Hello! Did you pile on the miles this week? Or did you pile on the brownies?? Be honest. It’s the end of week one so we’re checking in with our progress. Share below and on social media!
First things first… last night Vegas made himself very comfortable on my lap. He wanted me to look at cat blogs, but I had work to do so he ditched me to sleep on the bed / beg for turkey / ask to go outside / sleep on the bed again / use my leg as a scratching post…
And this morning I woke up super hungry and made this smoothie – vanilla protein powder, blueberries, spinach, ice, almond milk.
Then I went for a little run to pile on 2.8 miles.
It was just a short shake out run because I have a very very very verrrrryyy long run today. Basically I’ve agreed to march to my death with Skinny Runner. She talked me into it with guilt trips because she’s my only friend and knows she has the upper hand since she’s the only one willing to live with my weirdness. Bah. I’m so not ready, but I’ve done worse for less so there ya go.
Tonight I’m having friends over for dinner = that NEVER happens. I actually don’t know if it’s ever happened before at all! Anyway. I’m currently cooking dinner and just pulled these amazing brownies out of the oven. Don’t worry, I taste tested them to make sure they’re good.
Then, I tested another one to make sure the first one wasn’t a fluke. I better pile on some miles asap to counter act the brownie effects (muffin top).

Sabrina Fan says
I did it! I’m finishing that goal today! It feels so nice to be back in the gym after 4 months!
Natalie says
I did well this week despite an injury! I kept to my 15k training plan and clocked 20 miles this week + 9 miles for the 15k tomorrow! Feeling good, but definitely need to work on my nutrition! I am always ravenous during run season, and need to make better choices!
Lora says
OH no I missed the cutoff to comment but I am happy to report that I placed at both races that I did this weekend
Sue says
Yup, goal met! Thanks Monica for organising this – loved it in the previous year and still do.
Meredith says
I worked out 4 times this week. I did a new workout on Tuesday and felt sore for days after! Hope to add more running mileage this week.
Lauren says
My goal was to get 5 workouts in and I did! They were great ones too…the ones that make muscles you didn’t even know you had sore
Jennifer says
Made it 27.2 miles this week. Hoping to make it out for a few more runs this coming week now that I’m fully recovered from my race last week. Let’s shoot for 15 miles!
Meagan says
I completed my goal this week and logged a total of 10 miles! Will keep going tomorrow to continue the week
Jessica says
10.3 miles this week; had to defer today’s 5-miler to tomorrow, so next week’s mileage will be a little bit higher than this week. Because of #POTM15 I worked out 6 out of 7 days this week- thanks for the extra motivation!
Hadas says
Ran 4 miles and walked a lot in the city.
Donna Buse says
65 miles this week.
Nicki says
I only did okay this week. I got in about 10 miles, but I had a 5k yesterday that, despite the hot and humid weather, I totally killed! I’ve been battling injuries this year, so that was a big boost for me. I did get in some cross-training too, but I’m hoping to get on a better schedule this coming week for more consistency.
Alyssa says
ran a 10k race today + a few extra miles to bring total for the week to 27.
Audrey says
I logged 30 mi! It was a great week with great weather. I felt very grateful.
Jen M says
I have been away from internet all weekend, so here’s my week #1 POTM recap! Total of 50 minutes on the Elliptical (goal is at least three 30 minute sessions per week), and 15 minutes on the spin bike. I did one strength class (goal is at least once a week, so met my goal there), and did NOT foam roll (goal is at least one 30 minute session per week). So I met only 1 of 3 weekly goals… I’m using the Elliptical instead of running while I recover from an injury, and it’s hard to make myself go b/c it’s just not as much fun as running!
Robin P says
Only 7.5 miles this week because it rained and then I flew from Alabama to Monterey to run the Big Sur Half with a group of friends to celebrate my friends birthday! The race did not disappoint! Running will get back on track when I get back home next week 🙂
Caroline @ The Little Things Blog says
This week I moved 39 miles in total! YAY!
Chris Anne Spehar says
Woohoo! I did 30.2 miles this week! The 10k across the Bay this am really helped, but boy am I wiped out! I’m ready for bed and it’s only 4:30!!!
Denise says
I have had challenges this week with being active due to my fall last weekend. I hurt my back more than I thought I did. I am proud of myself for actually pushing through and finding something I could do (even though it made me cry anytime I had to sit down!) to not aggravate my back but still be active. Too many times in the past I would have used this as an excuse to not do anything at all. I think I have finally reached a turning point in my healthiness journey!
Carla S says
I logged zero running miles this week and piled on the cookies. I did do 1.5 to 2 hours of cardio each day and lifted for 1.5 hours 3 days this week.
Lindsey says
I believe my goal was 100mi for the month…and I hit 32.5mi last week! My goal is 25-30mi this week! Tapering for a run stinks…but after Saturday, I am on my own when it comes to running. No winter races to keep me focused (but looking into a couple holiday races!).
