Hi! How’s it going? It’s March 3rd and I want to share my favorite Run – Eat and Repeat from February. Plus, my friend is doing the Undy Run this weekend and it’s for a great cause so let’s talk about that first…
Are you brave enough to run in your underwear?
I’m not. But you don’t have to, that’s just the name of the race – the Undy Run / Walk in San Diego. Funds raised through the Undy Run/Walk support national prevention, research and patient support initiatives at the Colon Cancer Alliance. It’s just a fun spin on a 5K to bring attention to colon cancer.
My bff Cindy lost her Nina to colon cancer 4 years ago. About 2 years ago my aunt Madeline was diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away shortly after. Last week a friend’s mom was diagnosed with it. It’s sad and scary. I feel helpless to alleviate any of the pain of getting sick or the stress having a family member who is sick for my friends.
So, I encourage you to take care of yourself. Know your risk. Get regular check-ups. Eat well. Exercise consistently (in moderation). Get enough rest. Don’t stress. Pray. Lead by example to the people around you.
Cindy is doing the Undy Run again this year with her family. This will be the third year of them getting together to do the run/walk, raise money and honor her Nina’s memory. (You can donate here if you’re interested.)
There are Undy Run / Walk events all around the US if you want to do a local race.
Okay. Now let’s talking about running and eating and repeating for February.
My favorite RUN
The Surf City Marathon was a good race and gave me a realistic idea of where I am in my current fitness level. I had been getting slower and slower last year and this was a check-in to see my stamina and speed right now so I could make a training plan to get faster.
My favorite EAT
Thin Mints cereal was pretty amazing too.
My favorite post I’d like to REPEAT
How to Love Yourself (and Why You Should)

I’m not a fan of running so can’t see myself EVER doing it in my underwear….or inflicting that on others 🙂 Well done you for taking part in such a worthwhile cause. Best thing I did in Feb was get a new puppy. Not sure about the best thing I ate but definitely going to try that Chicken Pozole Soup recipe it looks quite awesome.

Best thing I ate was ramen from this hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a friend I needed to catch up with. I’m in grad school and pretty reluctant to spend any money on luxuries, but since I’m moving in a couple of months, I’m using that as an excuse to experience some of Denver’s food scene before leaving.

Best thing I ate was a tomato soup at a local Italian restaurant. Best thing I did was traveling to San Francisco (evendough I had to visit the emergency room right after I was back).

The best thing I did in February is clean my basemet. The best thing I ate was chocolate covered cannolis from the local Italian bakery. The best thing I saw … 73 degree temperatures in February!!!! AMAZING.
Worse thing that I did Clean my basement. Why is that the best and worst thing? I hurt my back pushing, pulling and lifting super heavy boxes and now I am completely out of commission. The pain is excruciating. Muscle spasms plague me. Uggh.
Sally @ sweat out the small stuff says
Well this past weekend we made snickerdoodle cookies and took the slightly underdone ones and put them in a bowl and topped with chocolate chip ice cream. The bomb dot com!!

Thank you! Given that you have a personal connection to this disease, please email me if you’re interested in connecting with our mission and getting more involved in the important work we are doing to put an end to colon cancer — [email protected].

I’m not brave enough to run in my underwear, but I’d get over it if a loved one were sick. Good for you, getting the message out, no matter what you run in.

I SAW That cereal at Target the other day and was like WOAH THERE, but I tend to get disappointed with most cereals- they never live up to their promise! Best thing I did was REVAMP MY BLOG- hollah! I’m coming back!
