The other day a 6’3 handsome blue-eyed bearded man showed up at my door. And when someone like that happens – especially when you have an affinity for blue eyes and dimples, you listen.

Long story, super short Ben (the above mentioned beard-y), and I have been living separately for a while. Maybe one day I’ll explain the whole situation. Maybe I’ll just overshare to people in person. Maybe I’ll write a book or on a bathroom wall… but for now it’s way too complicated to really explain properly.
So why am I even telling you if you don’t get all the juicy details?
Because I’m on a plane headed to Florida to hang out with Ben and his family for a week or two or maybe forever. Who knows? I sure don’t.
I can and will blog from anywhere in the world with internet so it won’t affect RER. But it will be different pictures and food and places I’m running so I just wanted ya to know why I’m in a new place for a bit.
The stuff I’ve been going through since I posted that I got ‘some horrible news’ in September has been rough. But again, it’s way too complicated for a blog post and only shares my side of the story. So for now I’m just living my life and if there is anything new to report you’ll be the first fourth to know
Plus, I’m just looking on the bright side of this – hello running and eating in Florida, not too shab.
Back to running and eating and blogging…
This morning I did a 10 mile run before my flight. I was hoping to get in a lot of miles before the trip, but didn’t have time. I’ll make up for it next time.
(RER Instagram)
Luckily, I did have time for a pre-flight drink… totally necessary.

My husband and I were separated for over two years for a lot of different reasons. He wanted to reconcile, but I had been hurt terribly so wasn’t interested at first. Then I read a blog of a young widow who wanted so much to have more time with her husband, but it was too late. That’s when it hit me that it wasn’t too late for us. We ended up going to counseling and moved back in a year ago. It’s not always easy, but I’m glad we tried. Saying prayers for you .xo

so happy to learn you and Ben continue to take steps (and jet planes) to be together. praying things go very well and wishing you all the best! <3

A long time reader here that just wants to say I’m glad you’re on your way to Florida. After all, good 6’3 handsome blue-eyed bearded men with dimples are hard to come by these days. 😉
All of us just want what’s best for you and what’s best for Ben, and hopefully that will end up with the two you being better together then you have been alone with one of you on each coast. I love happy ever afters, and I hope Ben and you have one.
But if it doesn’t turn out that way, you will find your happiness one day. But I’m glad that you and Ben are trying to work it out instead of just throwing it away like so many people do these days. Marriages are worth fighting for. Wishing you guys the best.

Monica, thanks for sharing. People having hard times and keeping on helps me to remember it’s ok to have hard times and that I should keep on too. Wishing you all the best

A friend shared this with me the other day. I just felt compelled to share it with you. Love is the single truth. It is the only thing lasts forever. Everything else comes and goes, including our physical form.
Enjoy your time in Florida whether it is for a week or a month or forever. And it doesn’t really matter how complicated your situation is. Just have faith you will “get there” no matter what that “where” is.
I’ve never had a Moscow mule but your drink pic made me crave a mojito!!!
Looking forward to your run eat and repeating from the east coast 🙂

I’m not sure specifically what you are going through, but just know that everything will be ok. I have definitely had my share of hard times and tough situations, but I have learned from every one and become stronger by walking through them. I hope you have a nice time and enjoy running in new places!
Sandy says
Have fun in Florida. Wishing you the best 🙂
nik says
At least you can still run I’m too injured!

Mules are my favorite. Maybe it’s my Ukranian heritage sneaking in there? We got proper copper mule mugs as a wedding gift but have yet to use them. Keeping vodka in the house seems dangerous to me. 😉 And if you wind up in FL forever, I am definitely going to stalk you at a race! But not between the months of July and October. Unless it’s a 5k and it’s at like 3am.
Karen says
We always end up in Tampa at the same time! I’ll be there next weekend 🙂
Cindy says
Have fun in Florida. Never had a mule.
Jessica says
Have a great trip!
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
I haven’t worked out yet today. It might be a rest day, I haven’t decided yet.
I hope you have fun running and eating in some new places!

Margaret @ Happy Healthy PDX says
Love Moscow Mules but have you ever tried Mexican Mules? Sub the vodka for tequila and its DELISH.
Paula says
Ummmmm genius!!

You are lucky to have a career which allows you to work from wherever you want! I do wish I knew what was going on only so I could offer advice, but it is good to keep some things private 🙂 Hope it works out for ya!

So, I’m pretty sure I told you I have a house in Venice but did I mention we bought another house last month and it’s in…….ENGLEWOOD! Sooooooo, if you need someone to run with or you wanna hit up some free yoga on the beach, I’m your girl! 🙂
Oh, and make sure Ben takes you to Flounder’s, the food is okay but the atmosphere is fun, fun, fun! (Be sure to wear cheap flip flops and hang them on the fence).
runeatrepeat says
Ha! No way!! I feel like Englewood is such a small place super crazy you live here. I have meant to try the yoga on the beach for the longest – is it good?
Kaelene @Unlocking Kiki says
We will be here reading along no matter where you are writing and running from! Looking forward to seeing some beautiful Florida pictures : )

Welcome to Florida and all its humidity haha! What part of Florida are you in? I live in Tampa.

I ran 5 Saturday with 2 at race pace. Today I have 6 easy miles ( I’m currently doing the Hal Hignon plan for PR in 10K)
AND my husband had a Moscow Mule just last night! We both like them and I bought him the copper mugs a few years ago for Xmas 🙂
Have fun in Florida!