Kristie says
Successful week this week! Worked out Monday Through Friday as planned and resting this weekend. Looking forward to another great workout week ahead. 🙂
Emily says
It was a recovery week, but I managed to do 6 miles, including a painful (mostly to my ego) set of 200 repeats with my high school track team. Ouch.
Marie says
I got in four workouts this week, and only missed my 10k step goal one day, which is pretty good! Planning to up it to five this week!
Laurel says
I did awesome.this week. Pretty happy!
Celeste says
I didn’t get a run in today, but my total mileage for the week was 11.4. 🙂
Sandy says
As you know. I ran the Revel Canyon City marathon on Saturday and a 3 mile run earlier in the week!
Caryn says
POTM: 5 miles for me. That puts me right where I need to be to meet my monthly goal!
Jenny says
I ran 37 miles this week, including my first marathon! Goal met! Now time to recover this week! I am sore blah.
Stephanie says
I only hit my step goal 2 days last week but both those days I exceeded it. The other days I feel short but I did get more steps than before the challenge started!
Kathleen says
I worked out everyday this week! Got some good runs in along with strength!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I ran just under 9 miles this week. It may not sound like much, but I’m definitely working to bring back my consistent running again so I’ll totally take it! Now, I’m just trying to get the motivation to go run 4 that’s on today’s agenda… 😉
Erica D says
I didn’t get in as many runs as I would have liked due to work. This week I need to make my runs priority as I know I need them.
Courtney says
2 miles yesterday and a rest day today. Total miles: 18. I may need to revisit my 50 miles for the month goal!
Gaby says
Today I did the Santa Barbara Veterans half marathon! I liked on 13.1 miles!
Monday: 10 miles
Tuesday: cross training
Wednesday: 9.5 miles
Thursday: 4.5 miles
Friday: 35 min elliptical
Eve says
2/3 runs, which wasn’t bad considering I had a bout of Vertigo so was down for a few days. Hoping to hit all three planned runs this week!
Donna says
I did *exactly* 30 miles this week. It took a lot of effort for me to get out the door and run/walk 2.25 miles tonight to make it to 30 for this challenge. But, I did it! Next week I’m hoping to be more enthusiastic. 😉
Kristen says
Didn’t quite hit goal but had extra hours at work with the world series win here in KC.
Heather Toombs@therockyroad says
I hit my goal this week of exercising everyday this week. The majority of it was walking and spin, the walking near the end of the week when my butt started to hurt from the spin bike! Overall very happy with the week!
Jessica says
Got my walk in every day this week except yesterday. Made up for it today with a trail ride and hike. Longer walks next week!
Erin says
Okay. A nasty cold kept me off my workout routine, but I still hit my 12,000 minimum step goal each day.
Heather says
Almost finished with week 2 of half marathon training. I’m hoping to PR Houston in Janurary!
I logged 16 miles Mon-Sat and have a 6 miler scheduled for tomorrow. I haven’t hit that kind of mileage in a while so I’m happy!
Things I can improve on: less wine/whine. I need to clean up my diet and run earlier in the day. Procrastination kills me!
Cristin says
My goal was to exercise 4 days & I did 6 days! A combination of walking, elliptical & 2 runs. Pretty happy!
angiejoy says
83,486 steps for the past week- not my goal of over 100,000 a week but today was spent traveling in a car. Tomorrow will be a full day of walking/running/cutting grass!
Becky says
Met my goal this week! Three runs and two yoga classes!
Jess says
I’m too late for the giveaway, but for accountability’s sake… I beat my goal, but realized that my goal to move 3x or more each week was way too vague!
Sunday– not much
Monday– really hard 45 minute lower body circuit
Tuesday– not much again
Wednesday– walked >6 miles
Thursday– walked >4 miles
Friday– walked >3 miles
Saturday– walked >8 miles and did a 7-minute workout app
This is fine because I walk a lot to commute, but I am revamping my goal to make it more specific: non-walking exercise at least 3x per week!
Katie M says
My goal was at least 25 miles this week, and I did 32, so success! The fabulous MN weather early in the week definitely contributed. 🙂
Kate says
6.5!!!! Not too bad for a busy week!
Leianna says
Today I walked/ran 3 miles to make my grand total for the week 7. I was hoping to complete 12 but the weather here in Austin, TX has been messing with my emotions. I really should jump on the elliptical when bad weather happens but prefer the great outdoors, you know? I did however get my 3 days of weight training done!
Megan says
I just joined the challenge today! I received my new Garmin in the mail yesterday too so it was good timing. I logged 9.8 miles this week of both walking and running. The time change will make it a bit challenging but I guess if it wasn’t a challenge, then everyone would do it right 🙂 Good job to everyone this week on their progress! I’m so inspired by you all!
Michelle C says
I hit my workouts this week and have been taking especially good care of myself… thanks for the motivation to adult better!
Lauren says
I didn’t meet my running goal but I did work out regularly this week- including my first spartan race today! Next week my goal is to do more foam rolling and ice my foot/achilles so I can run more.
