AHHHHH! I just got home from the Oscars Red Carpet Experience. My brain is reeling from all the excitement and fun and the carpet was such an elegant piece and pleasing to the eye so thanks to www.zerorez.com/ for cleaning it thoroughly. I just want to share the highlights because I know you have to get back to work/school/your own life…

I started early in the morning – the red carpet opens around 2pm. But because of security and logistics people with tickets to the red carpet bleachers had to be there around 10:30am! I started my day with a short run and then rushed out the door to get to LA in time.

I got the golden ticket! The Academy had a strict rule against showing the ID badges so all I can show you this is crumpled up envelope. #Classy

Since we were there so early Maybelline and People magazine had some fun stuff to do while we waited. There was a long line for the make-up and nails so I ended up getting out of line to hang out with people.

I did get in on the fun selfie station. Check out RunEatRepeat on Instagram here for the action version!

I was invited to the Red Carpet bleachers by United. There were four other bloggers that joined the party – travel bloggers and one fashion blogger.

(I tagged them in this Instagram photo to follow.)
When we arrived we got a great gift bag full of snacks and other fun goodies.

Everyone’s starving themselves to get red carpet ready and I’m over here crunching on chips…

The GREAT thing is I actually really love this Maybelline lip gloss (seriously bought two new ones this week) and Maybelline mascara so I am very happy about this!

Lunch! My third favorite meal of the day.

Finally there was some action on the red carpet so we headed to our seats! Good thing is that there are telescopic bleacher installations!
First things first – the TV hosts arriving.

That Michael guy from Kelly & Michael.

Robin Roberts.

Wolfgang Puck’s amazing food spread. He was interviewed as much as the actors and actresses!

Felicity Jones – Best Actress Nominee

Adam Levine.

It was raining! It never rains here, what the heck?! Luckily there were tents up. But, I had a great seat in the front, on the end – that also meant I got wet. (Luckily I’m not made of sugar, I just eat it non-stop.)

Julianne Moore. She won Best Actress!

Anna Wintour.

Octavia Spencer

Anna Farris and Chris Pratt

Eddie Murphy.

Meryl Streep

Scarlett Johansen

Anna Kendrick.

Keira Knightley. Pregnant and gorgeous.

Bradley Cooper. Dream boat.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigan. Legend’s Oscar acceptance speech was great too! Check out his performance with Common here.

The red carpet story you’re not going to hear anywhere else…
Oprah stepped on Lady Gaga’s dress and she turned around to be like ‘WTF’ but then saw it was Queen Oprah and was more like ‘sorry my dress got in your way’…

Lady Gaga looked awesome! Some critics are saying her performance was the best of her career. Check out Lady Gaga’s Oscar performance here.

Jennifer Aniston.

Reese Witherspoon.

And finally, my spirit animal… Jennifer Lopez.

The entire day was amazing!

So much fun!! I don’t even care that it was a little drizzly – I was walking on sunshine.

And just like that I’m headed back to the real world… this was my view walking away. Finally I’d like to just thank myself for not falling on the slippery sidewalk – there were two close calls!

