Hello! How’s your day going?
I had to head back to the mall to order the washing machine today (yesterday I did comparison shopping and decided too late). This worked out though because the mall has a Farmer’s Market in the parking lot and I picked up a cauliflower for some Cauliflower Pizza Crust action this weekend.
Friday Favorites
It was not easy to find sweets in China. Even their baked treats tasted A LOT less sweet than what we’re used to in the US. They use less sugar so the cookies and bars were very mild.
But, these candies I found on the last day are really really good!
My blue polka dot sweater is from Nordstrom Rack (not ON as some guessed on Instagram).
My new green tea from China. Love it.

Question: What is your favorite thing this week?
I’m pretty sure I have the same sweater in a different color, I love it (and wore it today 🙂 )
🙂
Is it sad that my favorite thing about this week is that it’s finally the weekend? It was just one of those weeks…
My real favorite thing is my new Gaiam BalanceBall chair (which I blogged about yesterday if anyone is thinking of getting one).
Happy weekend!!!
that sweater is adorable! I am loving banana bread and circuit workouts this week!
My favourite thing from this week is Jones soda.Yum!
China seems like such an amazing place! I would be so interested in the desert and all the food they have to offer!
Love the sweater by the way!
I don’t know if I could handle a trip/vacation without a decent selection sweets and desserts. For me, that is the main excitement of a meal and the fun of going away. I am glad you found those candies though, at least there was something!
Love love loved all your China posts. I may have the opportunity to go in 2015 if our round the world trip money stretches.
This week I. Loving feeling healthy again after a very indulgent few months leading up to Christmas.
Hi Monica. I haven’t commented on any of your China posts, so i wanted to say that I’m so happy for you for making that trip happen. It sounds like it was amazing, and I’m sure will become even more so as you continue to reflect on it. Also, on your running trots post, seriously? Never a close call till now? Lucky lady!! Also, since you were out of the country, not sure if you heard about Meg Cross Menzies, a mom and avid runner who was killed by a drunk driver this past Monday. Tomorrow people all over the world are dedicating their runs to #megsmile. In case you didn’t know about it, I thought it would be something you were interested in. It definitely looks like it’s banned together the running community.
I hadn’t heard about Meg. Thank you for sharing. I will run for Meg tomorrow!
We should meet up one day at this bakery in Irvine for Chinese pastries!

(There’s a candy store w dried fruits/etc in the same mall!)
My favorite thing this week, is that Friday is actually my Friday which happens only ever 6 weeks.
Hopefully my favorite thing will be a nice, shiny half PR on Sunday! 🙂 So far, just enjoying being done with the week and curled up on the couch.
What exactly is that candy?? Is it chocolate??
My favorite thing this week is that I made it to the gym 2 nights this week for some awesome workouts!! 🙂
I’ve never made cauliflower crust before… is it easy?
Yeah, it’s soft chocolate on the inside.
It’s pretty easy to make cauliflower crust, probably easier than regular crust from scratch?
My favorite thing this week is sliced almonds! I just started putting them on my Greek yogurt and love it.
haha no wonder why you liked that candy wrapped in a black paper – it is not chinese, but japanese. They have a good selection of sweets and lots of their treats are imported to China.
Ha! Oh well.
I love just being at home with my husband 🙂 We’ve had a hard week so right now I am loving relaxing!
My favorite thing this week has been frozen blueberries. I have been putting them in my cereal all week and I’m addicted!
I love frozen blueberries! I put them in everything – oatmeal, protein shakes, greek yogurt…I go through a CostCo-sized bag pretty fast!
