National Run to Work Day

Running

19 Sep

Happy Thursday! This morning I did 6 miles with Striding Mom around my usual route and one of the familiar faces that I always wave to said, “You brought someone this time!”. He was excited I found a friend Smile

National Run to Work Day

Yesterday afternoon I hung out with my Grams. I need to do this more <3

chillin with Grams (450x800)

This morning I messed around with a Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe – it came out delicious! Now I’m in the mood to try a Pumpkin Frappe – too much?

Today is Talk Like a Pirate Day! So, you can waste smartly utilize 6 seconds of your life and check out my Pirate Joke here.

And tomorrow is National Run to Work Day! This is a little difficult as I work from home. So, I plan on running away from work and then running back to work.

And now I’m packing!

Ben and I made a kinda last minute decision to go to Florida for a week to visit his family. This year has been stressful, he has been working a lot and I’ve been traveling a ton already and have A La-la-LOT more travel coming up in Oct/Nov! We need some quality time and this is the perfect low key getaway. I will still be blogging and running and eating from FL – stay tuned!

Now, if only Vegas would let me get ready… cat on suitcase (800x450)

Don’t forget to enter the Organize Your Gear Giveaway before it closes!

Question: Can you run to work/school? Will you?

Running 30k five days a week is a little beyond what I’m capable of, I’m afraid 🙂

    Enjoy your trip!

Running to work wasn’t an option for me yesterday since I had a commute of over 27 miles each way. I can’t run 54 miles. Or 27 miles. Or honestly even 7. Maybe 2…

As great of an idea as that is, there is not a safe path for me to run to work, and no showers either.

I would if I could but there’s just snatch thefts, weather/temps/humidity and lack of showers that put paid to any such plans or thoughts.

I could run to work; it’s less than 2 miles away! Although I don’t have work on Friday’s, so that’ll be a bit tricky… I guess I could run there, not work, run back and look like a dork 😉

I didn’t run to work but I went for my first ever run straight from the office. There aren’t really any safe roads for me to run all the way. Bummer.

Normally I could run to work since my office is only about a mile away and I run past it most days on my morning runs. But I’m at a training in a city over an hours drive away tomorrow. I don’t foresee a 100 mile run in my future for tomorrow, haha

I guess I could run to school, but I have to lug a few law books with me everyday, so I think running would actually be pretty dangerous. I’ll stick to running after school.

I wish I could run to work! Being that I’m just a substitute, it probably doesn’t look good coming in sweaty, haha! I already get stares when I change into running clothes at work

I would LOVE to run to work, but would be SO gross the entire day. . . my clients may revolt. And I work with homeless or at risk of being homeless.

I work 22 miles from home in the serious inner city where you don’t really run for fun… so, “no” for multiple reasons! I’ll do a lap around my desk.

Work is too far for me to run right now… If my knee was good I could. I have biked a few times. Honestly though… it is all up hill and I require a shower then. I have a gym at work that I use over lunch / after work but I start my work day at 7AM so I would have to leave hella early to run and shower.

Normally running to work would be way too far for me, but I’m working from home tomorrow so I can attend parent teacher conferences in the morning, and I was planning on running, so I guess I’ll do the same as you! Run away from work, and then run back to work.

It is 115 degrees here so if I decided to run to work which is only about 7 minutes away, I would die. Literally. I would lay down on the sidewalk and just give up on life. Haha.

I once ran home from work when my office was 13 miles from my house. I had a coworker take me to work, an I was too embarrassed to tell him why I didn’t need a ride home. But he already knew I was nuts and training for a half ironman, so he only gave me a little crap. Now I work 4 blocks away from my apartment, so running is easy but sort of pointless and kind of sweaty.

Get ready to sweat, it is hot, hot, hot in Florida. Still in the low 90’s. Also, I think I read that you visit Englewood? I have a house in Venice. In case you havent heard they have free yoga on the beach in Venice every morning except Sunday and there is a great running path from Caspersen beach all the way to Sarasota…You can email me if you want more deets.
