Watermelon Super Green Detox Smoothie Recreation

Smoothies

Hello! How’s your week going?

Today, I recreated a recipe from the Watermelon Board’s website. While enjoying the fresh, sweet taste of watermelon, I decided to take a break and explore some online entertainment options. I came across a popular top kasyno online, which offered an impressive variety of games and promotions. I’m going to be working with the Watermelon Board again this year, and I’m super excited since watermelon is my FAVORITE.

But this recipe isn’t your typical watermelon fruit salad – it’s a Super Green Detox Smoothie that has some very unique ingredients! One of the ingredients is Gochujang – a Korean chili paste.

I made a special trip to the local Asian market for it. (I heard you could find it in the Asian section of your normal grocery store near the Sriracha, but I couldn’t find it.)

Since I was at a store I don’t go to very often I made sure to walk up and down all the aisles and check out all the goods! A lot of the ingredients and treats reminded me of things I saw in China.

One of the ingredients in the smoothie is green tea powder. The list of ingredients on this package was just green tea so I decided to use some of the tea I had from China actually.

Along with some of my favorites I saw some really different stuff.

Banana sauce?! I need sauce for my bananas.

Skipped this one…

fried squid balls (600x800)

I feel like I would love Sriracha mayo. I’m guessing it’s like the kinda they put on sushi.

Sriracha for my purse.

This is perfect for my extra gluten diet.

Okay. Back to the Watermelon Smoothie…

I made this Super Green Detox Smoothie. But, I since I couldn’t find the Gochujang paste I actually used Sriracha. AHHHH! I have officially become an addict – Sriracha in a smoothie?!

But, I figured it was the most similar option. I added a packet of stevia to make it a little sweeter.

Tip: To get the fragrance and flavor of mint leaves you can just clap them in your hands instead of muddling them.

I promise you can’t taste the Sriracha. There is a tiny spicy aftertaste (like if you’ve ever had chocolate with chili or something). It was delicious!!

Question: What’s your FAVORITE smoothie ingredient?

Have you ever tried parsley in a smoothie? Chili? Green tea?

Actually you shouldn’t fear “squid balls” or “fishballs” – they’re basically mashed up squid or fish meat with flour and shaped into “balls”. It’s not the balls of squids or fishes.

That’s definitely the most original smoothie ingredient I’ve ever seen! I usually stick to oats or something a little less off the beaten path for my smoothie add ins!

Never even knew they was sauce for your bananas! I am a huge fan of kale and protein powder on my smoothies. I try to get as much protein in as I can.

LOL! This post made me giggle with your pictures of random things we think are weird! I would probably do the same thing and can picture myself in one of the aisles laughing hysterically with a friend over banana sauce! I was leery of this smoothie after hearing the siracha additive but since you said you can’t taste it, I am pumped to try it! I love watermelon, mint, and green tea so it’s gotta be a win, win! Thanks

Yum! I’ve never put a lot of spices in my smoothies. I think any smoothie is better with blueberries or a banana. Frozen fruit just adds to the taste!

It should have been in a red plastic box. Hopefully you can grab some next time. It is delicious in korean dishes!

Ive had green tea in a smoothie but I think that’s it of those. I love Sriracha so maybe I should whip up some smoothies with it. I have one every morning, but I am boring and make the same one everyday.

I love Asian stores bc I can get a lot of lentils and basil for cheap. It’s also the best place for me to get my beloved kabocha squash.

Frozen watermelon is my favorite ingredient in a smoothie, I also like to add coconut water, bananas, vanilla yogurt and strawberries. It is the best smoothie ever.

I’m just not a smoothie person. Milkshakes are ok but…well I digress:)

I would definitely try that sriacha mayo though 🙂

I love just putting watermelon in the blender and making watermelon juice. It’s great after a long hot run in the summer. So hydrating and refreshing.

Is it sauce for your bananas, or sauce made of bananas? That fried gluten is hilarious. I’m usually pretty safe with my smoothie ingredients. I don’t often stray from bananas, berries and some spinach.
