Hello! I’m still searching for manatees down here in Florida. Unfortunately, I haven’t spotted one yet. Boo.
But this morning I gave myself a rest day and did happen to find myself at Dunkin Donuts! That’s almost as good as a manatee. Kinda.
I walked there and back for a totally of 5 miles. Pretty good.
Okay let’s talk about our favorites from the week because I have collected a ton of them AND I have a pretty cool sweepstakes for your favorite charity too! (Obviously DD is one of my favorites and got an honorable mention above.)
1. Cheese. On bread. On crackers. In my mouth. I can’t get enough.
2. Flat Florida. I love that this area is sooo flat. It makes running in the heat/humidity so much easier for sure. Plus, I do appreciate that it’s not actually hot here yet (by FL standards).
3. Ice cream. Daily. Nightly. Both. I’m a master of picking out all the good stuff in ice cream, but this stuff is so packed with cookie dough that I’ve destroyed it.
4. Ocean breeze. Ahhhhh. I really love it.
5. Meb for Mortals – I keep putting off reviewing it because I’m not done. Really trying to soak this one in
6. 18 minute naps. Random, but I set my alarm for an eightteen minute nap yesterday and today when I started to crash. It really helps. Between the jet lag and all the running I do it is super necessary. Trust.

You run in the mornings? Ever done any evening runs in FL? How high does the temp go?
Sara says
Oh my goodness – I am the same way with cheese. Literally. Put it on anything and it goes in my mouth 🙂

My favorite things this week are the home made whoopie pies my mil made, heaven on Earth, and my new running shirt that says Run Rest Repeat. I still like the saying Run Eat Repeat much better though! Old Navy might be doing knock offs of your shirts, ha!
runeatrepeat says
Someone told me that about Old Navy! I have to check it out.

For manatees in Floroida, you have to come when it is colder. There is theTECO plant of I 75 and they are there when it is cold out!

My favorite thing this week is our new mattress! We’ve needed one for years and it’s so nice! I’ve been sleeping like a rock. It’s glorious.

Quest Bars. Pb&j is pretty, pretty, amazing! Also, sunny warm days.
Dacia says
I think it is too warm for the manatees. Manatees all come in from the gulf to the warm springs for the winter but once the water is warm in the gulf they go back out. The only manatees that stay in the springs are the pregnant ones and the ones that just had babies. Winter is the best time to spot manatees 🙂
Molly @ Motherhood and Marathons says
I hope you see a manatee! My favorite thing this week was the Banzai burger from Red Robin that I demolished last night. That was amazing.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job says
FL looks so appealing right now since it has been back in the 40s here in Chicago. Thanks Spring. Hope you find a manatee soon!

I like to donate to the melanoma research foundation. My hubs died 16 years ago from melanoma. He was 29. It sucked. It strikes so many young men and women. Would love to find a cure.
Favorite thing this week is being off today!

Manatee spotting this time of year is harder than when the water is cooler. I don’t know where in Florida you are but in central-northern Florida near Ocala/crystal River there are fresh water springs where the manatees gather all year. Google swim with manatees in Florida and I think you’ll find it. Good luck and have fun!
Kathleen says
I just recently moved away from Florida, but one of my best experiences there was kayaking with the manatees at chazzahowitzka (I definitely spelled that wrong). You should look into it, it was about and hour or so from where I lived in Tampa 🙂
Susan says
Good luck with the manatee spotting. When we were in Florida earlier in the month, we saw one in the canals in front of the locks. My in-laws say that is where they usually see them. But they also said they only see about one a month.
My favorite thing this week is cashew butter I got from Amazon. Favorite charity is Girls on the Run, because my daughter is participating this Spring.
Tricia says
Good luck with the manatees! I just got back from Florida and I wanted to see one so bad. We even went kayaking and went way out of our way to go to “where the manatees hang out”. No luck. So sad.
runeatrepeat says
No luck even kayaking?! Boo.
angela@LoveTheRunning says
Precisely 18 minutes lol how random! I used to spend summers in Florida and would wake up so early to run. It was still hot and humid. I would definitely get used to it but the first week or so was always a challenge!
runeatrepeat says
Yeah, I am still super not used to it and drowning in my sweat 🙂
Hannah @ Will Run For Coffee says
Favourite thing is a nail polish I bought for like £2 from the supermarket. Nails painted on Tuesday, still perfect today! My Chanel ones don’t last 24 hours. You don’t always get what you pay for.
That iced coffee looks amazing.
Happy Friday!

Oooh! What brand is it?
