The One Thing I NEVER Forget From the Store

What Runners Eat

25 Mar

Hello! How is your week? Mine is pretty good, mostly because I’m eating chocolate as I blog. Boom.

I also am pretty excited about my neon sunnies and lazy comfy shorts (they come in plus size too).

Dinner was amazing and easy – double love.

I picked these Salmon Burgers out of the Spiral freezer. They’re wild caught and from Alaska so basically SkinnyRunner fished them outta the Pacific for me (did you know she was an Alaskan fisherwomen in her spare time?!).

Paired with one of the 204 sweet potatoes I bought from Costco last week. I’m going to turn orange soon! Oh, wait…too late.

After dinner I Tango-ed with my favorite tiny person.

And I needed a little dessert action so I threw together this cherry crisp. In the bowl: frozen cherries and blueberries. Topped with oats, stevia, almond butter, cinnamon. Baked. Ate.

I am big on treating myself but not keeping a lot of snack food at home because I have a history of night time eating and binge eating.

Especially now that I’ve been chilling alone a lot more – having too many trigger foods would set me up for a binge.

But I do always have dark chocolate and tequila at home. It’s a necessity.

I hit up Marshall’s today and spotted these chocolate truffles. Straight from there I went to Trader Joe’s and bought these 100 calorie dark chocolate bars. I 100% forgot I had just bought some!! Busted. But seriously I didn’t realize until I got back home. Chocolate amnesia.

Question: What food do you ALWAYS have at home?

For me, yogurt, PB, oats, agave, banana, egg whites, and of course chocolates! yep, that’s about it.

We always have black beans, bananas, apples, peppers, lemons, yogurt, dry rolled oats, turkey burgers (funny, right?), spinach, and eggs! I pretty much can make a week’s worth of meals from that if needed!

I freak out if I’ getting low on peanut butter, never mind running out entirely. Other than that…cat food and gin. That sounds bad but I have a cat…and I like gin

We always have a disturbingly insane amount of yogurt on hand. We can spend $20-30 dollars on yogurt for just one week. I should have stock in Chobani and Tillamook.

I buy over 20 bananas every week for our little family and we still manage to run out before grocery day. Sometimes i hide a couple so i know they will be ready for me to snack on before a run!

I LOVE those Trader Joe’s dark chocolate bars! And totally love frozen cherries. I get the very cherry berry blend (say that really fast) from TJ too. Always have both in the house, along with peanut butter. Can’t live without peanut butter.

I must always have a supply of dark chocolate. Plus a backup supply. I’ve also always got apples and nut butter.

Lately I always have Medjool dates. That or my homemade almond butter. I freak out if I don’t have one or the other (or both ideally since they are best with their powers combined).

Also always dark chocolate although I haven’t been stuffing my face with that as much lately.

I love to keep chocolate in my house also, it’s hard though because my boyfriend likes milk chocolate and I love dark chocolate so we always have too much in the house.
