National Running Day OrthoLite GIVEAWAY

Running

3 Jun

Hello! Today is my 2nd favorite day of the year = National Running Day!! (Thanksgiving is my #1 favorite obviously). And I’m collaborating with OrthoLite insoles today to share my love of running and do a great giveaway that will help your feet.

national running day discount 1 (450x800)

OrthoLite sent me a pair of their fusion insoles to ‘test run’. Pun intended. The insoles are designed to provide cushion, breathability and fit into any athletic shoes and boots.

ortholite running day blog review (800x600)

You can buy a pair (or win one below) – but you might already have OrthoLite insoles in your shoes!

You can check by taking out the insoles that came with your shoes and flip them over. If there are tiny black specks – that’s them! That’s crumbled tire crumb, signature to OrthoLite’s technology. A few of my old pairs have them! Ha! I didn’t even know.

ortholite review running blog (600x800)

The good thing about insoles is that….

A.) They often provide extra or better cushion than the insoles your shoes come with.

B.) Changing your insoles in shoes you’ve been wearing for a while help remove the smell. (Hey, don’t act like my feet are the only ones that stink!)

C.) OrthoLite insoles are breathable, which helps keep your feet cool. (Which will be extra helpful when I visit Florida this summer and it feels like I’m running on the sun!)

I love that you can swap the insoles into any shoes for some extra cushion and support.

ortholite running day blog review 3 (800x600)

Here are 5 Running Tips in honor of National Running Day:

1. Always tell someone where you are going and when you’ll be back. Or if you don’t have any friends (like me) train your cat to dial 911 if you’re not back at a certain time.

2. It’s summer! Remember sunblock is an important piece of your running gear.

3. Feet first! Sometimes we get caught up in fancy gps watches and cute running clothes and neglect the most important piece of running equipment = our shoes. Make sure you have the right shoes and good insoles (like OrthoLite). Sometimes we can ward off fatigue  by ensuring we have the correct gear for our bodies, gait and weekly mileage.

4. Compare yourself to… YOURSELF. Measure progress by comparing your training and race times to your previous performances.

5. HAVE FUN! This is a hobby. It’s supposed to be fun, not work. Yeah, not all runs are easy breezy but overall if you hate your workout you won’t stick with it. So make it fun and enjoy the run!

sadly, its been too long. my last run was about 3 weeks ago and I did only 2 miles. after my last half training, I seemed to have some knee pain. I can feel it when I do lunges (side lunges are the worst) and sometimes running down stairs too fast.
I NEED to get back to running slowly to be sure I don’t injure myself more
I had thought staying off it for a few months would help but I still feel that pain when working out sometimes : (

I ran 5 miles this morning. The humidity is oppressive but hey, a good run is worth it, right?

Insoles are the best! I use them for waitressing and they’re a life saver!

I ran 3.5 miles last monday. Due to severe OA in both knees I’ve been told not to run at all but I’m a rule breaker and still run once a week and do other low impact exercise the other days.

my last run was this past sunday! covered around 5 – 6 miles right along the shore and main street in my gorgeous town! it was way hotter than i expected on that run, so i died halfway through without any water…. today i’m gonna head out later on the same route, but with my hydropack this time!!
