Hey! How are ya?
Last post I asked who your favorite celebrity is – I love JLo, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep… okay that’s a lot.
I think my favorite male actor is Tom Hanks and I spotted his star yesterday!
I also got caught in some really bad traffic on the way home. I was only able to take this picture because my car was in park and turned off – we were at a complete stop for about 15 minutes.
This morning I woke up (thank God) to see the rain flooded the sidewalk near the riverbed. We will rebuild! The thing with SoCal is the rain doesn’t make it feel nice and clean, it actually feels dirtier since it just sweeps all the trash and debris to one location.
Pineapple cottage cheese is back! Except it’s already gone. I love this stuff.
And now I’m sitting down to lunch on the couch while I catch up with the Duggars.
Team Sparkle Virtual 5K
Team Sparkle is holding a virtual 5k to raise money for their Ragnar team.
#TeamSparkle is running the So Cal Ragnar in order to raise awareness & money for Rett Syndrome & Girl Power 2 Cure. This terrible disease has trapped close to half a million girls in their bodies, leaving them unable to speak, walk, or even use their hands. #TeamSparkle is running because these girls can’t, but we believe someday they will!
This year we invite YOU to join #TeamSparkle and participate in the #ragnar4rett journey by signing up for a virtual 5k (& yes, all profits will be donated to Girl Power 2 Cure).

Lunch for me was cod with roasted broccoli, cauliflower, and asparagus. I did have cottage cheese with berries for breakfast! 🙂

You are so healthy! I need to clean it up 🙂
Ashley @ Saving Money in your Twenties says
I live in the DC area so traffic is quite terrible. We just moved (back) from Rochester NY and omg “traffic” didn’t even exist up there, it was glorious
Shannon in Tustin says
Traffic in LA is the worst! I got stuck in a mess (but not as messy as yours) right through the Sepulveda pass straight on by LAX. WHY oh WHY???? blah…
Seems like whenever we leave the OC the traffic gets nasty. Seriously; you cross the county line and BOOM it jams up!!!
I’ll stay behind the orange curtain, thanks. Only venture out when absolutely necessary (my family beckons me).
Paula says
Fun fact: putting pineapple chunks into your regular cottage cheese does NOT taste the same as the kind of cottage cheese with pineapple already in it. Don’t try it at home.
I lived in the DC area for 13 years (hi, Rob Runs!!) and now that I live in Gainesville, FL, I am no longer allowed to complain about traffic. Although, really, this town was not designed with traffic flow in mind. The two main arteries in and out get a little stupid in the evening except when the students are gone!
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
I definitely do NOT miss the traffic from living in LA! Now when traffic gets bad, I just remind myself that it could be worse…
Losing Lindy says
I can only imagine how bad traffic in SoCal can be.
Erin @ Erin's Inside Job says
I had The Counter for lunch and it was glorious. Then I stopped for a $7 that I could have made at home but I didn’t bc I was visiting family in CA. Im on vacation so I will spend $7 on juice apparently. Now I am on a plane headed back to single digit weather. What is wrong w me?
Jojo @ Run Fast Eat Lots says
Traffic sucks in Boston, which is why I’m glad that I don’t own a car. And I don’t have to deal with things like finding parking during snow emergencies.
Elena says
I live in Atlanta and traffic is horrendous. Luckily I work from home!
Rob Runs says
I live in the DC metro area so traffic can be miserable (luckily my work commute is against traffic). I was in New York this weekend for the Central Park race and traffic there seems so much worse I can’t complain about DC (much) any more.
I had leftover spaghetti for lunch, for like the sixth time in a row.
Paula says
But you CAN complain about Maryland drivers. Or Virginia drivers, depending on which side of the river you prefer.
Amy @ Mama Running for God says
I hate traffic jams. Sorry you had to sit there for so long. Love cottage cheese & the Duggars!! I had lunch out with some ladies from church today. I actually just got done blogging about it. Don’t look if you’re hungry haha
Sarah @ RunningChickago says
My lunch was a portabella, goat cheese & asparagus sandwich w/ a side of roasted veggies. YUM. Can’t stay too healthy though…I had pepperoni pizza for dinner! 😉 yum!
melissa says
what kind of eyeliner do you use? is it liquid or pencil? i love how you do it and i’m in the market…
Jill @ Champagne for Everyday says
I love that this run is for a great cause, one that I don’t hear about too often. It’s always good to bring awareness to the diseases we don’t see in the news everyday! <3 I was on an airplane for lunch so I had a quest bar, a banana and some veggies….mmmm!

Sarah says
At least the sun is still shining! I was bad today and missed lunch, I was super busy and didn’t find time, but had lasagna for tea. Never sure about traffic, live in a small city and don’t drive so I never really notice it :L
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
I had some turkey chili, avocado and tortilla chips with a small green salad for lunch. It was very filling.
Traffic is always bad here in NYC. Story of my life!
Angela @ HonestlyAngela says
I don’t think I will ever live in a big city again, because I can’t stand traffic. The town that I live in never has bad traffic, and it only takes 10 minutes to drive from one end to the other. It is great!
