One December Goal

Uncategorized

1 Dec

Happy Thursday! I woke up bright dark and early for boot camp again. I hope my body gets used to this new schedule soon! After camp I did an easy 4 miles.

On the way home I called Ben and he was already at work for an early meeting, but forgot he ran out of breakfast stuff there. He asked me to stop somewhere to get him something. I went to a cute little place he raves about.IMG_2820 (800x600)

I got a coffee for myself SmileIMG_2817 (600x800)

and stole a bite of his food.\IMG_2825 (800x600)

When I got home I made my own egg sandwich. Lots of onions… IMG_2829 (800x600)

IMG_2830 (800x600)

I paired it with a  Hachiya Persimmon and grapes. These persimmons are supposed to be eaten very ripe and soft. The Fuyu kind are smaller and harder.IMG_2833 (800x600)

It’s December! Crazy right? I’m not ready for Christmas or traveling or anything. Can we just freeze time for a while so I can catch up?

I think I made too many November goals and basically failed at all of them.

So, I’m going to make ONE December goal. I’ve had a night time eating habit since high school and want to knock it out now. This month I will not eat after dinner. Not a handful of cereal. Not a bite of Ben’s cookie. Not yogurt so I can sneak a ton of granola. Nothing. Done.

Question: Got any December goals?

I’m going to join you on this challenge. Bedtime eating is the nemesis I have felt completely powerless against for ages. I have to have something in my belly when I go to bed. It’s weird. 🙁 Especially when I almost always wake up with a stomach ache from said snack.

I had a snack last night (12/1) so I will start today.

Hmm I like having a snack before bed, otherwise my stomach keeps me up. But I do think I’ll make a goal of not allowing guilt to creep into my December. Guilt for anything that I should feel guilty about.

The number once thing that stopped me from eating after dinner… i started Knitting…. I never want to have dirty hand when knitting…. I find and evening work out/shower/bed also helps…. Keeping busy is what has helped me…

That is my goal too…and I’ve failed two nights in a row. Maybe we should call each other after dinner every night to remind each other the kitchen is closed? LOL.

My worst habit is late-night eating habit. It’s almost as if even when I don’t want the food (which I normally do anyways) I still eat it; almost like an obligation or something. I guess that’s what habits are…

Ooo, those are some nice prices. Even if the portions are skimpy, the breakfast options seem pretty easily customizable by ordering 2-3 (4? lol) of them. Yum.

Hmm, my December goal? Make it through these last 2 weeks of the semester! This has been my busiest and most stressful semester yet, and I have a crazy amount of work due in these final weeks. I just need to survive! haha

Your post inspired me to set some December goals for the blog world to see as well! I’m pretty good with my water consumption except for the weekends so I wanna work on that & I am trying to hold myself to one dessert a day…I’m obsessed with sweets so it will definitely be pretty hard to keep that goal through the holidays. But I will try!

BTW i just tried a persimmon for the first time this weekend because I always see them on your blog. Good, not great 😉

I thought of you last night. My dinner consisted of a sweet potato (sliced, lightly pan fried in a touch of olive oil), one egg over medium, and some hummus dip my step-mom made (hummus, greek yogurt, cucumber, and red pepper). It was such a weird but delicious mix of food and it screamed RER meal to me. 🙂 Thanks for inspiring me to think outside the box.
PS. I did night snack. My dessert was a 1/4 cup of pistachios and a small dove dark chocolate and I do not feel the least bit guilty.

$.99 for breakfast? I think some guys like places because they’re cheap, not because the food is all that good. 🙂

My goal for December is to enjoy it as much as possible. So many times I get caught up on the shopping and superficial activities that I forget to take time to breathe and just take pleasure in the season and what it means. We’ll see how well I do! I just can’t seem to enjoy the moment!

I always snack at night. It seems that I eat a little in the morning and more as the day goes on. I’m going to try eating a larger, more filling breakfast and eat less after dinner.

One goal—>25 day challenge. From now until Christmas I will be in the gym (or running) for at least 90mins a day–every day. My Christmas present to myself will be losing a few pounds and making a new years resolution to maintain my weight instead of the typical “this year I will lose those last 5lbs”.

My December goal is to start cross fit! I’m doing the Holiday Half on the 11th (where I would stalk SR except she will run twice as fast as me) and then after that its time to get ripped. And learn new things. And maybe drop a little body fat. And learn how to be badass.

Night time snacking is the worst. And that’s when I want treats. What helps me a lot is the fact that when I work out after work I don’t get home until like 7:30 and I eat dinner, maybe watch 1 tv show and then go to bed. I’m not up, bored, snacking.

I have always been an evening snacker, but I think it has to do with how early I eat dinner. I usually eat between 5 and 6, so if I don’t have a snack around 8:30, by the time I am getting to bed at 11 I’m starved unless I have had a really large dinner or something. Instead of trying to break the habit (because it would mean changing my meal schedule around), I just try not to eat sweets/junk when I late-snack.

I think I want to join you on that. It’s such a bad habit and I notice I sleep better when I don’t eat later at night. Now if I know I’m going to want a snack or something sweet, I’ll make it PART of my dinner.
