Hello! I’ve been excited to share my fun weekend event but have been so busy with running and eating and traveling I almost forgot! I am not decorating my lil condo this year because I’ll be traveling over the holidays so I haven’t gotten into the Christmas spirit yet. That’s a major bummer because I love the holidays! And just because life isn’t perfect doesn’t mean I should miss out on the festivities.
So I was pretty excited when a rep from Verizon FiOS invited me to a special screening of The Grinch in Long Beach. I immediately replied, “The Jim Carrey Grinch?! Yes! Love it!!”
The event was hosted by Verizon and STARZ. They invited local customers to come watch the movie and meet the Grinch for FREE! Isn’t that awesome?
In addition to the event, Verizon donated $2,500 to the Food Bank of Southern California. And attendees were encouraged to bring food to donate too. If you brought food for the food bank you got a candy too! You know I brought some!
I got there on the early side so the donations were barely coming in, but by the time I left the bin was overflowing and food was stacked all around it too.
Before the movie there were carolers. I tried to join them, but they politely asked me to sit down.
So, I just danced from my seat while eating popcorn and throwing back PB M&Ms.
I really love The Grinch movie and it gave me that little push I needed to get in the holiday spirit. After the movie I went Christmas shopping and have most of it done now!
The best part of the whole day was meeting the Grinch though. My little brother was a little weirded out by him. HA!
My lil bro poked at me during this part because I always say this…
Not-so-fun-fact: When I worked at Starbucks in college my fellow baristas called me The Grinch around Christmas time one year. I bet it’s because I left the Christmas party early to see a boy I liked. Busted.
For more info on the company or event check out #FiOSConnectsSoCal & #MovieMeet or Verizon FiOS
After the movie I decided I deserved a lil pick-me-up to help fuel my holiday shopping spree… naturally I stopped at the new and exciting Dunkin Donuts in Long Beach!!! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get here. They bought an old donut shop and decorated the big donut in front DD style.
Question: What is your favorite Christmas movie?
I love the Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, Four Christmases…

2 things:
1-LB Grinch is creepy, your brother had the right to be weirded out..LOL
2-Fave Christmas movies are Rudolph and Love Actually
Allison says
Where to start? Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life, Christmas Vacation, The Muppet Christmas Carol and Love Actually are my top festive films. And since I was a kid I’ve loved Mickey’s Christmas Carol – it’s not Christmas until I’ve seen it!

You were in the LBC! Next time bring the family by and say hello! Now to answer your question… My favorite Christmas movie is A Christmas Story.
Kathy says
Elf and Christmas Vacation…in fact we just watched Christmas Vacation and I think we recited most of the lines before they were said. ha!
I have been called Grinch so often I am thinking about dying my hair green during the holidays. I just really hate all the hoopla involved in buying gifts…money, money, money, I want, I want, I want….that is NOT what its all about.
Thank goodness for January. 😉

The Grinch is my second favorite Christmas movie (after Elf).
I love the Art Theatre! I used to live about 2 blocks away back in the day. We went there to see the Caballo Blanco movie there a couple of months ago.

My favorite Christmas movie is, without a doubt, Elf. I laugh so hard every time I see that movie. It really cheers me up. I also really like any rendition of Charles Dickens’ The Christmas Carol. Patrick Stewart’s is my favorite.
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
That is such a good movie, I really like it! But I do have to say my ultimate favoriteChristmas movie is A White Christmas. My mom, sister and I watch it every year together and it’s become quite the tradition!
