Paula’s Recipe

by runeatrepeat on December 9, 2009

Paula is my mom: DSCN0900

She actually doesn’t have recipes for anything. She’s like me in that she just kinda throws stuff together and hopes it will be good :) (Sorry Mom, it’s true.) So, I kinda followed her “recipe” for dinner tonight by doing the same thing.

She used to make a dish with polish sausage, potatoes and tomato sauce. I used chicken sausage this because I’ve been craving them and want to get it out of my system before Jan 1 (more on that later).IMG_3114

Paula Inspired Recipe: Throw some potatoes, onions, garlic, chopped chicken sausage, tomato paste and spices in a pan. Cook it up. Eat! IMG_3119Served on a bed of spinach. It was good, but didn’t change my life. I would have been happy with beans instead of sausage. I have the weirdest craving for beans all the time lately – I think my body may need the iron! Or I’m dying. Whatever. If I don’t post tomorrow assume I’m dead. IMG_3116Before dinner (but after Costco samples) I had a small bowl of cereal in the afternoon and some grapes that eluded the camera.  IMG_3113Glamorous plans for the evening:

- Drink sf hot chocolate

- Watch the Biggest Loser

- Figure out the meaning of my life (totally not kidding)

P.S. – Bathing Suit Season is only 6 months away!!! Here is a Holiday Survival Work-Out to get it in gear :)

I tried that chicken apple sausage recently, but I didn’t think much of it. I expected more flavor.

I don’t do bathing suits….. thinking about summer gives me anxiety.

Good luck on number 3, wouldn’t everyone love that?
Sausages have become a new obsession of mine. I love the ridiculous flavors they will pump in to them.

Don’t tell me what happens on BL! I won’t be able to watch until tomorrow :( gasp!!!!

mmmmmm sf hot chocolate- totally adding that to my grocery list :-D

why oh why did you have to remind me that bathing suit season is 6months away :-p my workouts are kicked into high gear – for some INSANE reason my friend and i are both dieting during this season. I’m OK with it because it teaches me portion control and to eat intuitively and not devour the batches of cookies I been baking :-D sweeeet!

That’s how I cook too….make it up as I go along. I need to be doing more cooking right now. I haven’t been eating really well in the midst of all the business of the season and have been feeling the frustration you’ve been writing about as well.

almost every time I crave black beans or red meat it’s because I need the iron :-)

Is that true about the iron? I crave beans every day. I love beans. Almost too much.
Your mom is hot!
