Itβs not fair that I get to go to two different fairs this year β The O.C. Fair (that I attended last month) and the L.A. County Fair that I went to today πΒ
My mom, little brother and I hit the fair this afternoon. My mom read about a special deal where if you bring 5 cans of food to donate to the LA Food Bank you get in free.

Itβs not fair that my mother tempted me with a Cinnamon Roll within minutes of arriving. I took two bites, but wasnβt super impressed.
Itβs not fair that I looked high and low for a baked sweet potato since I swore I saw them one year. We finally settled on sharing sweet potato fries. I genuinely like baked sweet potato better though π
The fair had a really cool dinosaur exhibit. I still love learning about dinosaurs.
But itβs not fair that one of my favorite dinosaurs was dying in the exhibit.

I guess itβs only fair that after getting my ring cleaned, I bought the cleaner. That sales guy did a great job. Sparkly! I have seen unusual ruby rings used as a engagament rings and they are stunning.
Β Itβs not fair that I canβt get a VitaMix. Um, $500.00 for a blender? You must have me mistaken with someone who didnβt just spend all their savings moving across the country for the second time in one yearβ¦ Still, not fair.
Itβs not fair that the only vegetarian option around was falafel. But, I actually love falafel so Iβm fine with it.
Β Itβs also not fair that because I wanted a veggie option, I missed out on the opportunity to order aΒ BIG FAT SAUSAGE. I bet itβs super filling too. Darn.
Itβs not fair that my little brother insisted on getting a deep fried twinkieβ¦
The reason itβs not fair is, as any food blogger worth their saltΒ sugar knows –Β the deep fried Oreo is much better.
At least the detox juice and wheat grass shot I got before I went to the fair cancels all this junk out right? I mean, if it doesnβt thatβs just not fairβ¦
Question: Did you go to your local fair this year? Whatβs the best thing you ate there?

I haven’t been to the fair in QUITE a while, but I must say that my favorites are the corn dog and funnel cake.

I tend not to go to fairs. The last one we went to earlier this summer was mostly just people trying to sell stuff and crappy junk food.
And I’m not talking about the “tastes so good, but it’s so bad for your body” kind. I mean the kind where it looks like crap, tastes like crap, and basically is just crap!

My hubby LOVES the deep fried twinkies! π
The fair looks like it was a blast.

Your ring is so sparkly! I saw you are wearing your wedding ring “outside” the engagement ring – I always wear the wedding ring on the “inside”. I didn’t eat any fair food this year but a fried twinkie actually sounds good π

unfortunately I went to the fair, but it was evening and not only did the food look sub-par, I knew it had also been left out all day so :S

Gosh, we only have one fair that I know about, here in the Atlanta area. It’s actually 45 minutes away from the city and runs for about two weeks in the fall. I always want to go ride the rides, but I’m always afraid I’ll be on the evening news from a ride malfunctioning. Guess fairs just aren’t as big down here. π
I have yet to try a deep fried…anything! The Oreo sounds promising. π
