Here’s a list of 51 Positive Affirmations for Runners. I mentioned these on Instagram today because you may not realize this but, YOU DO AFFIRMATIONS. If you’re not doing them on purpose – your affirmations are basically whatever thoughts bounce around in your head before, during and after you run.

Usually affirmations are considered positive statements you say out loud or in your mind to help train your brain. But we all have an internal dialogue. So, if you’re not choosing to practice positive affirmations you may be end up thinking a series of negative thoughts – especially on a hard run or after a bad day (when a positive mindset is needed the most!).

So, I’m sharing a list of 51 Positive Affirmations for Runners to get you started. These are intended to help inspire your affirmations so feel free to change the wording to something you’d say.

How to get started using these affirmations:

  • Choose 5 to 10 affirmations that you like.
  • Write them down or put them in your notes app.
  • Say them to yourself every morning for a week. (Repeat 3x if you have time)
  • Check in with yourself. Choose new affirmations or add more as needed.