Karen says
I’m at 32 miles for the week, got in 2 official workouts, trx and a run. Plus 1 night of walking at Disneyland and a day where I donated blood. Next week I have big plans on stepping it up.
Christa says
Only 8 miles this week, darn it!
adrianna says
aside from taking a rest day friday (unexpected), i did pretty well this week. i cannot remember my specific mileage goal, but it’s to do it to it daily.
i worked out every day, few days doubles. today was fun–walk to/from gym-2 miles, then spinning followed by kettle bell conditioning classes. chilled the rest of the day 🙂
Katie says
I did okay this week. I ran the NYC marathon on Sunday and was pretty sore after so I was definitely less active while I tried to recover. Excited to try again and do better next week!
Amie says
My goal was to run 20 miles this week, and I just made it (21 miles). I didn’t think I would meet my goal since I was sick for several days this week, but this challenge motivated me to get out the door today. Thanks! =)
Kate says
Is it too late to start piling on the miles? I may have overdone it with the brownies myself tonight so I’m gonna get up early tomorrow to pile on the miles instead of the lbs! 🙂
Deb D says
I met my goals of running twice this week (10 miles) and strength training 3 days with a great cardio class as well!!
Evelyn @ Runner_Barrebie says
9 miles of running this week! Ran my first non-racing long run so I could finish my 9 miles goal & saw a dead rat on my run. Not pleasant. Last week ran into a coyote. This week a rat. Well it did make me run faster for a bit. Lol
laura says
5 more miles on Friday and 3 miles this this morning a little strength training!
Mona says
I walked a couple miles between the tailgating spot and the football stadium today. I did not meet my POTM goal this week because I’m terrible at math and my goal is crazy high. Luckily I have a great running buddy who got me out and about this week anyway.
Em F says
Met my goals and competed in a TKD tournament today. Going for more miles next week!!
Maddie says
So my goal is to run 100 miles in the month of November. I ran 31 miles this week so I think I am right on track! I’m 22 weeks pregnant with my third so those miles are starting to feel HARD! Super glad to have this challenge to help stay motivated. Loving everyone’s comments!
julie says
I did pretty well. Hit my 15k steps most days. Running a 10k tomorrow so that’s a great way to start my week! Hope everyone else is having fun too
Amanda W says
I didn’t hit my goal of working out 4 times this week. I’m going for a bike ride tomorrow, which will make it 3 times, so not terrible.
Jess says
I’ll complete the second week of my half marathon training tomorrow!
Candy says
I cross trained 4 days this week and ran 11.2 miles this week. Stuck to healthy eating and I feel good. I’m going to try to add a few more miles next week.
Patty says
I did great this week with my goals and this morning was a glorious 5 mile sunrise run at the beach trail in San Clemente! It was so beautiful it made my legs run faster! I PR on every aspect of my run! Really made my day!!
Jessie says
Goal is 17 gym / work out days this month. I put in 4 days including my trail 5k today! So far right on goal! Yay!
Natalie says
I was hoping to get in 3 runs this week but I messed up my back last Saturday so I have been walking (5 times 2-3 miles) and biking twice. I did finally run 2 miles today and my back was happy so I will get a longer one in tomorrow.
AER says
I had a successful week one! I had a miss day, but it came in handy because I was pretty sore after a few of my runs. I ran a total of 14.5 miles this week, and hit my other goal of 10,000 steps per day!
Becky says
38.4 miles in total logged on my Fitbit, get in!! 14 miles of that was running, gradually increasing week on week 🙂 I’m going to aim for another 30 mile plus week next week which may be more challenging seeing as I’ll be husbandless…. We’ll see!!
Marissa @ Run Riss Run says
I got 26.5 miles in this week and ran 5/7 days, which was my goal!
Rachel @ Marathon Running Medic says
Ugh, fail. Work and life got in the way. Mini workouts 4/6 days, not the six I had hoped for.
Susie says
Lots of work hours this week = fail. I’m turning it around next week!
Elena says
Week one was good but limited on running due to taper. Ran a half today and excited to get back to normal running!
Annemarie D-Chi says
3 mile shakeout run this AM brings me to 26 running miles and 7 cross training miles for POTM Week 1 🙂 GL on your super long run … have fun!
Rhonda H says
Success! I did 5 days straight of minimum 40 min workouts, day 5 I actually did almost 2 hours (my long run). I’d say week one was great. Now I shall have wine.

Kristen Powers says
My original post isn’t showing up…this is a test post. Maybe it was too long?
Karen says
Despite being super busy, I hit my workout goals for the week! The ridiculously beautiful weather in DC helped a lot.
Hannah says
2 miles short of my goal this week, but that’s because I was getting over a cold at the beginning of the week and opted for a shorter easy run instead of a speed workout. Full recovery is more important to me!
Rachel says
Well, visiting family with our 9 week old scuppered my plans! I’d say I achieved 50 percent of my goal: two walks and physio exercises on half of the days!
