It’s the tired talking

I have noticed that one of the most common reasons I overeat or snack  mindlessly is when I am tired. I realized that I was going to be super tired today and tried to avoid unnecessary snacking as much as possible. I did end up eating more than my body was hungry for, but didn’t get too crazy. I will take that for now 🙂

I was really dragging this morning and couldn’t stand it anymore so I went to the store and picked this up. It worked and gave me a good burst of energy. It could be all in my head, but it made me feel better either way. IMG_1866

I came home for lunch because I forgot my wallet at home. I had soup, cheese bread and a pear.IMG_1869

And since I was home and it was easy, I had dessert – Dark Chocolate Dreams PB on piece of bread heated in the micro until soft and melty.IMG_1870

My afternoon snacks were this new Greek yogurt I recently discovered. It was good and had fruit on the bottom 🙂IMG_1871

And trail mix.IMG_1872

On the way home Ben and I stopped at Costco since we were out of milk, fruit and a few other things. Since I was so tired and knew I wasn’t going to want to even heat up anything in the micro it was easy to convince me to just eat at Costco. I had plenty of unhealthy options to choose from – hot dogs, churros, ice cream, pizza and chicken salad. I went with pizza. Their slices are HUGE – more than 2 normal slices anywhere else! See it’s bigger than the paper plate. Ben actually got the salad (and a hotdog) and thought we were going to switch half way through. Wrong. I have decided I love pizza and am taking it off the “forbidden food” list. So I ate it all and don’t feel guilty. Yep, I love pizza 🙂IMG_1875

Normally I am the dessert pusher, but today Ben ordered this fruit sundae and of course I ate half of it! We have really switched places today!IMG_1877

Now I am trying to catch up on my emails and then I am going to bed. I am so tired, it’s not even funny.

I miss Costco Frozen Yogurt. I’m so jealous you have one nearby. I haven’t been since I moved out of California 🙁

I think you did a great job combating the tiredness. I am definitely vulnerable to overeating and snacking when I am tired…also when I am bored and stressed.

Hope you slept long and hard!

I def eat more when I’m tired. And I eat more sugar and more carbs…but at least you were eating something good like Costco pizza! That stuff is really good…and cheap!

Boredom is my big epic fail for mindless eating. If I don’t have something to do or I’m feeling bored I start looking for food. It’s a bit ridiculous.

I almost commented on your last post to not over eat today because of tiredness, but I was afraid it would insult you 🙁 I midlessly eat when I’m tired too.

Oh, I’m re-reading Intuitive Eating to brush up on some things because things have gone haywire for me. I wish it didn’t take so long to seep into my brain.
