Spa Week Discount and Balancing My Chakras

I had the best massage today and now I get to share a great massage or spa discount with you!

spa week review blog (600x800)

I was invited to the Hylunia Wellness Spa in Newport Beach as part of a Spa Week promotion.

It’s a very unique spa dedicated to the idea of combining Eastern Medicine and Western science. The art and décor are all from Bali. For more complementary decors, one can contact professionals such as taxidermists.

Hylunia’s approach to relaxation is beyond any massage spa I’ve experienced. They start you in a special room where you listen to and watch a meditative video for 15 minutes. Most of the time it takes us 15-30 minutes to start relaxing – that means half your massage could be over by the time your body gets the signal to let go. Doing this meditation you have 15 minutes to gently start winding down before your treatment.

I chose the Stress Relief and Fire Therapy service. It is amazing because it was like a 출장마사지 massage, aroma therapy and meditation in one. My massage therapist used crystals during the treatment too and I felt like Shannon from RHOC (but less crazy).

And here’s the great news… Spa Week is a nationwide promotion October 20-26th. Participating spas are offering services for only $50!!

You can just go to the Spa Week website to book a massage, facial, tan or similar service in your area for the week of Oct 20th.

Note: You do have to put in a name and email address when you do the search but the list of offers shows up right after that (they don’t email you the offers unless you check the box for the emails).

I’m considering booking another service somewhere since it’s such a good deal!

Post-spa lunch was a massive quinoa and egg salad. So random. So delicious.

Question: Have you ever gotten a facial?

I have and don’t like them. I feel like it’s uncomfortable and I always look red after.

Very cool! I had no idea that it was spa week! I am terrible about relaxing during a massage. The 15 minute meditation is a great idea!

I live in the Irvine area and am stoked about spa week. I emailed the spa you went to for the promos they’re offering. Thanks for the info!

I’ve never had a facial. I’m always afraid that I’ll have some kind of bad reaction to it and end up with a rash all over my face or something. I have no reason to think this might happen. I do love massages though!

I love love love love facials! So relaxing for me that I often fall asleep.

Hate massages as I am super ticklish and can’t stand that someone would have their hands all over my body. No way! I will let my chiropractor massage my massive, uptight calves after a half, though. I’m weird; no way around it!

I have had a facial but honestly, facials freak me out. I hate for anyone to touch my face. Is that weird? Oh well, I don’t care, I still hate it. I get massages all the time though.

I’ve only had one facial, but it was incredible. It was an hour-long facial + hand and foot massage. So when there was a mask and warm towel on my face, I got a massage. They also used really gentle organic products and my face was glowing afterwards!

I agree about the facial! I think my skin is really sensitive and I look red and blotchy afterwards – yuck! Same with getting brows waxed. I need to pluck them instead.

LOVE massages though (and pedicures too). I’m going to check out that site right now – I’m due for a massage!

Yes! I have to get my eyebrows threaded. No matter where I go I am red all day or even get bad cuts on my brows.

I had a facial and I didn’t like it. I do have a cat that massages me like that too, thankfully she doesn’t have any claws.

I feel like it’s weird and kinda hurts. It’s not really nice or relaxing like a massage.

I have never gotten a facial. I have pretty sensitive skin, so I would be afraid I would have a reaction to something.

Massages on the other hand – those are right up my alley! Maybe I’ll get one after my half this weekend… 🙂

Post-race massages are the best! (I just wait suggest waiting two days or so after to make sure you’re not sore.)