Melissa Kuntz says
I slacked a bit in the beginning of the week because I had out of town visitors. But with a daily goal of two miles, I hit it hard yesterday and today, 5.4 miles yesterday and 7.5 today. So i only fell about a mile shy of the weekly goal.
Sassypants says
I hit my goal of exercising at least 30 min daily, but have been seriously slacking on the mileage. I’m still trying to come back from a quad injury, so the running will have to wait.
Kim N says
I ran 4x this week! Including the Mickey’s Jungle Jungle 5k this morning and Wine and Dine half tonight. I should be napping now…
Robyn says
I went to a kettlebell/spin class today rounding out my week with 2 days of running and 3 days at the gym doing the kettlebell/spin class. I want to work on my nutrition next week. This week it was less than stellar so hopefully I can fix that next week. Good luck to everyone participating!!
Jody B says
I did a 55 min HIIT class today! Hit my goals for the week!!!
Debbie says
My goal was 20 miles this week and I only did 18. We have had a lot of rain so that did not help.
Kim says
I piled on a super-sweaty 13.1094 at Rock ‘n Roll Savannah this morning! First-time half at 2:05. Yay!
suzie says
Spin class, weights, trying to break 200 on deadlift before 2016! Long run tomorrow!
Anne says
I did 5.25 this morning. I feel pretty good this week because I got in some good hill work plus I ran 5 miles on the treadmill one evening which I’ve tried to get used to instead of beng outside.
Morgan S says
I’m 2 week post-marathon so I’m finally feeling back to normal but still had a low mileage week. I have a 10k tomorrow to kick off my focus on speed!
Jess says
I piled on the miles! I’m about a mile over my week 1 goal so this week went great! I also piled on the comfort food when I wasn’t running so there is that. I love this challenge! Such a great motivator just when I need it with all the yummy fall eats.
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
I was doing well this week until I had to stay up until 3:30 to pick up my boyfriend from the train station. Did not have the energy for my run today, so I’ll have to make up those miles later in the month.
Katie says
I hit my goal and worked out 6 times this week. It was pretty easy since I was at home and just did my regular routine. Next week in traveling and it’s going to be harder to stick to!
LauraCatherine says
Week 1=success! 4x a week of running plus tried a body pump class for the first time. It was hard but I kept reminding myself it’s going to make me stronger. Love participating! Bring on week 2!
Tiffany says
It was a good week, even though it was a little “easy” compared to the past few weeks. I have my half-marathon tomorrow, so I ran three days and had myself a nice little taper! I’ll finish the week with just over 30 miles under my belt. 🙂
Lela says
I’m including my wine and dine half tonight, which puts me at 22.5 for the weekend! A little short, but I’ve gotten n some good walking at the parks the last few days!
Amy G says
Week 1: Success! Walked or ran for 30 mins. 6 days and took 1 day off for a rest.
Jaime Peters says
So happy that I reached my goal, worked out 6 days! I really wanted to workout every morning but a couple days that didn’t happen and it was the evening instead. Something to strive for next week! Woohoo!
Gillian @ That's G says
I hit my goals for the week: 3 miles, 5.5, 5.5, and 8.5

My week started strong and I met my goal early….then slacked off a little towards the end. 20 km this week!
Julianna says
I met my goal this week of 24 miles! Today was my long run (12 miles) and the farthest I have ran yet. It was awesome! My favorite thing about training for my first marathon is that with every new distance, my Garmin tells me I have a new personal record 🙂 Thanks for helping me stay motivated!
Jovan B. says
The way the week started, I was afraid I wasn’t gonna make it. But I ended up doing better than my goal. My goal is to walk the beach at least twice and I did it three times. Hopefully, I can start doing it more and more and then maybe eventually running. Altho, the darn time change is hurting those efforts (gets too dark too soon) but we’ll see.
Georgina says
I’m a little late to the POTM game but ready to get going for the rest of November! I had a good workout week- I had a 1/2 marathon last Saturday and was happy to get in a body pump workout + 4 runs
Lynn says
An okay start – exercised three times for a total of maybe 7.5 miles? Not what I’d hoped for, but I did something at least. Plus a little weight lifting and about 10 miles of walk-commute to work. Plan for next week: Do more!
Kelly says
I met my goal of 5 workouts. 3 – 30 day shred and 2- 3+ mile runs. Goals for next week – run with more intensity. I find myself phoning it in sometimes.
I do have a question- how did you decide to change to hokas? I’ve been running in Brooks pure connect but am having a lot more pain using the old ones and my new ones don’t seem to fit the same.
Rebecca Reis says
This week was a really bad week for me only 1 hour of exercise total:/ hopefully next week will be better!
Hillary says
3 classes and 3
Runs! Done!
10k tomorrow !

It was hard to meet my goal this week with the cold I got. I ran twice all week and hunted today. So for next week I am back to my original goal of moving for 30mins a day!
Sam says
This motivated me all day- I hit the gym 5 days in a row! So today was an easy day– 2 mile walk with the dog and some yoga stretches after!
