Soy Chorizo for dinner

Dinner· Uncategorized

29 Jan

Normally I think of chorizo as a breakfast food, but today it was for dinner. I love that there is soy chorizo so I can still enjoy this yummy meal without having to eat the most random parts of animals 🙁

I cooked it up with some eggs and had roasted broccoli on the side.

I love eating Mexican food by tearing off pieces of tortilla and grabbing a piece of food. I often demand Ben eat the same way so I feel at home.

Ben pressured me to have some wine. Actually, it was an easy sell – this is a really good sweet wine we picked up this weekend.

I just had a piece of bread with PB and melted chocolate chips for desert. No pictures because some things are just too beautiful to capture on film…

I went out and bought The Beck Diet Solution Weight Loss Workbook today. I’ve heard really great things about it and I truly believe in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (on which the book is based). Since I can’t afford actual therapy right now I’m going to trust my life to this thing. I flipped through it for a bit in the store and am very excited to jump right in!

It is a 6-week plan that has a task for every day. Today I did Days 1 and 2 since they were things I was doing anyways.

I love countdowns…49 days till the half marathon, 40 days until I complete all the steps to this book,

Five days until LOST is back!!!

Question: Which Lost character is your favorite?

Monica: I think Sayid is super hot and so is Sawyer.

I think Juliet is pretty bad ass and Hugo is the most adorable guy.

Desmond and Penny make my heart melt.

I loved Charlie before he died too.

Okay, I need to stop.

See you Friday 🙂

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

How did you get your soy chorizo to look so edible? I was making some veggie stew thing once when the same TJ’s soy chorizo and when I sliced open the package, all this fake red liquid (preservatives maybe?) came shooting out. Then the whole sausage crumbled into bits.

Granted, I’ve never had regular chorizo, so maybe this is all part of the experience!

So, did the soyrizo taste as good as regular chorizo? I *love* chorizo con huevos, but always get a little concerned whey I look at the bottom of the pan when I’m done cooking…

Hey! I’ve also heard great things about that book. I’m in the social work field so we use CBT techniques a lot with our clients. You’d think I could figure my own shit out since I have the tools but not so much. Anyway, I’m so curious about your thoughts and how this book works for you. Keep us posted.

My father-in-law eats tortillas w/eggs and chorizo the exact same way! Except he calls them bocaritos. 🙂 So now we call every kind of small bite a bocarito.

Countdown to Lost is on!! We can’t wait!

Do you read pastaqueen.com ? Her blog really annoys me and I’m too lazy to take it off of my google reader, but thats not the point. She just started the Beck diet to, so it might be an interesting read for you to see her experience with it thus far.

asuaercltcign on August 30, 2011 I like that I can bounce back (maybe not quickly, but definitely in a short time) from bad situations. My bf and I broke up after 7.5 years, and while i was so devastated, my mindset now has been more about taking this opportunity for new beginnings and that excites me and usually gets me out of my funk.

That chorizo looks good! I could definitely get my husband to eat that without even knowing its soy. I will definitely look for it next time I am at the store.

I had no idea they made soy chorizo! I wish we had a TJ’s around here. 🙁

Sayid and Sawyer ARE hot. I almost named my 2nd child Sawyer… that’s how much I love him. *blushes* I love Kate and I think Juliet is so boring/annoying. And I loved Alex! I was sad when she died.

I think Sayid is my favorite. Yes incredibly hot but also just all around an interesting character. I don’t care too much for Juliet 🙁

That soy chorizo is too tasty, it’s one of the main things I miss about Trader Joes! BTW, if you go back to get more, you should by some TJ brand Sun Butter – the #1 thing I miss!
