Friday Favorites– Two Apples a Day

Fun· Healthy Living

10 Oct

Happy Friday! How’d your week go?

Hopefully it was amazing! But if it wasn’t and some guy at work stole all your creamer or a hoochie is trying to steal your boyfriend I have something that can help ya below.

Today is all about Friday Favorites = the random, not helpful, but potentially interesting things that make me smile.

1. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. What do two apples a day mean? (I hope they don’t cancel each other out because I can’t stop eating them.)

two apples a day (800x800)

2. Eggs on salad. With chips. I like the weirdest things, but you gotta march to your own lil drummer. eggs on salad (800x800)

3. Popcorn. Every time I go to Target and leave without buying popcorn I consider it a small victory. (Note: Those victories don’t happen often.) When I do leave without popcorn I make my own.

popcorn what what (800x450)

4. My mom’s neighbor gave us a bunch of apple-bananas. It’s like a banana, but better. Creamier. Apple-y. Delicious.

Don’t be scared of them! Tip: They are best a little brown.

5. “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” by The Bloggess. I read it on the way back from Florida a few weeks back (hence the airport pic and snacks). Um, hilarious.

lets pretend this never happened (800x450)

6. Sht Senders – you can send a gallon of crap to your enemy. This is a real thing. Don’t send me any because I freakin’ helped you out by letting you know this for your other enemies.

7. Felina. Breaking Bad fans – did you hear that the last episode was named after this song “El Paso” and it tells the story of the whole show?!

Bonus: It’s about a Mexican girl (believe it represents meth) and it made me miss it all over again.

Question: What’s your favorite thing this week?

Like apple-bananas? Mexican girls named Felina?

THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

I’ve never even heard of apple-bananas! I love bananas, but am not a huge fan of apples, so I wonder if I’d like them. Hmmm…

Ooh so many great things happening here! Apple bananas are new to me, but I’m VERY familiar with apples and like you, have been eating tons! Honeycrisp and pink lady are by far my faves. And eggs on salad? YES! My favourite thing this week…. there are many, but one of the biggest was a solid week of awesome running. I struggle with anemia but my running has been feeling amazing lately! 🙂

Oh my gosh, I have you beat at up to 4 apples a day! One at every meal and a snack. I know, I’m addicted. That apple banana sounds intriguing, do you know where to buy them?

Favorite thing this week was running the Portland Marathon. I love apples. I usually dip them in caramel sauce as a treat.

Favorite thing this week so far is the Ironman World Championships hype. I’m loving being able to enjoy the hype without the stress of actually racing. But I think today will be my favorite day since the plan is to ride lots of miles with a group of pro women who didn’t make the Kona cut. Hopefully my legs are ready!

The song is called “El Paso” by Marty Robbins. It’s one of my favorite songs, partly because I am a Mexican girl who was born in El Paso. 😉 I called it when I heard the name of the finale (“finale” being an anagram of Felina) and confirmed it when Walt found the cassette in the stolen car. It was a beautiful, bittersweet tie-in.

Favorite thing this week is accomplishing a goal I never thought would happen – cooking every single meal/snack/etc. and keeping it clean Monday-Friday. I am most definitely treating myself to something delicious (and not made by me!) tonight.

My favorite thing this week is getting ready to go to Chicago to cheer the hubs on in his marathon! He’s worked harder this season than I’ve ever seen him – hoping he breaks 2:30 that he wants!! Can’t wait to be the cheerleader for the weekend!

As long as you eat an odd number of apples daily, the doctor will stay away (at least that’s the rule I lived off of in middle school).

I am going to call you a copy cat. I put eggs in my salad and chips or pretzels all the time. The best is when you fry the egg where the white is cooked but the yellow is runny…. it’s like extra dressing.

Did my first half marathon ever last weekend – it was a lot easier and faster than I thought, and I actually enjoyed it (!) and have been on a high ever since. So it’s been a very good week!

Always one to get carried away, I’ve signed up for two more halves and a marathon for next year. I’m assuming twice the length = feel twice as good afterwards….right?

      I want some popcorn now!!
