Dinner· Lunch

Howdy Howdy Howdy…Today was jam packed with fun stuff. Well, if you define fun as washing dishes, going to school and catching up on emails. But my family is here now and I am a happy little bear!!! They may not be so happy about the rainy weather though.

I broke for lunch before going to school for some time in the computer lab. I have a TON of chickpeas – good thing I love ’em! I heated up an overflowing 1/2 cup to go on top of my salad. I may have also eaten a few handfuls of them straight up too…IMG_2668

Salad, soup and an apple 🙂 IMG_2671

While running errrands I picked up a Kombucha. Since I’m feeling sick and totally believe in its health benefits I thought it was worth the $478.00. IMG_2672

When I got home I ate 2 Vitatops while perusing ads. Then, I started on dinner.IMG_2673I made spaghetti with ground turkey, whole wheat pasta, spinach and sauce from a jar (my specialty). I have been feeding Ben a lot of vegetarian meals this week and I knew the family would be super hungry after a day of traveling so I added the turkey (I don’t use ground beef). I ate some and now feel guilty. I really want to get back on track with a veggie lifestyle. I don’t know what has me derailed right now, but I don’t feel good about it. I’m gonna sleep on it, and decide what to do rationally – sounds crazy huh.IMG_2681IMG_2680

Anyways, everyone seemed to like the food 🙂IMG_2679

After dinner my Mom and I went food shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. One of us suggested ice cream and I thought it was an okay idea since I knew it would be gone by the time they left. Lately I’ve been trying to keep ice cream out of the house and go out for it when I really want it 🙂IMG_2684

My throat feels a little better. It might be the Kombucha, but I’d like to credit the ice cream as well 😉

I try to do the same thing and not bring in things I know I have no will power over. If I really want a soda or ice cream I have to leave the house to go get it (normally…right now I have both b/c of the holiday) so it really has to be a big craving.

I’ve never tried kombucha but if it works that sounds great. I think Amazing Grass got me over a cold pretty quickly

    ice cream = panacea 🙂

try not to worry so much about the turkey (easier said than done duh!) but it happened and one meal isn’t going to condemn you to never eating a veggie lifestyle again 🙂

mmm your dinner looks good, I Just got finished with my mom’s famous spaghetti which is also from the jar but it’s really good and the only time I ever eat beef. It’s soo worth it though and there’s no point beating yourself up. I hate the way animals are treated and all that, but I figure once in a while meat is okay. And I eat chicken and turkey on a daily basis because of the protein and I’m not that big of a lover of dairy, beans or lentils.

I’m guilty of eating chickpeas by the handful! Soo good.

That’s my favorite Kombucha flavor! Plus the bottle is quite pretty, so that helps me get over the price, too 🙂

Kara – Kombucha tastes like a less sweet mixture of seltzer and juice. It kinda smells like vinegar – so don’t smell it, just drink it 🙂

Don’t feel guilty about the turkey! It’s usually a pretty healthy meat, and there’s no point feeling guilty/punishing yourself about it — as I have learned, that’s not a productive emotion! Good luck!

What does kombucha taste like? I’ve been tempted to try it, but am wondering if it’s worth the $478 😉

Don’t beat yourself up about the meat eating, especially with turkey day coming up. Listen to your body — what it needs and what makes you feel your best.
