Hello and Happy Monday!
I got into Orange County about 9pm last night. I thought I was going to be exhausted, but I got a second wind and somehow had the energy to stay up for the season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
OMG. Let’s discuss!
Fail of America = I forgot my MotoActv at Kristin’s house. She text me during my layover and said she found it and would mail it today. She is THE BEST and I feel bad about being such a ditz. Boo to me.
Run – I did an easy 6 miler with no watch and no music. Just me and my head movies This was great actually because I had the chance to think about everything that happened this weekend!
Vegas says “Hi!” “I’m ignoring you because you bug me.”
With all the talk in blogland about pumpkin lattes and such I’ve been craving a fancier coffee. I spotted this Iced Coffee Blend at Target and couldn’t turn down the clearance sale. Yeah, it’s coffee. It doesn’t taste like anything special.
Breakfast – French toast with sunflower seed butter and jam. It was exactly what I was craving. So so good.
I want to thank the Chocolate Milk team for sponsoring me to attend Fitbloggin. I have been working with the company since Rock n Roll Las Vegas and it’s always a very positive, fun experience.
They support all athletes – not just the top name professionals and I love that! Everyone should be encouraged to push themselves and do their best athletically. I’m not a super star runner (and was self conscious about working with them at first) but they are supportive of all abilities.
If you are an athlete that enjoys chocolate milk after you workout you can apply to Team Refuel. If you win you’ll get $500 in sponsorship money, Chocolate Milk gear and the chance to compete for Team REFUEL at the 2013 Rock N Roll Edinburgh or Madrid Half / Full Marathon. <- Amazing, right?!
To apply: submit a 60 second video that explains your personal after-workout routine—and the role that chocolate milk plays in it. Then, rally your friends, family members and fellow athletes to vote for Your After video to help land you a spot on Team REFUEL.
Applying for Team REFUEL also can help challenged athletes rebound. For each vote cast, $1 will go to the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
Question: What are your Monday Mini-Goals for the week?
My mini-goals: I want to stretch after each run and cut out sweets this week. My sweet tooth is out of control lately, so I’m going to try and rein it in.

I grabbed one of your pictures (refuel-pics1) from this blog post for a photo montage I’m putting together from FitBloggin. I’m hosting an event next week http://fitwithflair031213.eventbrite.com/ and FitBloggin is one of the sponsors.
I just found that one of the perks is that I’m getting to read from some of the awesome people who attended last year!

I love chocolate milk, but I am hardly an athlete

I dont consider myself a runner but I run. And when I do I enjoy it. I trained and completed my first half marathon in June and I was loving the energy and the way my body looked. But after that summer came and I wasnt in the mood. How do you find motivation to do long runs and tempo runs alone? I am the only one in my group of friends that runs and the running group I found are all elite runners so I get left in the dust. I want to get back on track but I cant find my mojo! How do you do it!?
Sue says
Thinking about doing Edinburgh or Madrid? My friend did Madrid this year (inaugural RnR ouside US!) and had fun!

Hi….just finished watching RHNJ (taped last night). Oye-vay, Jacqueline has been weird all season (lately came out having to go through things with son so I understand however she has been misdirecting her anger towards Teresa) , Caroline is just a plain bully to everyone in her life including her husband and children, this has just been a little more evident this season. I could go on and on but wont because I just get so upset watching this show! How about you?

First I want to start out by saying i’m new to the blog scene. I would really like to start one of my own to document my journey to becoming a personal trainer which is a goal I set for myself a couple months ago. It’s so great to read your blog and see all the comments from women supporting you as well as each other. I look forward to doing a lot more blogging, reading, and supporting in the future.
Last, but not least my monday fitness goals:
1. Eat less sweets, and be accountable to my diet
2. Squeeze in a 6+ mile run
3. Fit in more yoga, because it just feels so good after 🙂

Hello Meghan! Welcome to the scene 🙂

Monday Mini Goals:
1. (Please God give me the strength to) Do a 6 mile run.
2. (The conviction to) Do all my damn dishes.
3. (The mental fortitude) Not to forget my running shoes again.
4. (The pleasure to) Reward myself with a couple beer at my brother’s going away party without worrying about the empty calories.
runeatrepeat says
Love this comment 🙂 Enjoy that beer girl!

I’m trying to add sit ups and pushups to my daily routine.

I made up a meal plan last night and i’d really like to stick to it this week, also cut out the sugar and dairy…both really upset my tummy but I always seem to forget that in the moment.

Mini-Goals:
– Start up food tracking again. I’ve been really bad lately and I think it’s because I have noone to hold me accountable. I need to man up and start holding myself accountable. Food tracking works and I think I’m afraid to do it because then I can’t eat donuts.
– Leave work by 6PM. Every day.
Was the coffee on clearance because it’s starting to get colder!?! Agh, I’m not ready to say goodbye to iced coffee.
runeatrepeat says
Yeah, it was the only one on clearance so I think that’s why.
Kathy says
my big deal was simply to run…its windy…and I am a baby…but, I did it and gave the wind 5 miles of what I had!
runeatrepeat says
Good job!

Those women are nuts!
Monday mini goal- to work out 4 times this week.

I am waiting for anyone who needs to catch up with their DVR but I want to talk about it!

My boyfriend is training for the NYC Marathon in November and I had a chocolate milk-banana protein smoothie waiting for him when he returned from his 17-mile run on Sunday! Needless to say, I was quite happy to learn about the post-workout muscle repair benefits of chocolate milk. 🙂 And I’m with ya on the sweets. I indulged a bit too much over the weekend, so it’s time to reign it in a bit! I’m going to work on assessing how much I REALLY want something before I put it into my mouth. I’m happiest when I’m being mindful of my choices.
runeatrepeat says
You are such a great girlfriend! I need to ask Ben to make me one of those after my runs 🙂
Jess @ JessieBear What Will You Wear says
That coffee from target isn’t that great when its hot, but make a batch tonight and set it in the fridge for tomorrow and make iced coffee. Maybe it’s just me, but I freakin love that brand when it’s cold.
Lizzie says
Can’t WAIT to see my video on the REFUEL facebook, it’s going to be so awkward. And probably like three seconds long.
Nicole says
We are heading to Vegas this weekend for our anniversary so my goal is to get some serious mileage in before we go. And to be on point with my diet so that a few days of splurge is somehow offset.

Please stop putting your running abilities down! Just because you aren’t running in the Olympics or winning marathons doesn’t mean you aren’t a great and inspiring runner! I’m 225 pounds and run a 14 min/mile and dream of having a figure like yours and running as fast as you one day! You’re completely more relatable when it comes to running that most bloggers out there who run 18 milers for fun or someone like Kara Goucher. Seeing you put yourself down so much is very disheartening for someone like me who has a long way to go to reach their goals.
runeatrepeat says
Thanks Becca. I didn’t mean to put myself down at all, it’s just when I first started working with choco I was on the team with SR and HRG who both run marathons an hour faster than me! It was a little intimidating at first 🙂

Yea for being back home! Monday mini-goals for my week—finish moving & get the last of my $hit out of my apartment. Also, switch the cable at the new place as we don’t have Bravo right now….not sure how that’s even possible!!! Enjoy the week!
