I don’t know if I’ve shared this on RunEatRepeat before but I had lasik eye surgery in college before I started RER. It’s NOT actually a secret we’ll keep those in the closet thanks but I told someone recently and they were really surprised since I had never mentioned it. Random.
Related: I have very very sensitive eyes to the sun. I am not sure if this is from the lasik or hereditary because I remember my Grams’ eyes always watering in the sun too. But, it happens.
It’s worked out well for me in times when I need to cry on command so I seem sensitive. I just run outside and stare at the sun. Then, this happens…
So, I’ve always worn a visor and sunglasses while running. And for the longest time I wore man-ish ones. I’m not proud of it, but I’ve finally found cute and functional running sunglasses.
Last year I discovered Oakley Women sunglasses for sweat sessions. They are awesome because the stay put when I’m running and minimize glare.
Plus, they’re less man-ish. Hello.
I got my first pair at the Fitness Meet & Tweet event in LA and recently the Sunglasses shop sent me a pair of Breakpoint Sunglasses. I love ‘em!
I am a fan of BIG sunglasses, but they have a lot of sleeker versions too.

I had a badass pair of frogskins when I was in high school. They are probably a little dated at this point, so I think I’d pick those classic looking Forehands in polished black/grey iridium.
I love the look of the Oakley Breakpoint! After moving to South Florida a couple months ago I’ve been trying to find the perfect ‘non-manish’ sunglasses for all these bright sunny days while running. I still haven’t found the perfect pair but Oakley’s may be the perfect match! If I don’t win, I’ll have to give them a try!

I’ve been wanting those sunglasses FO’EVA they are adorable. I have the same weirdly sensitive eyes and end up wearing my regular sunglasses for most runs which end up foggy and gross after 5 mins in Florida’s humidity. So basically I NEED these.
The breakpoint ones look like my everyday ones, so I’m going to go with those.
Also, I like the redesign! Much fresher.

Funny I just noticed my favorite pair was scratched and was looking for new ones online. I love the look of the one’s you have on. The Urgency look nice too.
I love Oakleys and then started buying cheap sunglasses because I always scratched them! I am now running in Optic Nerve (not cheap) but they fog up.
My favorite style are aviators. I like the “feedback” style above.
OH, I think I’ll go for the “Forehand Black” sunglasses, since that’s my name anyway. Though I do love the “Changeover Mademoiselle” glasses.

I find it so incredibly difficult to find sunglasses that I think look good on me! I like them not too big, avoid all bling, and stick to dark colors. I did have a pair of Oakleys that I loved for awhile, but the style was discontinued. I would love to get another pair!! Now that I’m running a bit more, I definitely need better protection! I definitely have man-ish running sunglasses (I won them at my second tri). They’re nice, but, yeah, not very cute. I am like you and, though I haven’t had lasik, I have sun-sensitive eyes and have to have sunglasses outside (though, the opposite part is cool, I can see well in very low light). Wow. lots of different options, but I think I like the Urgency Raspberry Spritzer the best! I have to wear sunglasses all the time too, same issue with the sun sensitivity. I’ve heard it’s because I have light blue eyes, but who knows how scientific that is!

I don’t have any sunglasses for running but I love (need) the Urgency glasses.
Just tried on oakley aviators in the store the other day! Love that they have those little things so the nose pieces dont get stuck in your hair!
While there are TONS of their sunglasses that I love, I haven’t had lasik yet (crocodile tears on that one), but desperately want it! I’ve been running in just my regular glasses and it SUCKS. I had cute prescription sunglasses and then my car got broken into and they were in the center console. They stole them and I shed a tear as I realized that was $300 down the toilet. I haven’t been able to replace them and it’s been quite a few years. I took a look at the ones you can easily make prescription and really like the Urgency, Confront, Overtime and Underspin line. They do have more sport/running specific ones, but I am selfish and want to look cute and wear them during non-running times too 🙂 Also, if I ever get lasik, they have about a million more styles I’d want!
My eyes start burning like crazy out of nowhere and then water profusely. It’s really random and really weird and not convenient at all… especially when I’m driving haha

Like the Break Points
I really really really need sunglasses for running. My blue eyes are so sensitive. I end up just staring at the ground to avoid the sun
I like the break point in the black. I also had LASIK 6 years ago. I wear sunglasses all the time. I believe it’s due to the sensitivity after surgery. Love it though.

i had lasik a few years ago, as well, and my eyes are really sensitive. i ALWAYS wear sunglasses when i’m outside, otherwise it bugs my eyes. like you, i’m not sure if it’s genetic or if it’s because of the surgery… either way, i’m just thankful that my vision has improved!

I have been eyeing the break point sunglasses for a while, but haven’t justified the purchase because my regular ole’ man-ish sunglasses do the trick. Maybe I’ll have to accidentally misplace those bad boys for a while…

I have a pair of Oakley Urgency that are my favorite pair of sunglasses EVER! great for running miles or errands.
Mine are man-ish, but I’m strangely ok with it. They are Suncloud brand and work pretty well for under $50!
I love the Forehand Rose Quartz shades…they’re so fun!
I wear a pair of Oakley Half Jackets. And they are my favorite sunglasses for pretty much everything!

Oakley Women Commit SQ in Brown Sugar…I don’t tend to wear sunglasses in running (I like a visor), but there are days (like this past weekend where I kind of wish I did). Would be interested to try them again. Why don’t I usually wear them? Had a bad experience with sunglasses in a half-marathon where I took them on/off and slid them up on my head when not wearing them. They got all sweaty, nasty from my hair and then I put them back on and all the sweat got in my eyes, it was a bad time!

I have always tried cheap sunglasses to run in case I wanted to throw them off I wouldn’t care if I lost them. They always bounce around on my face and are uncomfortable though!

I actually have never worn Oakley sunglasses! My eyes are also very sensitive to the sun :/ (blue eyes, what are ya gonna do?), so I’m looking for a good pair of sunglasses that don’t give me headaches when I run. Those are the absolute worst… I’ll have to give Oakley a try! I LOVE yours!

I like the RPM Squared… but… I always have problems fitting sunglasses. They slide down my nose, sit crooked on my face, and often are just too big. The Asian Fit option on some of the Oakley sunglasses sounds interesting.
I love those urgency tortoise brand oakley glasses. My oakley glasses I run with now are way too scratched AND are men’s since they’re the only ones I’ve found that stay on my face!

I just started wearing a hat this past weekend. Helped so much I can’t believe I haven’t been wearing them for years. I’m a big fan of the Feedback Gunmetal OO4079-07 Polarised, but no surprise there, I have a love affair with aviators.
