Hot “cold” Cereal

Breakfast· Marathon

26 Oct

I am picking up my car this morning so I got to run a little later. It was so nice to be able to run when the sun was up – and it’s a little warmer! I did 6 miles at a good pace 🙂 I felt really good too!

I wanted cold cereal for breakfast, but it’s so cold out I thought a warm breakfast would be more satisfying. So, I made Hot “cold” cereal by heating up my soymilk…IMG_2030

Then, pouring it over my cereals. It was yummy, but it’s funny to see steaming cereal 🙂IMG_2031

Today after work I am going to Yoga. I have been wanting to go back to yoga since we moved here, but lack of car/fear/time have made it hard. Well, I am committing to yoga 2 times a week. I’m signing up for a package tonight so I have to go or I’ll just lose money (that is not an option).

I am scared though. For some reason yoga makes me nervous (kinda ironic) because it’s hard for me and I don’t feel good at it. But I know I need to incorporate stretching and strength training into my life, so here it goes! I’ll be home late tonight so I’m packing a good snack for before class and then I’ll eat a lighter dinner after.

See you at lunch!

doesn’t hot milk make the cereal soggy?

I am with you about being nervous about yoga. I go once a week during lunch and I still get nervous that I won’t know what to do. It does help with my running though. Good luck!!!

Great idea about the hot milk and cereal. I never thought yoga was hard until I actually tried it, but it has helped my running so much in terms of balance and strength. Good luck!

I’m so horrible at yoga too b/c I am soo not stretchy. My legs are always really tight from running and forgetting to stretch. 🙁 I need to take your example and make a commitment to it.

Btw- grapenuts heated up in the microwave with milk is delicious if you like hot cereal. It gets almost as mushy as oats.

Good luck with yoga. I would LOVE to join a class, but there aren’t any yoga studio’s where I live. Belgium is very slow on picking up trends like that 🙂

That’s a cozy bowl of cereal.

Congrats on your car arriving and good luck in yoga. I get nervous in new situations too. Just keep reminding yourself that everyone is concentrating on their own poses, not on yours 🙂

I’ve never had hot milk with my cereal, but that sounds kinda neat.

Yoga freaks me out too. Yoga studios are so intimidating, and being a newbie I feel like I’d be so behind everyone and look like a baffoon.

Yay for picking up your car!!

In-studio yoga freaks me out too. I went to a studio in Ellicott City a few times, but then (sadly), they went out of business. I’m curious about where you decided to go too…and I’ll be interested to hear what you think of the studio you go to. My new gym (Lifetime) has tons and tons of classes, so I might check out a yoga class there. But, again, I’m scared.