Lauren says
Hit my goal of running 50 miles this week, ended up with 52 after this morning’s 20 miler! Pretty happy with my training this week, probably going focus on pushing the pace next week.
Brittany says
Hit all my goals! Did my 5 runs and working on my build up mileage! Whoop! Pile it on!
Louise says
Yes, I piled on the miles! My goal was met. Walked more miles this week than I have in a long time. Thanks, Monica
Julie says
My goal was to workout 5 days this week…and I did it! I am really glad to be back at it! Thanks for POTM, it really has really increased my motivation! 🙂
Jeffrey says
I accomplished my goals for this week, ran the NYC Marathon on Sunday and did some recovery runs along with cross training on my bicycle and elliptical. Next week will be another recovery week, hoping to be in good shape for the annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day.
Chiara says
Not perfect, this week could have been better, but it’s ok:) tomorrow a great week will start!
Patricia says
Great first week of November, I actually ran more than a marathon (in my week) which is a record for me. Total of 45.54 km. A little sore, but hey, great reminder that I worked it!!!!!!!
Cassy says
POTM-Total body workout today and 30 min walk…..I hit my goal of 5 check ins to the gym during the week.
I can improve on doing hevier weights at the gym.
Ashley Brubaker says
Disregard my first post! Hit my goal for 15 miles this week!!! Made up for my rest days by running 3 miles and walking 3 miles today…and so far the shin is feeling good.
Melissa Kuntz says
Got a bit of a late start. Had a friend in town and forgot to check in. But 5 miles yesterday and 7.5 today in the books.
Alexis says
I ran 6 miles today, I am slowly coming back from a stress fracture and this is the longest I have gone in awhile ( even though I had to stop and walk a few times)
April Ockerman says
I was able to get 7 miles walking and 16 miles on the bike. I only worked out 3 days out of 5 I had planned. Have been having some issues with food allergies so I wasn’t able to get a workout in since I felt like crud. I plan on doing my best to hit 5 days next week. Thanks for inspiring me to get back on my game!! Marathon training is back on!!
Daisy @ Fit Wanderlust Runner says
Ran 10 miles today! I’ve realized on the days I work my night shifts it is hard to get in 30 minutes of exercise. So now I am only taking the stairs at the hospital to make up for it. I guess you can say I’ve modified my goals.
Jenna says
I ran 7 miles earlier in the week and just completed my first half marathon today!
Courtney says
I have avoided piling on the miles this week, instead opting for lots of sleep. I did make it to the gym once and think I will again today.
Samantha says
Went above and beyond this week. Had an awesome run with the hubby and PR’d at today’s impromptu half. Hopefully next week goes as well. And trust me, I know all about the needy kitties. MiNE likes to use me an a human Cat tower.
Mary H says
I did well–shot for 25 miles and did 30! Had to take advantage of the nice, unseasonably warm weather!
Hillary says
My goal was four days of workouts a week for the month, minimum, and with my 10 miler today, I hit my goal.
What I can improve: 4 is a minimum! Next week, I’d like to get 3 strength sessions in and 4 runs for a total of 6 days (one is a double-up day).
Joy says
10k this morning! My mileage weeks go from Monday thru Sunday, so after tomorrow I will be on track with my goal. 🙂
maren says
Yay, I nailed my goals – 6 workouts, good runs and good strength training. Just a bit tummy upset but still went out for a run.
Things to improve: my tummy. Duh!
Nancy says
Work is keeping me from my doing my weekend 8-miler (to the beach!) today, but it’ll definitely happen Sunday. Highest mileage week (~19-20) since breaking my hip in January and having surgery in July, including running two days in a row (the first time since April). I consider that a very successful week. And I’m well on my way to running 90 minutes without stopping (POTM goal).
brittany says
great week of running 🙂 65 km!
Tara says
I made my goal every day this week! I am taking a rest day today because my injured leg is pretty sore after all of the walking/running this week. If my leg lets me, I plan on running more than walking next week.
Jennifer Lytle says
Sabra is my favorite!
KellyPoole says
Didn’t make goal but got 9 in this am. And 3.5 last night. Feeling good and strong after a hard month. Music might be the key. I had listened to a book the week before and it’s harder to keep pace.
Lauren says
I nailed my goal of working out 4 times this week and may squeeze in a fifth day workout this afternoon.
Katherine says
Only got the 3 mile run in but I did get to one yoga class and a barre class this morning. Next week is my longest run in forever at 5 miles !
Kim says
Hit my 15,000 step goal everyday but Friday
Megan dunn says
A head cold left me about 7miles short of my weekly goal, but I made it through my first 20 miler today. All-in-all I would consider it a win!
Heather M says
I reached my goal this week! 31 miles. Next week will be less… Time to taper for my upcoming half marathon!!
Alisa says
I had an awesome first week! The stars aligned and my schedule worked out so it made it easy. I want to keep up my momentum next week. I had four workouts so I hit my goal.
