BBQ food later 🙂
