I was very excited for Cookie Friday 🙂 After lunch I went to the grocery store next door to my work. I headed straight to the bakery and was ready to grab a chocolate chip cookie…but this Chocolate Chip Muffin caught my eye instead!
How is this for a balanced lifestyle – a chocolate chip muffin and a health magazine? Ha. This muffin was definitely one of my “forbidden foods” – I’m glad I enjoyed it, but I still did feel a little guilty. I think I am going to continue to eat foods from my list, I don’t want to associate food with emotion or guilt anymore!
Lunch was PB&J, carrots and watermelon. This is exactly what I wanted. It is so nice to eat exactly what you feel like eating.
I started my day with a DD iced coffee with skim, but I was to excited/asleep to take a picture! What’s my deal?!
Did you have a treat today?

I’m also delving into the IE world. I was visiting friends this weekend and there were fried mashed potato’s on the menu. Normally that would have been forbidden for me- being fried- But I ordered a side order WITH my meal (!!!!) and enjoyed a few of them while sharing the others!! I truly got the whole “forbidden food” thing. I ate the most delicious lunch, enjoyed every bite, and left comfortable and not stuffed. I was glowing with happiness. I love the freedom that IE allows. Keep up the posts about it!! It’s so refreshing to hear someone going through the same thing and not giving in to “diet” talk.

I did make some banana bread yesterday that I HAD to taste to be sure that it was ok to give to my family 😉

I wanted to let you know that your post on IE and off limits food hit home this afternoon. There is a new mexican food place in town but Mexican is one of my foods on the list. I was going to go home and make a salad today but I decided to try and see how the food was. I ordered a chicken burrito that was DELICIOUS! I won’t eat it all the time but it was good and was actually healthier to eat than I thought it would be because I didn’t eat other things in place of what I really wanted.

For dinner I had salmon and fresh hickory smoked goat cheese. Those are totally my “treat” foods. Honestly, if we could, I’d request salmon every night. Alas, not the case, so it’s always special when we get some. And the goat cheese was an impulse buy from the farmer’s market and incredible

I had the exact same lunch yesterday, you can’t beat PB+J and carrots. It’s like re-living the 4th grade 😀

I have a cheat day on fridays, since it’s the end of my work week. Today I had lemon-pepper wings and sweet potato fries at this local Wing shop.
