Stress tooth

28 Apr

I had a major stress tooth (instead of sweet tooth) this afternoon and had a random candy from a candy jar at workdscn8182

and half of this bar for a snack, I used to live off of these.dscn8183

I love when dinner is ready for you when you get home & that’s basically the case with leftovers! I just heated up my leftovers from The Stinking Rose and some frozen veggies. I also had a piece of garlic bread that was part of my fam’s dinner.dscn8186

With dinner I had one of Ashley‘s granola bars 🙂dscn8188

After a walk with the perros, Matt & my mom I dug into my re-stocked stash of Vita-goodies. This is a Vitabrownie with some sf hot cocoa.dscn8189

I couldn’t avoid breaking into the Vita-brownie since I just got the package, but dessert from tonight forward is fruit. I’m determined to break this habit! I actually wasn’t all about eating something after the walk, I think it was completely stress eating, but the urge is getting weaker and weaker everyday thanks to the new medicine infused with CBD oil!

During a stressful event, the body releases cortisol, a hormone that helps the body protect itself. However, if cortisol levels are elevated for a prolonged period of time, such as during repeated and constant stressors, this can lead to increased food consumption, fat storage and weight gain. To help curb this increased chance, pay attention to snacking habits after a long day of work to help prevent weight gain. Try preparing snacks in advance to control portion size or even using a food journal to track what you eat, how much of it and when.

Isn’t it weird how hard it can be to reach for fruit as dessert? I have a sweet tooth after dinner too and I try to make myself wait and then have a piece of fruit. It makes me feel much better than any chocolate would, but still I get the craving for the stuff!

I don’t get a sweet tooth very often but when i do those vita brownies do a great job of calming me down.

I used to eat those same meal replacement bars every day for lunch when I was on phase two of South Beach. When I stopped eating them I realized I felt a lot less bloated all the time. It might have been the soy crisps or something but they made me feel pretty crappy! I still have them when I’m on the road or short on time though. They are tasty!
