Success! Just Kidding.

I wish I could tell you guys that I was successful at not eating while cooking, but that would be a lie. We all know that RER is not perfect, but at least she doesn’t lie. (Yes, I’m talking about myself as RER in the third person, sue me.)  I need to stick with the plan! Gum while cooking, not eat anything unless it’s on a plate, get out of the kitchen unless I am cooking/cleaning.

My afternoon snackage consisted of fruit…DSCN1308

and yogurt with frozen cherries (now thawed, duh) and cereal. It wasn’t good, but I thought I needed some protien and dairy in my life.DSCN1309

I really wanted Beans and Rice for dinner, but beans from scratch was going to take too long and that’s all we had. I went with tomorrow’s dinner – Spaghetti with Veggie Meatballs.DSCN1316

TJ’s veggie meatballs are okay. They get dry in the micro & aren’t that flavorful. I probably wouldn’t get them again.DSCN1311

For dessert with dinner – wine. I needed this. Wine makes my neck and back muscles hurt because that’s where I keep all my stress. When I drink and start to relax it hurts! Does that happen to anyone else?DSCN1318

On the IE front –  My slip-up today is super frustrating because I am reading the book and I want to succeed – I just am not disciplining myself to do it!

Oh, and there is a dead raccoon on my favorite running route. He is dead in the gutter and I have to run by him 2 times every time I run this way. I am sorry he is dead, but someone really needs to clean it up. The smell as I run by makes me gag. Sick. 🙁

I usually don’t have a problem snacking while cooking dinner, if I am really hungry while I am cooking I chug water or eat some fruit before I start. Good luck girl! xoxo

I understand the frustration….even when I know what to do, and know that if I do it (brushing my teeth after dinner works in keeping me from snacking), I don’t do it. But it’s important to remember that habits are hard to break. It will take many slip ups and reminders before you ( and I) can be consistent with a new habit.

don’t beat yourself up over one slip-up. these things happen – you’ve had these habits for a long time, so they probably won’t be changed overnight. slip-ups happen, i beliieve it’s best not to get too worked up about them and make sure it’s only a slip-up and not a fall of the waggon… good luck, i’m sure you can do it!

I recommend the book “Eating in the light of the moon” – I’m planning on reading it soon and I think it would help you out too with your journey to intuitive eating 🙂 check it out!

I love the idea of gum in the mouth while cooking. I really need to do this. I feel like I end up eating two meals by the time I cook and eat dinner 🙂

The fact that you keep trying the IE things say alot though. Its difficult to change and you are doing good at keeping at it even if not doing well right now.

The meatballs are good if you put them in the sauce on the stove in a pot while you cook the pasta. They warm up (as does the sauce) and they don’t get hard.

I don’t have a problem snacking while cooking but I sure as hell snack way too much before making dinner….I always ruin my appetite.

Poor raccoon, if it’s not on a super busy road, most times they don’t get cleaned up at all…ick.

Its hard not to snack while making some good dinners! I ran once by a dead animal, so understand the smelly issue you have!

Rosey – did you like them? If so, how did you make them – the micro makes them super dry!

i once saw a dead deer in the street and i ended up running by him/her 4 times! but at least it wasn’t a skunk, that might have smelt worse.

i’m also the exact same way with snacking while cooking (welllll when i cook haha)

Eww Dead raccoons aren’t fun. Your dinner looks good! That’s sad to hear that you didn’t like the TJ’s veggie meatballs.
