StitchFix Review #8

Fitness Fashion· My Life

Hello! I got another StitchFix delivery last week and wanted to share my review of this bundle because it’s actually quite different from my previous ones.

I have really liked all of my previous fashion boxes, but this was the first one where I didn’t like anything they sent me. I’m surprised because it’s still the same stylist that I LOVED the previous two fixes.

3/4 sleeve button up cardigan. This fit perfect and the color is nicer in person, but I have one that is soooooo similar already. Liked it but – Return.

Ruffle Front Blouse. Love the color, do NOT love the cut. It’s too baggy so it looks messy. Return.

Also the color is better in person – it’s an earthy green. Set the bar low on my photos, thanks.

Lace detail cap sleeve blouse. Super loved the color and lace detail on this one! It’s simple, but still super cute.

Note that this isn’t a fashion blog because I had my lil brother take these pics and he didn’t realize one of the sleeves was tucked in… #classy #Monican Return.

Textured top dress. I feel the opposite from the previous pieces on this one – I don’t like the color at all. I am a Fall on the color chart so I look best in warm, earthy tones. I wear gold more than silver. So, this silver doesn’t do me any favors (that’s putting nicely, I looked like a corpse). Return.

Sanctuary Textured Dress. I love the cut of this one and the color details at the shoulder. Stitch Fix is the best about sending me dresses! But, I gravitate toward other colors so I am going to pass on this one too.

stitchfix review fashion blog 9 (600x800)

I let the dogs vote on this one since I was kind of on the fence. We ended up passing on it. Return.

Overall: I am disappointed in this StitchFix delivery, but I have a few dresses from them that I lalalaLOVE so I’m not stopping. Can’t stop. Won’t stop.

I’m a redhead also so I stick to Fall tones as well. Green is my go-to color. Do you have to keep all the clothes in a shipment or are you allowed to pick and choose? I thought the blue one was adorable on you. I’d definitely wear that.

I like the silver dress, but maybe in a bold green color for you…

I tried Stitch Fix awhile back and I didn’t end up keeping any of my pieces. I was so disappointed because I had heard so many good things about it!

I feel like Stitchfix is so fun, but I’m so picky I’m not sure I’d like anything…

The blue top looks good on you; the rest of this month’s selection is just blergh (sorry!).

I wear black 95% of the time, although I am best in jewel (garnet, emerald, purple) tones. I especially wear
all black from the waist down (skirts/pants, tights, shoes). It save a ton of time. My observation of this stitch-fix project is that the boxes of stuff arrive far more frequently than I need new clothes. Is that my imagination?

I am blonde with blue eyes and fair skin so I definitely look best in cool colors. I get stitch fix too and have had some great fixes and some that have REALLY missed the mark. I even do a style board on Pinterest to help. Because of the vast difference in fixes, I always kind of thought they just made up the personal stylist part and stamped a name on a letter for a generic fix. Either way, it’s always big fun to get that package. I tear it open like it’s Christmas.

I got that silver dress in my last fix. It didn’t work on me either…I have a long waist and the fit does not look good on me. That blue top looks fantastic on you!

I seriously have no idea what color looks good one me, and I usually end up buying clothes that don’t work on me! I’m horrible when clothing shopping for myself.

I found out I’m a Spring…and after reading what colors look best, I have to agree wholeheartedly. My closet is full of them…w/o my even knowing what “season” I was. I’d say purple, teal and coral are the best out of my pallet. I have that blue shirt though (yay, stitch fix and red headed sisters lol), and love it. So I’m curious why you sent it back when it looks great on you?!

the blue shirt w/ the lace cap sleeves looks adorable on you. i’d be a huge Stitch Fix fail, i just know it. i’m actually able to wear most colors — black, blues and greens seem to work best for me, b/c i have really dark hair and light eyes — but the ones that don’t work that well for me/wash me out are the more skin-toned shades, like some light peaches and tans and pale pale purples or yellows. not so much.

I, too, had a disappointing fix recently, but it’s so addicting that I can’t stop, won’t stop either! The only colors I know that do/don’t work on me are: white-white does NOT look good on me, but off-white is totally fine. And apparently the color of your eyes is always your best color. 🙂

I pretty much dress in black. I am not adventurous.

I am definitely an earthy color person too. I hate wearing bright colors and always wear gold instead of silver. When I was shopping for my engagement/wedding ring people seemed confused as to why I didn’t want a white gold band but I stuck to my guns and Im really glad I did.

Hi Monica, I agree with you, I’m not a fan of any of these looks either. My favorite color to wear is ivory/cream, but I think I look the best in bright colors like red!

I love purple, so I wear a decent amount of that. I’m pretty fair skinned (I glow in the dark) so richer colors tend to look good on me.

I’m definitely more of a warm tone! I gravitate towards reds, purples, dark blues, and black and grey. I really liked your cap sleeve teal shirt and the black dress. I would probably wear the silver dress, but it did wash you out some!

I have these two shirts that are salmon color that I always receve compliments on when I wear them. People say the color looks good on me but honestly I just buy crap that fits me comfortably and doesn’t wash me out. The colors vary widely.

The blue shirt is the only keeper in the lot. You’re stitchfix stylist needs to get with the program.

Both those dress are adorable! I do love that blue top too. All the details make it really feminine. You are definitely right about the ruffle top, it is too baggy. Thanks for the reviews.

I love the blue shirt. Really cute. But really not my color- I don’t look good in blue. I am good with more earthy tones- greens, browns, etc. I LOVE bright colors though! I haven’t tried StitchFix but so many people I know love it. It’s looking more tempting!

I usually look best in fall/jewel tones as well. I’ve got to agree that color can make or break an outfit. However, I think that blue top looks great on you (minus the tucked in sleeve)! Good for you for sticking to your true colors (pun intended!)!

I’ve got auburn hair and hazel eyes so I always gravitate toward plums, eggplants and olive greens. They make my eyes really pop. Gonna check out the link you shared. Thanks!

I love the blue shirt but right now I don’t like wearing cap sleeved because my arms are slightly bigger. I like the silver dress too but I do agree it’s not the best color for you. The black dress is beautiful on you!