Melinda J says
This week was bad. I ushered in 37 with mommy and household tasks. But I started over today with 2 miles
Mackenzie G. says
This week I piled on about 10 miles! I couldn’t be happier! I took a break from running after high school, but getting back into it has been so good for me physically and mentally. I’m under a lot of stress between school/work/family/paying all my tuition, but when I run all of that goes away! Can’t wait to pile on more miles before I pile on the stuffing at thanksgiving!
Kelly M says
I piled on the brownies :(. I started a really stressful new job and I had a stress eating free for all with no workouts. I’m getting it together though and making up for it next week.
Sandra says
I hit my # of run goals, short on a mile goal by 2. BUT I did walk them (after a run). Not bad for a first go…only one way to go but up from here!
Elisabeth says
I had foot surgery on Tuesday morning & am non-wight bearing on that foot for a month, so I’ve done the best I could getting some movement in. I’m hopping around on one foot with a walker to get around, but I’m getting some steps in like that & it’s definitely a workout for my upper body!
Maggie L says
I am happy with how this week went. I met my goal of running 3 times this week, did yoga twice, and just finished my first spin class! I hope to do the same thing for next week, then maybe increase the running. Next week I’ll be busy!
Adrienna says
I run my weeks Monday through Sunday so I still have another day! I’m around 23 miles, and my goal was 30 so right on track after tomorrow’s 8 miles. Still struggling after training so hard all summer though. This morning’s race wasn’t great.
Claudia says
Truth: Did not meet my goal this week. Too much overtime at work. *sigh*
Jackie k says
I ran 22 miles, which I am super proud of. I ate way too much sugar so I’m hoping to work on that for next week. Too much Halloween candy lying around
Renee says
Only got in about 12 miles this week thanks to the rain, but also did lots of walking and indoor exercises. Only 19 days until the Thanksgiving 10K!
Amy Ramos says
I did great this week with my workouts.
Eating was ok as I am getting back into food journaling again (I am old school and I prefer pen and paper).
I haven’t ran so ncey 5K back in September. I think I might run sometime this week just to get back into it.
Enjoy your dinner!
Lauren says
I did it!
Hit my goal of 5 days of running this week!
Made it to 20 miles this week after a week of rest from the Marine Corps Marathon!
Now.. for next week- to hit 25 miles!
Thanks!
Lauren
Cara says

Jen says
My goal was 10 miles this week…I hit 11 this morning woop woop! I am not sure that will happen every week but I’ll take it!! I also worked out 6 days!!
Ann says
I am just learning to embrace 4:30 am running. Ran twice this week giving me 11 miles. Planning a hike for later and long run tomorrow
Regina says
I hit my goal! 17 miles…I think I made my goal 16 miles per week so exceeded the goal 🙂 The best was a trail run last Sunday at Peter’s Canyon.
Ann says
Just started running at 4:30 AM. Did 11 so far but planning a hike today
Kelly says
Ran 5.25 miles Tuesday, 3.1 on Friday. Total 8.35 miles.
Mary says
This week was good and bad fitness wise! I’ve been feeling so sick, and actually ended up going to bed at like, 630pm and sleeping till 630am on wednesday night! But yesterday I got myself out of bed, ran 5 miles, and felt pretty good doing it! This weather is definitely helping, I am all for the slightly chilly but still sunny thing going on lately!!
Kate says
I’m just trying to get back into it. I did run 1 mile everyday — for 7 miles total. Baby steps or rather runs!
Heather @ www.Heathersmean.com says
This week I ran 26.2. What?? Yea I ran my second NYC marathon and I was able to workout one day because my trainer didn’t show up today and I needed to clean my house after all marathon training. Well-cleaning counts as cardio!!!
Abbydumont says
Got in all my circuit training this week (check) + doing my yoga day today (check) and getting in a walk with my pup tonight (check).
Emma says
I did great with my 3 or more runs (got 5 in!) but 3 yoga sessions bombed. I only did 1. Working on that for next week!
Susan says
20 total most miles were early am on the treadmill before kids woke up for school, yoga and 2 bootcamps too !
Kristen Powers says
I’m so happy that you underlined “think about it” in your writing above. It made me stop and think back to my history of running (not just this week, but since I started running about two years ago). I started off feeling on top of the world any morning I ran a mile before work. Next I couldn’t believe I actually did two miles. The first time I made it to four miles I remember getting so choked up and emotional that I could barely get the words out to tell my husband. It was the furthest I have ever gone ever in my whole life!!
Remembering some of these running milestones made me realize it has been quite a while since I reached any new goals. In fact I have to admit I have settled into a bit of a boring routine with my only goal to be to do what I did the day before.
So, I guess my accomplishment of the week isn’t in the actual running (five days of about three miles each, if you’d like to know), but in reflecting on my past and regaining the motivation to create a new goal. Thank you for getting me to THINK ABOUT IT!!! Excited for next week!!