Oh my shit balls. I love how many famous people you were able to see! LOL What a freakin’ experience. So awesome.
I’m super jealous!!! Also, I was excited to see the actors around Octavia Spencer were people from the show she was recently on, Red Ban Society. Sadly it only lasted one season, but I LOVED it, and especially her on it! 🙂 I’m most jealous of Bradley Cooper and Anna Kendrick though. lol
What a cool experience you got to have!! I love Reese Witherspoon and Bradley Cooper. Not gonna lie, I’m a little jealous you saw them both!
OMG!! This is soo cool!!! With Bradley Cooper and Adam Levine so close I would have died of happiness!!! I envy you for that and for the M&Ms!! lol
This is so awesome! How great that you got this opportunity! I’m star struck just looking at the pics. It’s a toss up for me between Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez. I love both of those classy, gorgeous ladies.
The best thing I did today was had dinner with girlfriends. The best thing I ate was pizza!!!
I just happened to be in LA this weekend visiting family. I think they were mad bc it never rains except when my husband and I come and visit. I was wondering how it was so bright and fancy on the TV when the weather outside was so dreary, but voila the magic of tents and lights!
The best thing I ate this weekend was Nobu in Malibu where I was sitting next to Hilary Swank’s table! I think you saw more celebrities though, so you win.
your pictures are by far the best I have seen
So freaking awesome!!
Seriously, that’s the coolest thing ever. I love the Oscars but something about being there in person would just be so amazing. Love it!
that is so cool! My daughter calls me J-Lo and Jenny from the block. I love Jennifer Lopez and think she is beautiful. You are so lucky to have had that experience. Thanks for telling us about it and do share more about the lipgloss. As a fellow redhead I usually wear Carmex only.
I think I enjoyed your candid photos so much more than the professional ones we get to see. Thank you so much for sharing! Great and super fun post!!
So jealous! J-Lo’s dress was my fave by far. She always looks gorge!
whoa, such a cool experience! 🙂 i saw spencer’s coverage of the event, and was like hey, i know that blogger over there! 😛
Totally awesome Mon!
That is so awesome you got to go to the Oscars!! I love celebrities and I am super jealous!
My weekend doesn’t compare to yours, but I went on a nice hike with my family and binge ate frozen yogurt after =)
It’s incredible the opportunities that blogging gives us! I was invited to the Vanity Fair Social Club for Oscars week and that was just amazing.
What a fun time you had!
That’s so cool you go to go the red carpet! Did any of the celebrities look different in person that what you expected?
My favorite celeb is Gwyneth Paltrow. I just always thought she was always the epitome of cool. I also love Lupita since she has great style! 🙂
ahhhhh so amazing that you were able to do this! it looks like an awesome experience. love the Lady GaGa/Oprah story…and i’d die to be that close to Adam Levine. swoon.
Best thing I did: ran a half marathon. Best thing I ate: froyo with all the toppings after waking up from my post-race nap 🙂
this is so fun! i watched the red carpet from honduras. which is basically the opposite of what you did.
That is SUCH an amazing experience! I love watching the Oscars and seeing the red carpet dresses. I have a party every year!
That’s so cool that you got to be that close to the red carpet!
That’s so cool! I would love to do something like that. Your goody bag is pretty awesome too. I love that mascara- just bought it a couple weeks ago and I’m obsessed!
I don’t pay too much attention to celebrities, but this would still be awesome!
I just love that you were there! How awesome!
That would be an awesome experience! Glad they provided you with snacks and lunch since you had to be there so early. Your goodie bags almost measure up to the ones the stars get.
So fun! I don’t know what I’m more jealous of…your red carpet viewing or the crispy m&m’s you snagged 😉
This would have been amazing to experience, lucky you! I love lady gaga!
What a cool experience – so jealous! 🙂
My favorite celebrity would probably be Amy Poehler. She’s hilarious and so smart . Best thing I ate this weekend was probably either A. my weight in bananas and peanut butter OR B. the eggs benedict with Canadian bacon and sweet potato home fries. I brunch hard!
PS. I just bought that maybelline mascara and it’s AWESOME. I expected “meh” but it’s “wowza”
WHOA! I bet it was so cool to see all this stuff up close! bahaha I love the behind the scenes story about lady gaga and oprah 🙂
I love Charlize Theron. She is so perfectly beautiful.
Best thing I ate this weekend was the chicken and rice casserole my boyfriend cooked. It wasn’t anything special. Just that he cooked a meal for me and his daughters. Best thing I did was see my running peeps for a race on Saturday. I was sidelined due to my mystery knee issue but we had a great post race brunch and quality time to catch up. 🙂
What a fun experience you just had! Thanks for the inside scoop on gagas dress 😉
Congrats on getting that invite! Thanks for braving the rain to bring us all the news from the red carpet 😉
Poor actresses and actors who were probably looking at the pizza longingly! Looks like you had a mighty fun time, and goodness, they sure take ID seriously, huh? I can’t believe you went, were you invited?
