27 Aug

Hello!! Welcome to the weekend! Are you going to relax like Vegas or party like someone who is in Las Vegas?

cat sleep blog (800x450)

This morning I had oatmeal with egg whites whipped in for breakfast.

I posted this pic on instagram and got some requests for the ‘recipe’. I feel like it’s not really a recipe but here is how I do it.

how to make egg white oatmeal

Oatmeal with Egg Whites Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets of oatmeal
  • 1/2 c egg whites
  • dash of milk
  • Mix-ins: cinnamon, sweetener, dash salt, honey, nut butter

Directions:

Cook oatmeal to package directions in microwave. (Try to keep it on the thicker side.)

Add egg whites , stir and cook for 30 seconds. Stir in sweetener and cinnamon. Cook for another 30 seconds.

Add a dash of milk if it looks too thick. Add all the toppings you have (like everything except pickles trust me). Enjoy!

Microwaves are different so keep an eye on it to avoid it overflowing. Cook more or less to your preference.

Pro tip: Use a microwave safe dish AND don’t slam it down in a hungry rush. I have no idea why this bowl broke at my first attempt this morning since I’ve used it before. So, I am pretty sure it was microwave safe. It might have had a small crack that I made worse?

I went to pick it up and it fell apart?!?! Like, seriously fell apart and broke!?!

In other fun news… I went to Disneyland with my little brother today! He is a Disneyland expert so a post with more info is coming soon.

day at disneyland with my brother

It was super hot so I brought a lot of water and spiked it with a packet of Spark.

Those oats are amazing! It’s a bank holiday weekend here in the UK meaning we get Monday off (hollaaaaaa!) so I’ll be doing plenty of sleeping and some hot yoga classes 😀

So…my clothes are too big. This whole weight loss / fitness journey puts a real damper on the pocket book. Time to do some shopping to get myself some fall clothes. Problem is I can’t find clothes I like that fit me and are appropriate for work. The ones I find that fit me are way to juvenile and teenie-bopperish. The ones I like are too big. The ones I like AND fit are always jeans and workout clothes. Can’t wear that to work every day. What’s on the agenda? Shopping? Oh, and yeah, I have a baby shower this morning.

TYPO: I’m disappointed that you are advocating this type of cleanse, as opposed to listening to your body’s signals of hunger & satisfaction. Just my humble opinion.

Thanks for chiming in kindly. I really needed an official ‘fresh start’ after a few vacations and couldn’t get back to intuitive eating. This helped me feel like ‘the time is now’ to get back to fueling my body in a healthy way. I was super off track with bad habits like snacking while working and well into the night. It’s not for everyone, but it did really help me and now I am back to listening to my body and back to a good balance.

I find that glass is weird as a microwavable bowl. Sometimes they’re fine, and sometimes they do epically break. We used to have these simple little glass ice cream dishes that I used to use to melt butter. They kept breaking on me, and now we have like three left (out of eight). Probably best not to use it in the future? I use huge coffee mugs for my oatmeal. Works out great. 🙂
I would seriously love to relax like Vegas this weekend. Being a pampered house cat is my wish for my next life (if I believed in reincarnation).
