Hello! I am here to explain what I mean when I say I have a ‘tamale baby’. But first let’s celebrate the awesome delivery I got yesterday. The absolute highlight of a runner’s day/week/month is getting new running shoes. I am trying out these HOKA ONE ONE shoes and will report back with my findings soon.
I ran 10 miles in my new Hokas and my favorite Run Disney race tee = Stitch 10K tee. Love this one!
As I was leaving for my run I saw the tamale lady hanging out on the corner.
I quickly turned back home, grabbed some money and returned to the corner to buy a dozen tamales. Nothing is more American legit than buying tamales from a stroller or shopping cart. That’s how you know they’re good.
Serve ‘em up with a few yolk-y eggs and prepare to be happily full of a tamale breakfast (belly) for the rest of the day.

I recently started running in the Hoka shoes too. Not sure how I feel about them yet. They are great for downhill because of the support but lately I keep feeling like they are too heavy on me and can feel blisters starting to form. Like my feet feel hot…have you experienced that too?
Nothing is more American than … having lots of options to celebrate the 4th of July! For us, it’s a family get-together with barbecue, hot dogs for the kids, lots of ice cream and the best part: watermelon!!!

Omg! I heart tamales purchased roadside! Reminds of my childhood- once a month or so a little old lady would be on our corner selling them out of a cooler in the trunk of her ancient Cadillac. They were amazing.

Well, cuddling with grandkids is better, but new running shoes is pretty dang close. 🙂