Katherine says
Did not hit my goals at all this week! I was too behind in work and scheduled too many other activities so I only made two of four workouts. I’m planning to get ahead in work this weekend and say no to some other activities in order to stay on track!
Chummy_Chum says
My goal was to run about marathon a week. And I hit 26 ish miles this week. So, I’m pumped about that. But I’ve been lazy about stretching. And my glutes are sore. So, gotta get with that.
Hope says
I only got in three of my five workouts this week, but I took some extra time off after seven (!) workouts last week. I’ve also been eating a lot healthier! Thanks for keeping me accountable!
Tonya S says
I ran 6 miles this week, which was 4 short of my goal. Tomorrow I’m making a point for my long run that was supposed to happen today. But a broken van and 3 kids home from school for 3 days made it impossible to leave the house. Bummer when life gets in the way sometimes.
Kim says
I ran 35 miles this week! I managed to run every day and capped it off with 10 miles this morning in 10 degree weather. Woohoo!!!
Ethan says
Today’s short run will but me over 20 miles for the week. Next weeks schedule puts me at just over 30. Well on my way to besting my goal of 75 miles in November! #POTM15 encouraged me to actually schedule runs for the week and commit to a “real” training plan with long runs, tempos, speed work etc. Thanks!!
Prof. Kitty says
I ran 4 times this week and piled on 21 miles. Thanks for inspiring me to get out there!
Jaime says
I missed the 5k I was registered for this morning (due to lots of things), but I didn’t use that as an excuse! I came home and ran 5 miles instead! Boom!
Caroline says
YES! I made an effort to get up in the middle of the day and walk, so I got in my mile a day. My legs were even feeling better post-marathon for some beautiful morning runs.
Caroline says
Whoops…the above comment was from me, but the wrong email. this ones correct. Thanks again for hosting POTM – for me it’s a great reminder to move everyday!
Kate F says
I did really well this week – 16 miles total for the week after being sidelined for over a month! Today’s a rest day because I’m attending an early bar crawl. Work hard, play hard, right? 🙂
Tracey says
I did great this week!!! I’m only a mile short of my goal for this week, but it’s early yet today, so I am confident I will get there. I got in 6 workouts and have done 29 miles total so far. I had one rest day, yesterday, which I really needed!
Lindsay says
my mileage was probably only about 9 miles, but i’m about to head out for the day today. did two runs, a long hilly walk, and a lot of strength training combined with some cardio (elliptical, sprints) this week so although the mileage total is low i’m happy with the week!
LizW says
I got out and did something every day!
Run, run, kickboxing, run, plus a bunch of biking and walking. Off to do my 9-mile trail run this morning 🙂
Betsy says
Pile on the Miles Week 1 report – 8 miles done this week! I’m so proud of myself!
Ashley Brubaker says
7 miles this week which I’m quite disappointed with but guess it’s better than nothing. I’m battling major shin splint issues which is very frustrating since I set my goal at something I could definitely reach before the shin splints started.
Paige Callahan says
I got in 3 days of running and 2 weight lifting session plus some cross training!
Danielle says
I did three days of at least 30 minutes, on schedule to meet my 5/days a week goal by Sunday. Weekend exercise days will be 1 hour or more. I’m looking forward to a long bike ride today!
Ashley Lopez says
14 miles this week with 6 mile race which I considered a long run. Now to work on eating healthier!
Jennifer says
Sunday: 18 mile bike ride. Monday: 45 min spin class. Wed: 3 mile run. Thur: 1hr spin class. This morning (sat): heading out for a 5 mile run/walk!! Not sure what the mileage equals for the spin classes but it was a good week! I hope to get more running in next week 🙂
Happy running!
katharine says
Hit my goals for this week even if it required a little strange scheduling to make it happen. Also added in some yoga to try and address the tight calves I had from all the hill work at the start of the week.
Laura z says
I hit my goal most days this week. Definitely reminded that I have to make it happen…it’s not going to happen by accident!
Emily says
Missed 1 workout but still got it 4 good ones! Overall happy with week 1
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee says
Well, I started the week unwell but managed 19 miles in the second half. My challenge is to pile on 100 miles before POTM ends….so not on schedule, but just means more runs to come!
After three consecutive days running I feel great today 🙂
Ashley says
I was surprised by an awesome week of running and 3 strength sessions! Woo hoo! Must have been all the Halloween candy…
Sierra says
Worked out almost every day this week! Staying on track with my goal!
Marisa says
Not awful, I actually hit the gym and rode on my day off. I did not run during my lunch breaks because I woke up too late to pack my gear but I did walk everyday…Thanks for the morovation.
Sabine says
I ran 20 km this week.
Krista says
I did pretty well this week- especially considering we had our first snow of the year! I did run outside as much as I would have liked but I worked out 6/7 days! 🙂
Laura says
I walked after work four days before it got dark (up here in the northeast). Headed out for a run shortly. Due to hit 10 miles
Rheneashion says
Monthly goal to run 40 miles this month got in 9.38 this week. Hoped to get in 10-12 mile is week but life happened will make it up next week. Things to do better next week go to bed earlier
Eileen says
I ran 6 miles this week….a little off my goal for the month (35 miles) but a wicked stomach virus hit my babies, husband and me. I’m all better and felt good running 3 today so I know I can still make my goal!
