Wet Walk

Breakfast

6 Feb

It’s the El Nino! I can’t believe how much it has been raining in SoCal! Luckily the rain let up for a bit and my mom and I took the dogs for a walk.

When we got back I made banana oatmeal and topped it with dried fruit and Smart Balance PB (which I do not think is good). The key to making whipped banana oats in the microwave is to stir it a lot throughout the cooking process to break down the banana.

I found this video on You Tube for releasing your IT band. It hurts, but is good for you. I’ve done this exercise a couple of times and don’t feel any difference yet, I’m sure it will get better with time.

I’m also pounding the anti-inflams and vitamins. I read about one runner who takes Vitamin C when his IT band hurts, so I figured an extra pill couldn’t hurt!

Weighing In

I have set Saturday morning as my weekly weigh in, but the scale I left at my mom’s is old and tragic. I don’t want to weigh in on a differenct scale in case it shows a drastic gain or drop that is not accurate. I’ll be weighing in when I get back home 🙂

Also, since we’re speaking of weigh ins, I need to say that I forgot to mention the rice krispy cereal with marshmallow treat I had yesterday. I wasn’t trying to hide it, just was mixed in with other random pics. I need note it in my notebook. This treat is made with Special K Chocolate cereal because it’s all we had that would work! The plans for today include visiting my grandma, nino and nina. And of course – frozen yogurt, I’ve been dying for it! See you later 🙂

Oh… I thought those were molds on your cereal bar. I had to reread the bit about the treat twice because I thought you said you forgot about it. The photo threw me off. O.o

I’ve recently had to start using a foam roller and it’s definitely a love/hate relationship. Speaking of which, it’s been a while since I’ve used it – maybe I’ll set a date tonight.

      That bar looks delish!

What, that ‘smore bar looks delicious! I had one at a coffee shop once that blew my mind but I’ve never made them because I don’t like graham cereal on it’s own. Special K I can do though, thanks for the idea!

UGH. We got 14 inches here in central PA–I shoveled for over an hour. *grumble* Like a crazy person I still went running, mainly on the road since a lot of people were taking their sweet ass time clearing their sidewalks. Luckily there were a few other brave souls out there running as well so I didn’t feel completely ridiculous. Topic? The weather looks awesome out there. The grass is so green! 🙂 We need to move to places were 14″ of snow don’t happen.

At least you managed to avoid the insane snowstorm we’re having here in DC. Made it out of town just in time! 😀

What kind of scale do you use at home? I need a new one because mine is tragically busted as well. One minute I’m one weight and the next I weight 5 lbs heavier. It aint right.

Stick with the IT band exercise. It worked like a charm for me. I think the key is to go slow and go along the entire length of the leg, from the hip to the knee. Good luck!

AG I’ve NEVER had frozen yogurt (bar Ben and Jerrys frozen yogurt once) – I think I might visit California for the sole purpose of it. I’ve seen what you bloggers put with it, it looks incredible…have a good day!
