French Toast Friday with Pumpkin

13 Apr

Hello! This morning I grabbed a piece of toast and was about to head out on a 14 mile run when my mom called. She’s about 40 miles north of me and said the rain was headed my way.

Yep, not even a mile into my run it started. I decided to cut it back to 10 miles. It seems like 10 miles is my maximum in the rain. I’ve ran 10 miles in the rain here.

Wait. I lied. I ran 13 miles in the rain in March. What a slacker I was today Sad smileIMG_9777 (800x533)

At least I didn’t slack in the Refuel department because breakfast was pretty awesome. French toast with a warm pumpkin / whipped cottage cheese mixture, PB and sf syrup. IMG_9784 (800x533)

Now I’m chomping on an apple and chatting with you nice people Smile IMG_9790 (800x533)

Winner of the Bare Fruit Apple Chips is Mike Mudder! I’ve already emailed him.

Ben and I are headed to Santa Rosa / Healdsburg this weekend. (We also went there in November. You can read about it here and it’s also when I officially announced my search for the best choc chip cookie.) He has some biz to take care of and is dragging me along (since I always drag him to races). I know SR has a marathon so I’m hoping to find a place to run a solid double digit run tomorrow. We’ll see!

Question: Any fun weekend plans?

You’re coming to my neck of the woods 🙂 I think it’s supposed to be a nice weekend, you’re in luck. Definitely check out Spring Lake if you want to go for a run, as a previous reader mentioned it’s not very long but go around a few times and jump on some of the different trails, it makes for a fun run. Oh and if you want frozen yogurt you must check out Moxie’s in Windsor, it’s amazing!! Have fun.

Attempting a double race today (Saturday) – just finished one earlier this morning. We’ll see how the next one pans out later. After that it’ll be eating and shopping galore!

It’s raining up here in Santa Rosa now but it will be done by the time you get here. Should be a beautiful weekend. Drive safe!

Is there a good path to run around Annadel state park?

Annadel is great but there is actually a half there tomorrow. If you start at Howarth Park there is a trail that goes to Spring Lake which is below Annadel. It is only about 3.5 miles round trip though. Obviously you could extend it by taking some trails off the main path but it will be super muddy.

Might be fun to enjoy wines. I’ve never been able to embrace booze. Of any kind. Beer makes me sorta gag. Why is it so stinky? Hmmm.

Very happy with morning coffee + a Sprite nightcap. Weird I know. HA.

Did you eat that mini red pepper? Doubt it. When something is rancid or spoiled, our tastebuds immediately recognize that. Hopefully, you spit it out.

Wow …. another weekend adventure for you & Ben ….. ENJOY!

No races this weekend for me, just relaxing and rehabbing. Super fun. Maybe a picnic in the park on Saturday if the weather cooperates. Its supposed to be pretty nice in the Northeast this weekend!

Don’t forget to hit a winery or 5 while you’re in the area…

Was going for a trail run tomorrow but since they close the trails with any sign of rain around here I will hit the boardwalk in Newport and make it nice and easy on me. That a pizza/beer date with some friends. My life is pretty out of control.

I’m running my second 50 miler tomorrow. Don’t know if I’d call it fun, but it sure is an experience.
