Run Eat Repeat

Only in Florida…

My Life

Hello! Here are a few things that would only happen to me in Florida…

1. Get stuck trying to work in the conference area that is quiet 98% of the time, but suddenly has a homeowners meeting. I couldn’t really escape without causing a scene so I enjoyed the provided refreshments! Ha! And at the end the lady leading the meeting was like, “Now we’ll let this girl get back to her studying.” and gestured to me. Guess I wasn’t fooling anyone.

2.  Gorgeous sunsets on beached that are not over-crowded (like in SoCal).

got the sun (800x600) with ben on marco island (800x600)

3. Dolphin photo-bombing my picture! Check my instagram here for that.

4. Got to Ben’s parents house late last night and was about to put my hand on the door knob to get inside when I realized there was a huge frog just hanging out on the knob!!! AHHHHH! I almost touched it.

i almost touched this frog (600x800)

5. Running along no problem when suddenly the clouds open up and drop gallons and gallons of water on me! I was completely drenched in 2 minutes – and was 4 miles away from the house! So, I just accepted my fate and ran in the downpour.

Then, a semi-truck passed and completely splashed me!!

Instant replay:

getting covered in snow

My reaction:

me in the rainsad in the rain

Not really. I laughed because I was so drenched already it didn’t even matter and was kinda funny. Only here.

Tip: If you need to sing someone happy birthday, but don’t have a candle you can use a Q-tip with a little bit of vaseline on the end. Be careful. But it works!

Question: What’s the weather where you are today? Is there something that would only happen where you live??

Disclaimer: Be careful if you try the Qtip thing. I’m not responsible if you ruin your life or your friend’s birthday or other.

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

Not sure where in FL you are, but yesterday (in my neck of the woods) we got EIGHT inches of rain! Monsoon season 🙂

The weather here was PERFECT today both for running and moving! I’m not sure what only happens in Ithaca, except our town slogan is “Ithaca, N.Y. 12 square miles surrounded by reality”

I’d prefer a cute little frog to the lizards we have crawling around all over the place right now. The stupid ugly bastards are everywhere.

I live in Boulder. After our solid six weeks of rain, now we just have convective thunderstorms. Meaning, when I’m out on my long run it’s likely that I may get hailed on or struck by lightning while the sun is shining half a mile away.
But anyway…I went to Celestial Seasonings today and they have watermelon lime zinger tea!!!! Of course I got a box. I see many iced teas and watermelon tea cocktails in my future.

We get those random pop-up showers all the time in lower Alabama. They actually tend to cool things off for a little bit, so I’m fine with it. I can only imagine the “only in Alabama” jokes that are out there …

The same thing happened to me last night. I was walking to the train and a car drove through a puddle and completely drenched me. Good times Chicago, good times.

Well, since you’re in my town today, I guess you pretty much summed it up.

P.S. Be careful of those Florida tree frogs, they love to hide out and sneak up on you. Once jumped right on my head as I walked out the door and I am still freaked out over it!

Doesn’t the beach look so weird now that the Marriott is under construction? My cousin and I put our chairs down on that part of the beach every day a few weeks ago and it was almost like we were on a private beach!

Oregon is gorgeous today, in the 80s, everyone is happy and seasonal-affective disorder has gone into hibernation for the year.

And there are so many “only in Portland” things that Portland has its own show (Portlandia). As much as I hate to admit it, it’s pretty true to form.

High is in the 90s and feels like hotter. Summer in Austin is here…

So many “only in Austin” things, but the first one that comes to mind is that almost every patio at a bar, restaurant, or coffee shop is dog friendly. You rarely ever go out without seeing at least one pooch.

I was CRACKING up at your post! The singing in the rain had me laughing so hard I almost cried! haha. Only in Ohio would yesterday be 50 degrees and today be 90! 🙂

Rainy off and on and humid. Today is gloomy and relatively warm/humid, but no rain yet!!
Snow one day and 70 degrees the next is not uncommon around here.

It’s in the low 80s today. Sunny too!
Oh NYC in the winter time you have to be sure not to get slushed! The gross half melted, dirty snow that kicks up from the taxis, buses and other vehicles.

We had a little bit (a lotta bit) of Florida weather here in the OC today! So you’re really not missing much.

We could classify so many things as “only in California”…where do I begin?

It’s just hot here today – 96 degrees. I’m in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I’m not sure where else you can have tornado warnings, hail, and an earthquake all in the same day.

If you are interested in going into school sports you
will need to look into certification and courses. They
have won two Southeast Conference championships as of 2010 and have been in the Women’s College World
Series twice. Have you ever felt that there is more to nutrition and health than merely telling people what to eat and what not to eat.
