It’s the end of WEEK 2 of Pile on the Miles Challenge! How did you do? Are you still squeezing in a few miles or a workout today?
I took a 3 mile walk yesterday while listening to podcasts. I think I want that to be one of my goals for the rest of the year – to take a 3 mile walk each day. I just feel like it’s so stress relieving. I come back feeling like I accomplished something and I think it’s mainly because I’m more calm and grounded.
Okay. Now let’s talk how you did this week. Are you ready?

Michelle B says
I’m enjoying the POTM encouragement. I ride my bike to work (about 3 miles) but I’m thinking of walking a few days a week instead. Now, I think you have me convinced that a walk is sometimes needed 🙂 Thanks!
Jen @ Marshmallows and Margaritas says
I did OK last week — ran 3 miles and did a kettlebell workout on Monday, ran 10K on Wednesday, four miles on the elliptical on Thursday, and a 5K run on Sunday. So, I didn’t work out five days (which was the goal), but I did work out five times. And I logged 16 miles, which is good for me!
Kristin says
Super busy week at work so I only got in 3 workouts, but I’m ready to get back on track now!

I fell one run short on my running goal this week but hit my strength goal.

Finished the week with 30mi! My goal was 25 I believe…I am still on track to meeting my 100 mile monthly goal 🙂 This challenge has surely helped me stay active! My plan for this week is 20 miles – I am coming off a 1/2 marathon weekend and need to start making my next running schedule.

I got in 5 workouts this week – 2 really great runs, 1 pretty sucky run that I cut short, and 2 cross training days.
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee says
I’m a bit late to this party, as I was away at the weekend. End of week two and my total mileage is 47 miles. My goal is 100 for the challenges, so I am pretty much on track. It would be great if I could slip in an “extra” six mile run this week, on top of my weekly 25 miles, to get me a bit ahead; just in case.
Jess says
Totally did not hit my goal. Only 2 (not 3) days of solid non-walking workouts. However, still glad for the added accountability. It’s helping me figure out how to do better for the rest of the month (and beyond!).

Michelle C says
Hit my goal this week, loving the added accountability! Thanks! 🙂

Lauren says
I knew it was going to be a busy week, but I still met my goal of squeezing in 4 workouts!
Nancy says
Didn’t run today. I did walk 3+ miles with a dear family friend who changed my diapers when I was a baby, though. In my defense, I’m also having a healthy bit of paranoia about my (formerly) broken hip, because there was a feeling I hadn’t felt in a while in the area that was injured earlier this year. So maybe it’ll be a few more days of rest to make sure nothing bad happens.
Holly says
Hit my goal of 19 miles this week! 7 mile run this morning 🙂 I participate in a group run once a week and it’s great for keeping me accountable as well as challenging me! Some of the runners go a faster pace, so I work hard to keep up!
Holly says
Got 2.5 runs rather than my goal of 3 in due to hammy issues, but today was a 4.25 with minimal pain. Hoping dry needling helps this week. Thanks for the motivation .

Definitely did not hit my goals this week as far as staying on top of my training plan; however I’ll be running the Silver Strand half tomorrow so I’ll more than make up for the missed mileage. Excuses and plantar fasciitis pain won this week, but I’m not letting it get me down. Onward! 🙂
Kate says
15 so far!!!

My week was healthy & really happy but also quite busy. Lots of extra time with Handsome meant a little less time to run. Not complaining! xoxo
My miles goal was 35, I only hit 16. I may be able to add some tomorrow. But not enough to meet my goal, haha!

Lizzy says
I skipped one workout this week, but it wasn’t because I was feeling lazy or unmotivated. I felt really beat up after my half marathon last weekend and felt like I really could use an extra day of rest. I took the dog for a long walk that day though, so it wasn’t like I did nothing.
Amy H. says
I’ve been Slacking on My miles this week! I think it’s due to a lack of planning. I did get in one workout this week, though, and am planning for success next week!

I logged 95 miles this week- jogging, walking and using the elliptical. I just went on a 2.5 mile walk because I was sitting in class all morning. I am trying to have a rest day today- but that never seems to happen. Totally failed this week although I still have this evening to do something. My goal is to walk/run 2 times a week. I actually ran close approximately 2 miles on Wednesday but that is it. It has been a tough couple of weeks and I can’t seem to get a free moment to recharge let alone do my goals. Life is just so busy. :/

Brittany says
Taking a rest day to gear up for tomorrow’s long run! Week went well, had to cut out some runs. Looking forward to those double digits again next week!
Jeffrey says
Did some quality workouts this week. Had to skip the group run at the local running store on Thursday due to the weather, we take the kids every week during the winter months to keep them active. It wasn’t the rain that stopped us nor the cold but those two combined with 50+ mile per hour winds did! I probably would’ve had to put lead in both of their shoes just to keep them from blowing away!
Em F says
Had to move my long run to tomorrow because of work, but I’ve gotten in a ton of miles walking this week – plus weights and circuits and yoga. It’s been a great week!!

Ran 29.5 miles this week and completed three 21 day fix workouts! Ran a little over six miles today, which was the longest I’ve run in awhile. 🙂

So far so good – continued to meet my goal of being active every day this week! I work a 24-hour shift tomorrow, so there are going to be a lot of stairs climbed at work to fit it in!

Life added a few unexpected obstacles this week, but I’m happy to say I met my goal of 3 x (at least) 3 miles, and 2 walk days. My total running distance for the week is 9.6 miles, and I’m getting a little better each time I head out!

Stephanie @ Off The Eaten Path STL says
I ran 5 miles today!
Anne Marie D-Chi says
POTM week 2: I have 34 running miles and 4 cross training miles. I also had 3 strength training days. My motivation is to kill it in the half marathon next Sat!! I haven’t trained specifically for a half in while – I usually just run one as part of marathin training – so I don’t really know if I am supposed to taper or what. So, I’ll probably just cut my mileage this week and pray for the best! Have a great weekend
Maggie L says
This challenge has helped me so much. I met my goal of running three times a week, and taking one spin and one yoga class. I’ve been more active and will keep it up!

This week wasn’t my best because I took an unexpected rest day on Wednesday for mental health, but was thrown off kilter on Thursday. On Friday I picked it up with some at home strength moves and walked 3+ miles, as well as wandered around a cool outdoor museum! Lots of stairs (11 flights!) and climbing. Today I’m flying home and will just see what there’s time for… Maybe something this evening

I beat my goal and ran 1 more day and got in my second strength training today after having to move it back a few times
Arthi says
Easy 5 miler yesterday and 15 this morning! Two miles away from my goal of 40 for the week, therefore, I’ll either walk 2 miles today (while shopping) or go on an easy shakeout run tomorrow morning!

Got 5 workouts in this week!

I am from Paris (live on the East Coast though) and this morning after everything that happened I just ran and ran and ran (and stopped to cry) and thought of the people being strong at home. Want to keep going and trying like they all are.
Becky @ Ok, so here's the plan says
I made up a few miles that I missed last week and got all of my miles in for this week. I’m still a little behind where I wanted to be right now, but I’m happy with my activity level. It’s not all about the miles right now since I don’t have any races coming up.
