The Best Recovery Songs for Stretching

15 Oct

Hello! How’s it going? This morning I’m made stretching a priority so I compiled a list of the best songs for recovery / stretching now.

songs for stretching

But first let’s journey back to last night…

Tacos + Tuesday = Yes. (I don’t know math, but trust me on this one.)

your monican

This morning I did a short shake out run to see how my body is recovering after the Long Beach Marathon. I’m feeling great! Boom.

I have some super bad news to share though…

dramatic

My Keurig is being weird. I descaled it a while back and the light came back on. So, I descaled it again. And the light popped on for a third time. When I try to use it the coffee just dribbles out.

Moral of the story: This is why I can’t have nice things. And I don’t have coffee.

I don’t want advice, I mostly just want you to feel bad for me. <—Sums, up my entire life when I share a problem. Ha!

Question: Can I make instant coffee with cold water?

I have a jar of instant coffee, but you know I want iced Smile

Okay now here are the best songs out right now for some post run stretching. I know we don’t have all the time in the world (and if you’re like me it’s kind of a chore) so I play two of these and do nothing but stretch stretch stretch during that time.

5 Great Songs For Post Run Stretching

1. Habits (Stay High) by Tove Lo

2. Maps by Maroon 5

3. Stay with Me by Sam Smith

4. Rude by Magic

5. Don’t by Ed Sheeran

If you need more stretching in your life I would suggest choosing two or three of those to play and just stretch out any tight areas for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!

Question: Should I ditch the Keurig and just use instant or drink tea or give up on life or what??

I agree with the french press comment! The plastic in Keurig cups kind of freak me out. Sending almost boiling water through plastic seems like a bad idea. Most French presses are glass and metal, which don’t leach chemicals. Haha, I know I sound like a hippy but I like to save my “bad for you behavior” for things like nachos! http://youcanthrive.org/blog/index.php/kcup-dangers/

Buyer beware. If you get a new Kuerig, Kuerig 2.0 only takes K-cups made by Kuerig. So any of the fancy pods that you have will not work unless you cut off the top of an old kcup and tape on top of the knock-off pod.

Feeling bad for you and not caring that you don’t want advice 😉 1) WTF does descaled mean? Run vinegar through it instead of water a few times. Then run water through it even more times to get rid of the vinegar. It works for me! I love all of these songs for foam rolling, but the only ones I am not sick of is Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith. <<Pandora station obsessed.

OMG YES! Your coffee maker broke. That sucks. I feel you.

My coffee maker was $8 at Walmart. Your keurig dribble is still prob better than my Walmart drip. Just sayin'

cold brew coffee! You don’t even have to brew it yourself – you can buy a bottle of concentrated cold brew and dilute with water or milk. We use Chameleon, but I think trader joe has their own brand

NOO! I heard once that you could return a keurig and get a new one for free?? Something like that… I’m not sure if that’s a keruig thing or a store thing (from wherever my friend got it!)

I once had a keurig that just needed to be “burped”. I kid you not. It had an air bubble.

But eventually I had a power outage and it zapped it and then wouldn’t turn on.

So now I am on my second one.

That is super sad! There would be a lot of unpleasantness at my house if our coffee maker died. A LOT. I hope you solve your coffee problem soon!

My Keurig has saved me in many coffee-pinch times. And we all know that pinch must be solved or else it’s not cute. Don’t give up the ship!

i second the cold brewed coffee! It takes almost no time to make and then you have a big pitcher of coffee for days!

Keurig takes back all their coffemakers and then gives you a brand new one. It won’t help you immediately but it will help you in the long run!

Cold brewed coffee! You can make it in a French press or a jar: http://lifehacker.com/5211256/make-cold-brewed-iced-coffee

Tastes like liquid chocolate with a huge caffeine kick.

LOVE this. I am terrible at stretching. you get done with working out and just wanna go do something else, not sit around stretching… bah! I might try your two song trick 🙂

also, my bf and I got a french press to make coffee and I LOVE IT. I couldn’t stand the idea of having a fancy electric coffee maker that will undoubtedly just break in a few months/years. a french press can’t possibly break (well, I mean, unless you drop it) and it is SO SUPER EASY AND CHEAP. you should switch to using one! You can even do cold pressed coffee where you put grounds + water in overnight then drink in the morning! easy iced coffee 🙂

phew, sorry for the long comment, who knew I felt so strongly about coffee makers?

I actually have a french press but don’t know how to use it (I know it’s not like rocket science, I just have never tried). I’m going to look into this!

The same thing happened to my Keurig last year… I totally feel your pain! The problem was actually that the hollow needle that pokes the K-cup was clogged with coffee grounds. An old-fashioned paperclip saved the day in a matter of minutes. Good luck!

Man first your Garmin and now your Keurig?? You must have some bad juju surrounding you. Jk…Just go to the Dunkin Donuts that opened down there and treat yourself to some good coffee. Problem solved (for today at least). Boom!
