I was at Starbucks until about 1pm when I decided to break for lunch. But, I didn’t have the car so my options were very limited. I wasn’t feeling a Starbucks egg sandwich, so I decided to go next door and get a big ol’ deli sub from Ralphs.
I don’t like doing straight up veggie sandwiches because they don’t keep me full for 5 minutes, but they were out of tuna. Fail.
I ended up with the egg salad and tons of veggies! The guy went a little overboard with the mustard and it was overpowering. Oh well.
As soon as I ordered my sandwich Ben came to switch out the car and I spent a couple hours running errands.
When I got home I was HUNGRY out of nowhere and devoured an apple, orange and some PB pretzels. I didn’t need 2 pieces of fruit, but it happened.
I finally figured out what I’m doing for the Foodbuzz Foodie gift exchange. I’m kinda sad it’s not funny, but all my funny ideas were borderline offensive useless and I didn’t want someone to be like, “Great, what am I going to do with this piece of crap…”
Around 7pm I went to make dinner, but got a call from Ben that he needed a ride home. When I finally got home I threw a Costco take and bake pizza in the oven ($3 off this week!) and made quick salads.
Regarding the title: I know what you’re thinking – Can there really be too much pizza? Yes, unfortunately, today there was.
I should have stopped at 2 pieces because after 3 pieces of pizza and a Vitatop (and maybe a bite or two of Ben’s ice cream) I felt like I was going to explode. This is my biggest issue right now – stopping BEFORE I’m full because I always eat past fullness and feel like crap. That is my new project for the month 🙂

I’m super with you on the Laila Ali/pink boxing gloves juxtaposition. I feel like it’s a good representation of me, tomboyish and girly all at once.I like your blog and second the above reader’s comment about it being soo refreshing and real, but also I think you should change and evolve however feels right to you.
I hope my flight has wifi…

Cost-Co pizzas are soooooo salty … not good for anyone. What does that pepperonni (piggie meat) taste like?? Ugh …. that is just not right to consume … ever. Kids are addicted to it also. Very awful. How about a pizza w/pineapple/chicken/fresh garlic? Low sod cheese/sauce too. I think it would taste fine w/a very good pizza crust. HAPPY THANKSGIVING FOLKS!

There are no foods that I “forbid” as you are suggesting – Costco pizza included. I actually took all the pepperoni off my pieces because I don’t eat pork 99.9% of the time. I make “healthified” pizzas at home all the time, this just wasn’t one of those times 🙂 But, thanks for the ideas!

Monica! I’d just like to say that you’re an inspiration 🙂 Realizing what the issue is and making a plan of attack is a big step! I’m in the process of not beating myself up for eating too much and realizing that I can start over any minute I want. I think it’s a much better way of thinking to say ‘I made a mistake, I’m not perfect, I will do better from this second on’ than to think ‘I’ve ruined it all, I might as well go eat everything.’ I just ate an unecessary cliff bar and some pancakes but am I beating myself up (out loud)? Nah! It was a gingerbread cliff bar and pumpkin pancakes, and they were good 😉

Pizza is SO easy to eat in mass quantities! I have the same problem!

Well actually I am mostly gluten free now, so I USED to have the same problem. Wish I still could!

I’m GF too. Probably the best (or worst!) thing was finding Amy’s Rice Crust Roasted Vegetable pizza. Thankfully I can eat the entire single-serving size and still feel good. 🙂

I know that feeling, I love those Costco pizzas so much and I just can’t stop. We started only cooking half of the pizza at a time so then if I want to keep eating it I have to dig in the freezer and gnaw at a frozen peace!
Have an amazing time at foodbuzz and I hope the plane has wi-fi for ya!

I eat too fast and seem to have the same problem as you. And when the fullness feeling finally sets in, I feel miserable.
Have fun at Food Buzz! It looks like lots of fun; I’ll live vicariously through your blog. 🙂

You mentioned not staying full for five minutes with veggie sandwiches. That’s part of my problem too. I’ve been eating vegetarian but sometimes have trouble staying full. It stinks. I don’t like to be hungry, and sometimes beans just don’t stick with me like some chicken used to do.
Any other vegetarians have this same issue?

Are you getting enough protein and fiber? I haven’t eaten meat in a long time and I find that as long as I’m getting enough of those two things I’m satisfied. Oh and make sure you’re drinking enough water! Or have some soup before your meal. Both will help fill up that tummy!
Becky says
I do that all the time. I eat too fast, think I’m still hungry, and then end up feeling too full. For some reason, knowing when to stop doesn’t come too easily for me. It’s especially tough with pizza – my favorite food! It’s a work in progress.

I definitely have those nights of overdoing it. Everyone does. And then I have those nights when I feel right on, like I didn’t overdo it at all, but then I usually feel deprived. It’s weird, but I kinda like having a full tummy before bed. I think this comes from the days when I use to starve myself and I would make myself go to sleep feeling starved. I would feel like such a failure if I wasn’t so hungry by the time I hit the pillow. Yuck, that was no way to live!