Nicki Trott says
I am very pleased with this past week. I was active (walking or working out) every day. I was also good about staying out of my kids’ Halloween candy which is a hard temptation to resist. Next week I’ll need to plan my workouts better to fit everything in since I’ll be back on my normal schedule.
Meg says
Started getting sick at the beginning of this week so pushed hard and crushed my mile time on a nice run. Proceeded to become really ill, but apart from just one day in bed I was able to at least stay active everyday with yoga or hiit
jen says
made my goal for the week with my 5th out of 5 workouts! taught bodycombat and then bodypump, then stayed while someone else taught bodybalance 🙂
Becky @ Olives n Wine says
I didn’t run every day but I got a good workout in every day so I am calling it a success! I’m about to head out on a run this morning to kick off the weekend… And to burn off that margarita from last night 😉
Dana says
On Monday, I got a little overzealous with the TRX at my gym. It was that kind of workout where you just zone-out and don’t even count the number of reps… which resulted in the kind of soreness where it takes you 5 minutes to sit on the toilet. My runs were tough, but I got them done and stayed on track to reach 100 miles this month. Now all I need is for these 90-degree temps in Florida to chill out (literally).
Taylor says
I met my goal this week! two 24 mile bike rides, one yoga class, and one 5 mile run!
Jean says
I hit my goal of 5 workouts this week. Run on Sunday. Spin on Monday. Zumba on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Hoping to fit in a run today to be over my goal.
Melanie says
I ran 12 miles this week and did an hour of yoga on Thursday. I kinda met my goal. I was supposed to run 3 days in a row but could only do two and yoga the third day.
Liz says
The running went as planned but the strength training didn’t – skipped one day due to spending 4 hours helping everyone at my dog park search for a missing dog (she was found early the next morning!) Today is a rest day (with some planks and core work) because I have a half marathon tomorrow.
Emily says
Orange theory class
Elizabeth H. says
I ran four times this week, (two on the treadmill, two outside) for a total of 15.7 miles. I set a goal for the month rather than weekly, but this week’s mileage should put me on track for my goal of 50 miles in November!
Dusty says
I met my weekly goal so this was a great week. Got in 4 short runs and 3 strength sessions. Hoping to still get out today for a quick run. Goal for next week is to add some more miles to my runs.
Abby says
I made it to 6 workouts and made it to 24 weekly miles! No yoga class though- oops! I’m in the midst of traveling from school to home for the weekend, so that was probably a factor that got in the way. Maybe I’ll try to get in some down dogs this afternoon. Again, what a great challenge, thank you!!
Julie says
I hit my goal! Worked out M-Th, rest day yesterday, and then a good workout already this morning.
Still struggling with the dizzies, so taking it easy, but hoping to slowly up the intensity over the next few weeks
Tiff says
I did pretty good this week. Hit my goal 3 days and am taking a Tabata class at my gym this morning and running a 10k tomorrow. I feel good about it!
MaryBeth says
Pretty light week… I ran a half marathon last weekend so I planned on taking this week easy (I’m also pregnant so making sure to give my body time to recover!). I did get out for a few short runs, and many long walks which I’m happy with!
brandon says
I did great this week – 31 miles – trying to make the jump from 100 to 120 for the month and I am off to a great start!
Kristen Powers says
Great job Brandon!! 🙂
Emily says
This week was a semi “taper” week for me as I’m running a half marathon tomorrow, but I did still manage my 3 days of kickboxing!
Katie says
I hoped to do 3 runs for ~9 miles, but actually did almost 13 miles. Not much for some people, but more than I’ve done in a long time!
I’ve loved the excuse to get out into the unseasonal warm air (really loved it!), but I may need to switch to a treadmill this coming week.
Sk says
Had a really good week, finsihing up 6th day of workouts by going for a swim this morning.
Amy says
I logged 80 miles this week! I ran, walked and did the elliptical. I have a 5K in the morning! I reached my goal of at least 20K steps per day! Thanks for the extra motivation.
Karien @ Running the Race says
I also did pretty well this week: Clocked two of my three runs and both my strength training classes so far. One more run tonight, and I’m done!
Things I can improve: Less procrastination and logging more workouts earlier in the week. Then there’ll be no more cramming in last-minute runs!
Those brownies look YUM, by the way!
Melissa says
Hi Monica. My pile on the miles was “mehh” this week. I only got 18 miles in. My little love is getting her two top teeth so some extra mommy time was needed. I have 25 miles with 2 cross training days scheduled this week. Crossing my fingers that these teeth come in soon!!
Caryn says
I did pretty well this week. I worked out 4 days during the week and took a rest day Friday. I’m planning to take a walk later today to finish up my POTM week! Thanks for the motivation to move more!
