How’s it going over there?
Heard a lot of you are locked in another storm. Boo.
I’m having a so-so day myself since technology is not being my friend today. I really want to slam my phone on the floor and stomp on it, but I’m trying to play nice.
The reason I started RER was to talk about myself on the internet in hopes my best friend and mom would read it make the world a better place.
Given my frustration with technology I am not touching my stove today. F-that.
But I want a delicious lil treat to enjoy. So, I made a version of my Raw Fudgy Oat Cookies and swapped rice cereal for oats. And No Bake Chocolate Cookie Balls were born…

No Bake Chocolate Cookie Balls
{Makes 9. Gluten free. No Bake.}
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/2 cup sf maple syrup OR agave
- 3/4 to 1 cup rice cereal
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Mix ingredients. Form into balls (I sprayed my hands with non-stick spray to keep from sticking to me). Optional: Roll in extra cocoa powder or coconut to keep from sticking. I didn’t, but I don’t mind a little mess. Refrigerate for 1 hour to set. Store in refrigerator.

The extra good news is you don’t really have to form then into balls and can just eat the batter!
Enjoy!
Question: Let’s be honest – do you eat the cookie/cake batter?
I totally do and don’t care if I die. What a way to go…
Brownie batter!!!!
If I make it from scratch or a boxed mix.. yes… pre-made stuff.. not so much (thanks CNN story on family who got wicked poisening eating pre-packaged dough).
We make similar cookie dough… yum. I think it’s time to restock!
Heck yes I eat raw batter. There have been way too many times that the batter has been BETTER than the baked good. Life’s too short. Eat raw dough.
I love making eggless chocolate chip cookie dough and putting it over vanilla Icecream. Holy moly it’s flipping amazing!!!
Of course. Iam actually not a huge fan of cakes or cookies ( i know, right) BUT love, love, love the raw dough. I’m such a weirdo……
ALWAYS!!!!!!
I have a cake recipe that doesn’t have eggs, so you could just eat the batter 😉
I make the batter without the intention of ever making cookies.. raw dough is the best.
Does anyone NOT eat the batter/cookie dough? I do however chew gum or suck on candy to keep from eating it the entire time I’m baking as I’ve ended up with a too small cake or batch of cookies due to too much eating 🙂 oh and a stomach ache too..
Of course!
I totally eat cookie dough and brownie batter. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right??
I always eat the batter it’s the best part!
My husband said he married me because I let him eat cookie dough when I was baking, so it’s safe to say that more dough is consumed than actual cookies in this house. It’s easily the best part!
I love that 🙂
Uhhh….yes. I am extremely impressed by those who are able to resist eating cookie dough or brownie batter. Part of the reason why I love to bake so much is because I know I’m going to get a nice little treat of raw dough or batter in the process. Bonus!
I’m sorry, but I see nothing wrong with eating a little cookie dough or cake batter! I understand the concern and the warning that needs to be out there to the world, but all things in moderation, right? 😉
Ohmygosh I like the cookie dough better than the actual cookie usually!
I think the only reason my boyfriend and I make cookies half the time, is so we can eat the batter. Actually, one time he made me the batter and left me instructions on how to bake the cookies and I instead just ate the batter for the rest of the week. Awesome.
Ha! Love that you didn’t even bake ’em!
I love your recipes because they have limited ingredients and are yummy as well! Can’t wait to try these!
HECK YES. The day I can no longer eat raw cookie dough is the day that I give on up the world 😉 And that’s also when I start to make egg-free cookie dough, ha!
These are dangerously simple! As in… I could make these on any given day. I’m ok with that 🙂
I would not even put them into balls, straight up eat the batter! They sound awesome!
I wish I knew more & was better at tech – my brain no work that way! 😉
On the cookies – so afraid to make – I would eat them all! 🙂
We sometimes make cookies just to eat the batter! I just made no-bakes for my youngest son. They are his favorite cookies in the world (and lucky me they are so freakin easy!).
I always eat the cookie/cake batter! I prefer to live on the edge 🙂 It’s too delicious not to!
half of the reason I ever bake cookies for someone is that I want the excuse to eat the cookie dough. The calories don’t count in dough form
I am very guilty of eating the cookie dough and batter. Most of the time I think it’s even better than the finished product. But if I’m trying to be good, I’ll chew gum while I bake so my mouth is too busy and minty to eat anything.
I went 30 years without knowing there was anything controversial about eating raw cookie dough!
I didn’t realize it until I took my daughter to a cookie-making playdate and the mom there freaked when her daughter tried to taste the batter. Of course my daughter was like, “Mom always lets me eat the batter…it’s the best part!”
It really is the best! There’d be no point in making sweets without eating the batter 🙂
Totally agree, best part 🙂
I eat it even though it’s made both my mom and sister sick before. BRING IT.
Oh no 🙁 I didn’t want to hear that…
Who doesn’t eat cookie dough/ cake batter? Nobody.
Actually, I have baked with a couple people who, after either forming the cookies or pouring the batter or whatever, have put the mixing bowl and tools in the sink and POURED WATER INTO THEM without even tasting the raw batter/dough. WHAT?? Every time I see it, I am appalled. And then I wonder if my reaction indicates something wrong with me.
I absolutely eat raw cookie dough. Sometimes I like it better than the finished product!
Technology can be very dumb. My phone restarts itself about six times a day and sometimes flat out refuses to let me type anything until I restart it.
Hi there! I’m at work browsing your blog from my new iphone 3gs!
Just wanted to say I love reading your blog and look forward to all your posts!
Carry on the excellent work!
There was an egg free cookie dough in a jar on Shark Tank a few weeks ago. They got a deal, but I don’t remember what they were called. They must have had the same idea, making the world a better place.
When my son was little, I used to tell him that the cake batter was bad for you and then I’d sneak off into the other room so he couldn’t see me eating it. I might still do that….. just sayin.
I’m totally going to to day one day 🙂
