What was in the box? Sadly, the box did not contain a puppy ( Heather, that guess made what was actually in the package anti-climactic)…
I am the proud owner of a new camera! Finally. My camera was dying a while back so I began using stole Ben’s camera. Last week I somehow managed to break off the spring that keeps the battery door closed and have been holding closed with a rubber band (classy, I know).
Now all I need is someone to teach me how to use this damn thing!
I failed again at breakfast… here’s the thing – I don’t like eating before I run in the morning because I hate waiting for so long after I eat to get up and go. But, I have been waking up, checking email, writing, farting around… and an hour and a half later I’m too hungry to run without food.
So, I had a small bowl of cereal to tide me over.
But, by the time I got home from a 6 mile run my body feels depleted (it’s weird I don’t feel Hungry, but more empty?). Anyways, I ended up eating an orange, two granola bars with milk, guacamole with a tortilla and this masterpiece tragedy.I realize why I’m doing this so I have a plan to fix it…
Here is my Fuel Well in the Morning Plan:
1. Get out the door to run/exercise within 30 minutes of waking
OR
2. If I realize I will not be running for over an hour eat a “normal” breakfast and have a small snack when I get back.
This isn’t “rocket surgery” 😉 What is my deal?
Question of the Day: What is the best package you’ve ever received in the mail?
Me: I love getting packages – especially food 🙂 Every time I get samples from a company or something I ordered I am so excited and happy to open it. But, I’m lame. Happy, but lame.

Appreciating the persistence you put into your site and detailed information you provide. It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.

An attention-grabbing dialogue is value comment. I think that you need to write more on this matter, it might not be a taboo topic but typically individuals are not sufficient to talk on such topics. To the next. Cheers

I simply desired to appreciate you once again. I am not sure what I might have tried in the absence of the actual points documented by you regarding such a question. It had become the challenging condition for me, but taking note of the very professional form you managed that made me to weep over gladness. I will be grateful for the information as well as pray you really know what a great job you are always accomplishing educating many others by way of your website. Is this how you intend to win elections? Passing a purity test isnt a prerequisite to the ballot box. Us vulgar people vote too you know. Yesterday at 12:52am · ReportJames A. MeltonJames A. I assumed they were just massively inept & unable to see beyond their ideology. Any thoughts on this Farrah guy. Im in Sydney. YAY For new cameras!! I think the best package I got was a few months into college this year, my friends back in highschool sent me a package and I was not expecting it at all! It had all our favorite stuff in it from magazines to candy and pictures of them as well as pictures they colored for me. Very wonderful!

i’m 42 and i still love getting the mail each day, especially packages. how pathetic is that?!? no favorites that i can think of, just love getting stuff. 🙂
Becky @ flybynyght says
Sadly, I don’t think I’ve really ever received anything exciting in the mail – maybe I should enter more give aways! ….oh and actually win one for once! 🙂

Ha! I say that phrase “farting around” a lot! It drives my daughter (almost 13) INSANE because she says she pictures me walking in a circle and farting. Now I make sure I use it especially for her!

Looks like an amazing camera, how exciting! I love getting new toys. I can totally relate to your morning dilemma. I think I get stuck in the “shoulds” instead of just listening to my body and doing what works for me….not what the magazines say to do.

Yay for a new camera, how exciting!
I usually go to exercise right when I get up for that reason. I hate eating right before.
alison says
Wow, enjoy your new camera! I’ve been eyeballing the Rebel and hope to own one sometime this year.
I’m the same way with breakfast. On the days I go to the gym after take my daughter to school, I eat breakfast, because by the time I shower after my workout, I won’t get home until nearly lunch time. On the days when I run earlier in the morning, I get up and go, without having anything to eat first.
I hardly ever receive packages in the mail, so I’m happy to get anything. However, it’s MUCH better if I didn’t have to pay for whatever is arriving. Unfortunately that NEVER happens. Oh well.

Ooo I love getting food/free products to review in the mail. I wish I had enough money to buy everything I have ever wanted to try and be those people who write reviews for magazines, so this is the closest I get. Call me lame too. We can start a club.
I wish I had the energy to get right up and out the door but a) I just don’t :-\ b) I don’t feel comfy running in the dark quite yet. Blah. I wish because if I haven’t worked out by noon it’s like pulling teeth to actually do it.
Evan Thomas says
I’m the same way in the morning. I love to get up, grab maybe an apple, and run 10 miles. But if that’s not in the fates I need to just eat something real and wait… and wait… and wait…
darryn (brio.gusto) says
Nice cam!! Looking forward to your future shots!
I know you feel – breakfast before exercise can be a finnicky thing. Some people can’t do it, I, on the other hand *must* do it otherwise I feel like I’m going to pass out. I find with food in my belly, I have much more energy and do better with my exercise anyways. So, my usual is to eat a regular breakfast, wait about 30-45 mins and then start my exercise. After I’ll have a snack within 30m-1hr of finishing (if I exercise at the gym it takes time to shower afterward). The size of my snack is proportionate to the size of my morning breakfast (ie. big breakfast = small snack, small breakfast = big snack, avg breakfast=avg snack). That’s what works for me.
