Fun Facts Friday

Hello Friends, and welcome to Fun Facts Friday 🙂

I didn’t take pics of my food because I got a juice from WF and it made me full. Until my stomach realized that was just filler and I got super hungry and ate the entire kitchen before I realized I

A.) have a blog where I’m supposed to document my eats

and

B.) am not the Tasmanian Devil and should not eat like I am.tasmanian_devil

Well, the damage is done and I’d rather not dwell on it. I realize this slip was in direct result of not getting enough sleep these last 2 days. I failed on my Weekly Goal of 8 hours each night. But I realize how important it is for my training, health and weight, so I’m going to keep working at it.

So in an attempt to distract you from my bad day I thought I’d share some fun food facts…

1. Shredded Wheat was the first breakfast cereal shredded_wheat

and apparently it’s better than sex. shredded-wheat is sexy I love cereal, but am not sure if I agree.

2. It takes 3500 calories to make a pound of fat. I thought we all knew that, but Ben didn’t know until I told him and he’s a genius. So, I’m reminding you.

3. Antarctica is the only continent that does not have McDonald’s.

Does that make residents of Antarctica lucky or unlucky?

4. Chocolate is a natural form if anti-depressant. It produces serotonin –a chemical that elevates the mood. It is also referred to as the “happy chemical.” Now that is a happy fun chocolate fact.IMG_2560

So, if I didn’t eat so much of it I would be a super downer (just like this post).

5. There will be a great Meatless Mexican Monday post while I’m on vacation, so be sure to check back.

Tomorrow I am doing a long run. Then, I am packing up my suitcase and heading to Curacao!!!

Ben and I will be in Curacao from Sunday to Friday night. I’m planning on blogging my adventures while I’m gone. I lalalove travel blogs and travel blogging, so I hope you guys enjoy the posts too 🙂

Have a great vacation, should I be embarrassed that I have never heard of Curacao? I hope you have fun and I learn more about it through your posts 😛
Cute fun facts, and yes for me there is a direct correlation between tired and my mouth becoming a vacuum for food.

I use that same justification to eat chocolate everyday!

Since you mentioned you like travel blogs – I thought I’d share mine! I just spent the sumer sailing the Mediterranean with Semester at Sea!

I tend to stuff everything I can into my mouth when I have slept way to little, too. Right now is a new moment, thankfully. That’s one of the things I love about life- we can always “start over.”
I hope you have a really fun and rejuvenating time on your trip!

I hope you have a really successful run….and a great time in Curacao!
Wow, I’m jealous. Somehow my big plans of taking my kid to get a hair cut this weekend just don’t compare. Oh well, I live vicariously through you and Ben. Happy travels!

Really no McD’s in Antarctica?? They are lucky!! I am not a fan of McD’s. I can’t even remember the last time I was there and when it was, it was only for an ice cream cone.

Oh, man! Have a GREAT time on your vacay. I will just have to live vicariously through you as I sit in my office with no windows to the outside world next week. *Sigh* 😉 Rock the long run!

holy crap, i had the funniest dream about you last night. we were at some sort of convention and everyone had just gone running. You were in the bathroom with some other skinny male (it must have been evan) and you were both naked. You had one leg up on the sink (who knows?) and i totally saw your bush! lol. then [we shall call him] evan came over to me with his dinkle hanging out. hahaha. basically it was soft core porn, no big deal.
