Friday Favorites from Florida

Hello! I took a red eye last night and made it to Florida early this morning. Red eyes are rough, living with a red head is rougher. But I digress.

welcome to tampa (800x800)

I slept a few hours on the flight, but it wasn’t great sleep. So as soon as I got to Ben’s fam’s house we ate and took a nap. I love that my peeps always know how to roll out the welcome watermelon wagon!

Then, I needed a pick-me-up. So, I walked to Dunkin Donuts for an iced coffee.

I saw a turtle! And it kinda scared me. You’re not in Kansas California anymore Dorothy.

I finally spotted the Cheesy Garlic Bread chips at Publix and grabbed them up. Yep, I see why they won the Lay’s contest.

And finally, here are my favorite things from this week:

Friday Favorites

(Five) Fall Leaves. I literally found five gorgeous leaves on my run yesterday. See? SoCal has seasons! Or, a few red leaves. red leaves (450x800)

Herb Salad from Trader Joes. So herby and delicious.

This raccoon sneaker. This is exactly how it is to eat with me.

Candles. Ahhhhh. It helps me feel calm for some reason.

Men’s Health Magazine. Tons of great info on exercise and healthy eating without the “How to Get Your Man to Think You’re a Sexy Tiger in the Sack” bullsht.

Mike Bowen – who ran 58,282 for fallen Vietnam vets. (Via ABC News)

For 31 years he’s been jogging a mile for each soldier that didn’t make it home.

Now I’m going to wrap up some emails before I start my weekend Smile

Question: What are you doing this weekend?

The raccoon clip makes me giggle every time I see it. I’m pretty sure my cats would pounce on him for trying to run off with their food, though.

Also, I’m a fan of Men’s Health. My husband and I have been following their Belly Off diet on an off-and-on basis for a few years and the food is SO good!

Had a lovely easy chit chat run with friends this morning and will be attending Grandpa’s birthday dinner before heading to join friends for a Mid Autumn run plus supper (double booked myself! LOL!). Tomorrow morning will be a run with friends before we attend the Penang Bridge Marathon clinic and in the evening, a runner friend’s wedding reception.

Definitely a packed weekend! You enjoy yours as well M!

Do your in-laws live in Tampa—that was my old stomping ground for a while..in one of our many many moves as a kid!

Those leaves are gorgeous–I actually made an eyeshadow almost that EXACT deep red the other day–let me know if you’d like a sample!

I like the sriracha in the background of the cheesy garlic bread chips since that was one of the other flavor contenders! I guess now you can combine the best of both.

That raccoon video was hilarious! I can just picture the cat saying “What the fuuuhhh”, Haha!

So, is Mike Bowen a real-life Forrest Gump?

Turtles sort of freak me out. They look all cute on TV and as bathtub toys and such, but really they’re sort of like mini-dinosaurs.

We’re still figuring out the plans for our weekend, but apartment hunting is probably on the list. So excited (<- oozing with sarcasm). Don't get me wrong; I like the excitement of moving. But the initial stages of seeing what's out there, filtering out the crap, and having your hopes dashed again and again is draining. Just give me the perfect place at the first viewing, okay?

I just realized I need an attitude adjustment. It'll be fun. We'll pack some snacks, I'll make maps and spreadsheets to get super-organized, it'll be a fun day.

I also read Men’s Health! I really like the lack of fluff. It seems more practical.

Plus the Men aren’t too bad to look at either. More inspiring than some stick thin figure that I’ll never be anyway!

Have a great time in Florida! I think this weekend I am laying low, I think I have come down with the flu. Everyone in the office is sick so despite my best efforts, it got me too.

I am going camping for the first time in over a decade. I am kind of excited except not about sleeping on the ground. I took a nap today just incase I don’t sleep the rest of the weekend. That is a very smart idea with the Men’s Health magazine. I don’t think I’ve even looked in one before.

long run and brunching with my favorite running buddy.

Then I’m going to “fall-ify” (yes I just made up that word, feel free to make it go viral) my apartment – aka pumpkin spice/ apple delight candles, whip out the cozy fall blankets and the pumpkin shaped candy jar full of CANDY CORN 🙂

Raccoons are sneaky buggers! I think I’ve seen about five leaves in SF as well.

This weekend will be all about the long run, sleeping, lifting, and maybe a little pizza and beer to balance it all out.

That raccoon clip is hilarious! My sister had a raccoon come in to her house every night through the dog door and was eating all the dog food. Luckily no one got hurt. This weekend I’m studying for my CPA exam, don’t be jealous of all the fun I’m going to have while you’re hanging out in FL.
