What'd you call me?

Dinner was Whore’s Plate. I don’t know if that’s really what it’s called, but my Cuban friend, Adriel, told me this. A while back I made this dish and he said that his grandma called it a “Whore’s Plate” in Spanish. It’s just rice with a fried egg on top – nothing fancy. He says they called it that because it’s really cheap. On the side I had some freshly cooked black beans courtesy of my mom 🙂

dscn6609I also made a bunch of roasted brussels – which I love. I ate them while I was putting everything else together – they didn’t even make it to my plate!dscn6615

Afternoon snack –

My afternoon snack was going to be a bucket of HFCS – Yoplait yogurt.

I felt so bad about it and embarrassed for the blog since I really try to stay away from HFCS so I had to do this…dscn6598

But, it turns out I didn’t like the taste of it. I guess it’s been awhile since I’ve had something like this – it tasted too sweet, almost fake. In addition to HFCS it has aspartame. Is this all necessary?

I ended up trashing it for a TJ’s greek yogurt with Kashi Go Lean. dscn6604

Back to Dessert after dinner– I had some granola and soy chocolate milk. dscn6619

Then, I broke down and had a Peanut Butter girl scout cookie 🙁 They were right on the counter and I caved. I have been thinking about cookies and desserts for days now. I think part of it is hormonal, not that it’s a valid excuse, but I actually told someone I would kill them for a chocolate chip cookie – so I have to blame PMS for that!

I am not going to totally give up on my Lenten promise, because I don’t think that is right, but I do think giving up sweets has just made me more obsessed with them. I don’t know what to do…

Ha what a funny thing to call rice and eggs!
I used to eat those yoplait yogurts everyday, but I tried it in December and thought it tasted too sweet and artificial, amazing how our tastes change huh?

    I heart brussel sprouts too!
i cannot believe you have these AMAZING low fat yoplait flavours. Where I live, we only have 3 kinds: strawberries, blueberries and apricots. In my home country, however, there are a ton more…
