1st Food: Since I ate a yogurt after running I thought lunch would be late. Well, I cooked this leek and egg wrap at 11:30am. What? I wake up before 5 so everything else is pushed up
Chomped on some carrots and hummus while cooking. Tell me you chomp while cooking too…
My Smart Snacking Challenge is going okay. I ended up having some of those wheat thin things with PB after this because I was hungry (I even drank a jug o’ water with it).
2. I’ve decided to refer to my belly button as an “ab hole” from now on – anyone with me? (Sorry I had to share another pic of my innie & outie belly button ab hole.)
3. I don’t feel very fit right now. My running has hit a wall. I need to figure out my Race Calendar for this year. I feel like I haven’t committed because I’m not confident and lost (there’s a lot of things up in the air at home) and scared.
I’m scared of everything and one of my 2012 Resolutions was to BE FEARLESS.
So, I’m going to pick something scary to do Tonight.

Ugh I know how you feel, my boyfriend and I have been having “big” conversations this week and the future seems foggy. It’s left me feeling lost. I am trying to trust that things will work out the way they are meant to. But I am scared and worried I may not make the changes to make myself happy because of that fear. Stay brave and face your fears!
What kind of wrap do you use for your egg-wrap meal?
Ab hole, haha! My fiance had an appendicitis over Thanksgiving and they took it out through his belly button… He found out he had a cyst in his belly button so they took that out too and now it looks completely different! Before we know it, people are gonna be getting belly button plastic surgery 😛
I like what another commenter said about the way life twists and turns. I like to be in control of things, but sometimes I have to let what is meant to be, happen.
have sex with the lights on? invite a clown to dinner? retake the SATs? drink a long island iced tea and then call an ex?
I think jumping into something you have never done before or you find scary is the best way to teach your self confidence. When I couldn’t run because of an injury I was stubborn and scared to try new ways to exercise but once I took the plunge I was hooked with new weight training techniques and spinning. You will only grow if you push yourself. Good luck!
Maybe try trail running to mix it up. So much fun. I am sure whatever you plan you will do great. Remember the hard times build character.
Do you have a tattoo or is that like a piece of fabric? (lol!)
You have quite a nice tummy 🙂
I thought both of those things!
I am struggling with my race calendar too. I’m trying to decide if I should sign up for Disney… what if I’m pregnant? What if I’m not? Grrr.
ohhhh I’m waiting in anticipation!!! What did you do that was scary!?
My mantra for this year is: “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” It helps to ask this oneself!
Pick races that look fun! Seems like you’ve been running well and setting PR’s, don’t start doubting yourself.
Hugs. Don’t be scared, little Monica 🙂
Thanks for calling me little 🙂
I definitely snack a lot when I’m cooking. Especially since my lunchtime is at 10:30! BLAH! That’s like a late breakfast. I’m usualy starving my the time I’m making dinner.
I always feel so unfit. I constantly need new things to motivate myself. Change is good and being fearless is even better! Can’t wait to hear what you do.
Good for you. You ARE fearless! xo
Maybe you’re not feeling motivated and on track with your running because you haven’t made the commitment to races- would having a couple on the books help you get your butt back in gear?
Side note- belly buttons totally freak me out. I feel like they’re a portal to you’re insides, and if you poked too deep you’d be tickling your intestines. Ugh.
Ab hole – love it!
Hmm, have you tried swimming as cross training?
My gym doesn’t have a pool 🙁
Don’t fear this next year..plan for what you want to do..and do what you can!
come hang out, we’ll talk about running: you what you want to do this year, and me, how I can get back to running and injury free. lets do it before i MOVE!!!
When are you moving 🙁
Mid March.
Seeing the word “FEARLESS” made me smile really BIG! I live by that word. It’s what got me through my weight loss and so many other life obstacles! FEAR LESS. DO MORE. It’s my mantra that I came up with! Nice, flat tummy by the way!
Hey girl, I have a question for you that I’ve been meaning to ask. And if this is getting too personal, I totally understand if you ignore but I know that you said you and Ben were starting to think about babies this year. Do you think your running will change in preparation? As I found out the hard way, running so much and so often can really cause issues when it comes to making a little one. Just curious.
I don’t think my running will change while trying unless it isn’t working. I don’t think running will hinder my baby making since I’m still at a healthy weight. Buuuut, I’m researching this to be sure 🙂
Buy a plane ticket to come to Missouri… that could be scary. 🙂
Snow is way too scary for me!
I alwaaaays chomp while cooking lol! Every time.
Somebody called me an “ab hole” on my drive in to work today (at least I think they said “ab hole”…)
Hah, of course that’s what they said!
I have all my races figured out but haven’t run a successful 3 miler in weeks. So… I dunno.
I have that lost feeling too right now. Life just needs to turn out the way that I envisioned it.
I’ll be thinking of you and I hope you kick the crap out of something scary tonight!
Ooooh, I’m excited to hear what it is. My big challenge is to eat dessert every day this week. Your snack challenge inspired me.
Maybe it’s good that you don’t have all your races figured out? I always feel like our lives change and take us certain directions for a reason, and while I 100% feel like you are a fabulous runner and I wish you had all the confidence in the world to believe that, maybe it’s a positive thing to take time to re-evaluate, and maybe even try slightly modifying your fitness focus and goals for a bit to see if you get that “OMG MUST GET BACK TO RUNNING EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS!!!” Regardless, know that there’s lots of folks out here who believe in you!
Thank you 🙂
Good for you! I struggle constantly with anxiety about life in general, especially now that I am about to graduate and try to find a job… scary stuff, I tell ya! I hope things work out well for you 🙂
Amy Jo has an amazing post on fearlessness that’s definitely worth a read. It’s super inspirational and definitely was what i needed to give me a little kick: http://www.amyjomartin.com/2011/fearless/
