valentine's day date hair redhead

Hello! I feel like I’m still recovering from the holidays food coma. But, Valentine’s Day will be coming up soon and in addition to trying to clean up my diet I’ve created a pretty and easy hair do to distract from what all those Christmas cookies did to my waist Winking smile

Today I’m sharing an easy Date or Girls Night Hair Style that works for anytime you might want to get fancy without using 96 bobby pins and taking 3 hours.

To make this hair style festive get a fun headband that either coordinates with your outfit or is a pretty pop of color!

pretty holiday hair accesories (600x800)

Hairband options:

Silver stars headband – goes with anything and is fancy

Tiny Red Roses headband – for the romantic hippie look

Headband with small gold bow – This is an OG headband, not spandex one that goes all the way around your head.

Easy Valentine’s Day Hair Do

1. Start with dry hair and curl all of it your favorite way.

I use hot rollers to curl the majority of my hair since I have A LOT. You can use a curling or straight iron if that’s your jam.

(I use the Top Styler hot rollers, but they can be hard to find. I used to be obsessed with my travel rollers, but I have a lot of hair so can be hard to use these.)

Then, I curl the difficult strands with a curling iron. (I have the Revlon 1.25” curling iron from Target.)

Tip: I got an over the cabinet hanger basket similar to this one or this one to keep all my hair tools in the same place.

2. Set with hairspray.

3. Put your headband around your neck. Part your hair and style your bangs (if you have some) however you like.

Then, pull out a section of hair from each side to the front and slide the head band on.

Headband on, small sections pulled to the front on each side:

4. Grab one side of the front section, gently twirl it and pin it to the back. Repeat with other side.

Optional: Kill it with more hairspray if your hair is like mine and falls fast!

Have fun!

Question: What’s your favorite way to do your – hair up or down?

Purdy! Fancy hair = blow dried, straightened, and ends curled under. It happens a few times a year. Other than that, I’ve perfected the bed head look. 🙂

Curly hair don’t care! Wouldn’t trade mine for the world. 🙂
It’s kind of short so there aren’t a ton of options, but the only bad days for curly hair are rainy ones! So in So Cal, that’s twice a year. NBD

Pretty curls! It’s fun to accessorize with headbands and bows every now and then. I swear I’m not five. 😉

I like to put my hair in a bun. I have a ton of hair too. The good thing about it is not having to wash it everyday.

I’m pretty proud of myself if I actually blow dry my hair. Usually it air dries and I brush it. SO lazy.

I think my hair looks better down but I wear it back 90% of the time. Your curls turned out so pretty! Do you curl every strand of hair after leaving it in hot rollers?

My hair looks way better down and I can also style it that way much better. If my hair is up it’s usually bc I need to wash it or I am going to the gym. If I can get a hairdresser to do my hair up then I like it, but I am in no way talented enough for that.

That turned out super pretty! I am loving all the braids and twists and would love to be able to do them…but I just do not have the patience. Annnnd…the fact that it ends up sweaty and in a bun every day makes me feel like I am wasting time. I wish I could be one of those girls that pulls off a cute hairstyle while working out, but I’m not.

Luckily I have curly hair and it is pretty versatile. It can go up or down and it looks pretty good.

So pretty! I have been wearing my hair down with loose curls from a wand. I do like to add little accessories from time-to-time. Cute!

Pretty! I like wearing my hair down. Love curls, but my hair is stubborn and super straight.

I like wearing mine down, or in one of those half up/half down jobbies. I usually equate wearing my hair ‘up’ into throwing it in a turd bun because I’m too tired to do anything else with it. ha ha

My hair is in a ponytail 95% of the time. If I want to be fancy I actually blow dry it but sometimes when the moon is perfectly aligned with the stars, *gasp, I roll it! That usually only happens once or twice a year.

I used to be like that, I really swear by hot rollers because I cannot just stand there and curl all my hair. Nope 🙂

90% of the time it is a pony tail. That other 10% of the time I twist my bangs or braid them and try to keep my hair down but then the wind blows slightly and it is straight back into a pony tail. Pretty boring but it is the happy balance I have found so far :).

Naturally curly hair means limited options. I actually love to pull my hair in a high ponytail but leave a few tendrils around my face. Looks like a fancy do when it takes five seconds. 🙂
